Peng follows along, idly trying to reach out and grab Fei's ass from time to time, as the trio head back downstairs. In the dining room, Fei finds the table set with three bowls of steaming soup. The goblin, distracted from sex for once, runs and hops onto one of the chairs, grabbing a bowl and downing it. "Someone's eager." The farmer chortles. "So, I hope my son's room is in an acceptable state?" The fat man says as he sits.
Spoiler: Luck Roll D10: 8 "Wait! I give up!" The last remaining thug throws up his hands, the club clattering loudly to the stone floor.
Spoiler: Luck Roll D10: 2 Claudia's arm feels a ripple as a projectile slams into the thick wood of the shield.
"Celeste! Keep away! He's a kidnapper!" Meira kept her voice firm, rare she would usually take such a sharp tone with her. It didn't look like he'd be much of a threat now, so she began to release the grip of the bind. In the back of her mind, she couldn't help but think how this was considerably more difficult without Jasmine. She couldn't use fire or lightning like her sister could. Celeste also didn't quite have the experience to know when she should use her spells or how even if she probably could have saved herself had it simply occurred to her the situation was dangerous enough to use them. Still, it looked like she had managed as she made her way to touch Celeste's arm and pull her away while the guards detained him. She was still unclear if the motive was just financial or something worse, but the threat was subdued for now.
Spoiler: Perception D100: 22 (Failure) Looking back at the dark street behind them, Delphi can see little of note, though as she thought, it is rather hard to pay attention in this situation. The elf leads her through the archway heading to the university grounds, across the wide courtyard. Looking at the scattered buildings, Delphi spots the occasional light in a window, but for the most part the place is pretty deserted. "Well, then it's even more important to give you a good impression of the place. Being in a new city can be lonely." The woman's hand slides forward from Delphi's hip, their bodies pulled closer together as she slides her palm over the skald's stomach, and then begins to dip lower.
"Of course, sir." The elf smiles politely. "Though there isn't a huge amount of information on the books, I can confirm that an agent has been to the property to make sure it's as advertised. Interestingly, the owner seems to be a countess - seems unusual for a noble of some status to have a small farm." The elf shrugs. "Aside from that, what would you like to know?"
Elaine doesent hesitate or reply. She gave them their Chance to Walk Out of this alive. With a Swift Strike she ends The Mans Life quickly.
"It was that woman. That harlot..." Ellaria spits with venom. "A human woman recently visited the monastery and began spending time with Enya - my second daughter. We get many such visitors, attracted by exaggerated tales of our priestess' promiscuity, and we assumed she was there for nothing more than the hope of seducing one of us. Instead, it seems she was teaching Enya her dark arts and playing on her rebellious nature to turn her against us." Emara explains, calm and diplomatic as ever. "I know where the necromancer was staying, in the city. It might be a place to begin your search. As for what to do with Enya..." She sighs. "Ultimately, it is her choice whether to come back to us. I'd just rather she not be hurt unless you have no choice. I know it makes your job more difficult, but I couldn't bear it if she were killed or seriously hurt. The necromancer, on the other hand, I care little what happens to her. If she's injured, we'll tend to her. If she dies, we'll perform burial rites." Emara says, betraying a ruthless edge at odds with her pleasant personality.
The guards begin to pull the dazed kidnapper to his feet, slapping irons around his wrists and dragging him. Celeste goes with Meira back into the stunned crowd, blushing hard. "Um... Meira... He might, uh, not quite be a kidnapper..."
Eran listened carefully and nodded when Emara was done talking. “I see... any chance the human woman was after the relic and this was all an elaborate plot to get it?” He asked. It was unlikely, but not entirely impossible. “In any case I will do my best to retrieve what was taken from you. If I get the chance I will try to convince Enya to come back, too.” Probably after fucking some sense into her. Eran kept the thought to himself. “Now, where was the human woman staying?”
"W-Wait!" The man shouts loudly, but it doesn't help him. Elaine's sword slashes diagonally against his chest, and he goes down in a spray of blood, dead instantly. His vitae sprays against the stone floor and the old coffins, the first fresh blood the place has probably seen for centuries. Looking around, she sees that he's definitely dead, the man she bashed against the coffin is likely dead, while one she held hostage is still breathing, just unconscious. Outside, the wind howls, and Elaine feels a chill.
......... ......... What. She froze. That....no. "What?" Meira was at a loss. Did she overreact? No. With all the information she had, she made the proper response. But still, apparently Celeste seemed to think she knew something that she didn't. "Didn't he try grabbing you?"
"Certainly possible." Ellaria says. "I wouldn't be surprised if Enya got scammed like that, the dummy..." She mutters under her breath. Ignoring her daughter, Emara steps forward. "I would be...exceptionally grateful if you managed to convince her to come home." She purrs, her hand gently brushing against Eran's. "As for where she was staying... Here." She turns around, fetching a piece of parchment with an address written on it. "If you're a local, you should be able to find it without too much difficulty - it's not so far from the main square. An old and somewhat decrepit flat she's been renting."
"Well, yes, but... Well, you know mother, and..." Celeste's blush deepens and she gets quite red. "You did what made sense given the information you had, but, well... He may or not kind of be... Well, we kind of know each other. Know each other really well." She bites her lip. "And I may have kind of planned on getting...snatched away, so we could have a final bit of alone time together, away from the family's prying eyes." There's a long silence. "Okay I know that sounds stupid when I say it out loud."
Emara's brief touch sent a jolt of pleasant warmth through Eran's body. “I will do what I can,” he promised as he took the parchment and read the address. “It's been a long time since I was last here, but I remember the main square, so I should have no trouble finding the place. Just one final question before I am ready to go: How long has it been since the relic was taken?” Knowing how much of a head start his target had could be useful.
"Then..." It had to sink in for a moment. The man was far more dangerous for another reason then. "Who is he? When did this happen? Where? How far?" She closed the distance quick to examine Celeste's clothes, to make sure he hadn't touched anywhere improper. She would never have approved of this vagrant getting too close to the lady, and Celeste knew it. She was pretty sure Celeste was still a virgin, as far as she knew. It would also be a disaster to face Celeste's mother if she lost that on her watch before marriage. Still...Celeste was certainly young, rich and pretty enough she found it hard to believe she wouldn't be able to find a match otherwise. At the same time, she still owed it to her lady to make sure it would happen when she felt it was the right time. Meira let out a sigh after pelting her with questions. "I suppose you can write a letter to the guard that it's a misunderstanding. But, you should still be aiming for an early night before your first day at the guild. Showing up late on your first day would be embarrassing. They'll just be putting him in holding for the night, not prison. He should be alright."
"It was three days ago when we noticed it missing. I make sure to have every room cleaned at least once a day, so that means sometime between three and four days." Emara answers, back to business after the alluring promise of her voice before.
"Oh! Umm... thanks." Eliza smiled and looked down at her feet, happy to receive the compliment but too bashful to meet Maelon's eyes. There was a part of her that was a little surprised that he would notice her new accessories, but she was pleased nonetheless. "Shall we pick up some things before we travel to Collingworth? I was thinking we could go to The Adventurer's Paradise first. It seems to me the best place to start."
"Don't worry, I've struggled to teach him proper table manners. Although... he might forgo them from time to time." Fei chuckles, far too distracted to avoid Peng's wandering hand, "Nnh!" She lets out a muffled moan as the goblin's long, bony fingers reach up her qipao, findind her soft, toned ass. "Enough." She whispers, slapping his paw away. Thankfully the prospect of some proper food caught Peng's attention as he runs to the table. Fei moves in to follow, "Thank you for the meal." She says, taking a sip, letting the soup warm her up. "Aah, yes, the room is in great shape." She replies, unsure if she should share what she's found there. "Your son seems to be shaping up as quite the tidy man." She giggles.
