It appears there are several locations where, if you hit enter, it publishes the chapter instantly instead of moving down. I keep having to delete my drafts and recopy them to remove the accidental publishing when I just meant to edit the draft. Especially bad if this happens in the middle of an unpublished block, as I then have to delete everything following and repost all of it one by one in order to correct the mistake. We need an option to unpublish option in addition to the delete option (short term, only enabled for a couple hours if nothing else has been added to it by other writers) to address accidents without needing to do deletions or involve mods. Either that or an "are you sure you want to publish this" popup to prevent accidents, and maybe "there are preceding chapters that have not been published. Do you want to publish all drafts preceding this chapter as well?" to prevent hanging mis-publishes also (it's a little weird you can publish a chapter that is the child of an unpublished chapter in the first place).
I actually made use of the ability to have a "gap" in your story a few times. It's a nice way to "hide" a chapter But other then that, I agree. It doesn't happen that often to me, but when it does it is rather annoying.
I never understood how you would be able to publish a chapter as you can only see the button when the parent chapters are already published. That's pretty much a bug. Well, this is only a workaround but you don't have to "recopy" the chapters. Simply delete all chapters necessary, go to your Recently Deleted list, and restore the chapters. Suggestions should go to the Suggestions subforum and the first post should be liked to vote for it.
Yeah, that sounds frustrating. An "Unpublish" option or at least a confirmation popup would definitely help avoid accidental publishing. The ability to publish a chapter while its parent is still a draft also seems like something that could use a fix. Hopefully, they add some safeguards soon!
