How do fellow autistis feel about fetishising it?

  1. Had an idea for a couple plots centered arround an autistic mc in a story in the style of sexual privilege, but even thou I am autistic myself I'm a bit worried it might be problematic, so I thought I should look for feedback first

    There are two ideias:
1 Women find being autistic hot, and you get easy sex with them
2 People mistakenly percieve being autistic as meaning you can do no harm or have evil intentions, so you get to do whatever you want, and get easy sex

The problem with 2 is that it was inspired from hearing of, IRL, someone having their sexual harassment dismissed due to the perpetrator being Autistic. Autistic people are less likely to comit crimes (and much more likely to be victims), but this is still a obviously ableist position to have, and I worry writing a story based on an ableist idea might be wrong. Plus with it being inspired by a real life fucked up event.

1 seems less problematic overall, but fetishing is often seen as a bad thing, so I thought I should include it

One thing I would definitely not include would be characters using slurs, or infantilizing the MC too much (outside of letting him get free sex on 2)

Also, felt appropriate to post here since it's where the finished story would go + on stuff like this it's better to get the freaky people to give an opinion on it

Lastly, while I mostly want the opinion of autistic people, neurotypicals should feel more than free to give their input, and autistics shouldn't feel the need to reveal themselves

    I'm not autistic.

If I write a story that's about murder, racism, or rape, that doesn't mean I advocate committing murder, being racist, or raping people. Same for this. Fiction is not reality, and as long as it's clear that you're not writing a how-to guide to being a shitty person IRL, I don't think it's a problem.

If I were in your shoes I would definitely putting a content warning at the start of your story, though, to make sure people know what they're getting into and can back out if they know the content will hurt them.

Hey I am a high-functioning person with autism and ADHD diagnose that around age 5, I have experience That I could at least talk about some of it. Also the fact that you even brought it up and are aware of the problematic element is honestly a lot nicer than posting it outright.

One you should realize, This is likely autistic / bisexual /adhd girls who are making a point about finding a man with autism hot.

Primarily because women are more often unlikely to be diagnosed comparison to their male counterparts.

Also, I think another part has to do with the fact that, They are way less likely to get laid so aren't likely to cheat.

However, That's not the main point

It's more about people on the spectrum meetingOthers who match their own freak, And honestly two neurodivergent people falling in love With all the awkwardness that implies, is n interesting idea that happens in real life but isn't really portrayed in media.

For one that is horrible, I was taught from an early age that just because I have autism it isn't a excuse for my actions. I still am morally responsible for my actions.

Honestly, I would have shot the guy who used his neurodivergent card to get away with rape.. rape is bad. There is no good rape (consensual non-con is still consenting But it can still be harmful. So please for the love of God communicate on that)

Oh come on it could be fun, Especially if this is two neurodivergents Who are incorporating their freak in bed.

"Yes senpai, talk dirty to me about your love of trains, Tell me about those big strapping cannons on these warships, So that you could use your own strapping Cannon and ram your massive ship straight into my port. Fire away!"

Come on somebody can make that hot. But it's also fucking hysterical

Or tell me about your masterpiece Transformers collection,

Or Legos or Bionicle (use the Bionicle casing as a giant dildo)

Or trains. Fucking trains are so easy to make innuendo it's comical

Rule 34: If it exists, there's porn of it.

I say go ahead, and I say it as a fellow neurodivergent. In real life, I find that the most major effect of autism when it comes to sex is that I have absolutely no idea when my wife is in the mood for it and I can't tell if she's enjoying it unless she says so, but this isn't real life so knock yourself out.

It’s good that you’re thinking critically about the implications of these ideas before diving in. The first concept leans into fetishization, which can be tricky but isn't inherently bad if handled with self-awareness and nuance. The second one, though, risks reinforcing harmful stereotypes, even if it's meant to be satirical. Since it's inspired by a real-life injustice, it might be worth exploring in a way that challenges the ableist mindset rather than just replicating it. Either way, execution will be everything framing, tone, and intent will determine how it's received.
