Hi all, I wanted to get a better understanding of how authors in CHYOA use AI in their works.

I imagine there are several degrees to AI involvement / influence:
    • AI Generated - Works are mostly made from AI with the author prompting what should be written.
    • AI Assisted - Works are partially made from AI with the author letting the AI take over to some extent. (Extent could vary from 'getting inspiration' to 'filling in the blanks')
    • AI Corrected - Works are not made from AI, but the author uses AI to polish the work like an editor.
    • No AI - Works are completely free from AI influence.
I'd like to know what you all think of the whole AI situation and whether you would/do incorporate it in your writing workflow.

A note for those who use Grammarly or similar program - they increasingly use AI to make predictive corrections to your work. So if you use any of those programs, then it's technically "AI Corrected."

It used to be a good tool for checking grammar and punctuation. Now it just underlines half the chapter in yellow to try to get me to pay for it. Not a chance.

AI as an editor (like Grammarly or similar tools) makes total sense, it’s just another way to refine writing. But relying too much on AI for actual content can make stories feel soulless. I think the best use is as a helper, not a replacement for creativity.
