Hmm I'm gonna say that yes equipment swapping is possible.

In that case doing equipment swap seems smart here.

executioner's axe with a vibrantly glowing blade and Lemiel gasps, "this is The Weight of Righteous Justice... An angelic weapon, probably belonged to one of the unfortunate angels we saw back in the nest. It's a weapon that increases in effectiveness based on it's opponent.... According to the identify spell, what this really means is that it does extremely high damage to beings from or related to the Tower Below, but is almost useless against anything else... Also it can only be wielded by angels or those who are marked by the Tower Above,"

Can Yulia even wield the axe? If she can, then eh might as well give it a try.

I do however think our main source of damage should be magic based.

And also, while we fought Ash ages ago, this is an archdemon and Yulia is alone.

I propose the full program with Energize and Undermine and then unload all our spells

In addition to that however, I also want to jug some grenades. We certainly have enough of them. Fragmentation and Incendiary should be good.

The Cloak of Turbulent Waves is a big get, that'll deal with Ash's archery in his first form. Energize doesn't work on Yulia since she has the Faithless passive, but Undermine on Ash should be fine. Grenades should be good as well, we have plenty and now's the time to use them. The axe should come in handy if Ash tries to enter melee range, and will be useful against Aqua in that future fight.

Were the spiders 3rd? I thought they were fourth. Well, we have a knife of cutting through threads, so that seems promising. Otherwise any kind of wide area attack (like blizzard or grenades) should be good, and then any other magic also works. Also nice to know the axe works.

HELL YEAH YULIA WRECK HIS CRUSTY ASS. Damn that was cathartic.

For the spiders, and all enemies going forward, we have the exact numbers for the encounters. (For the early fights, including the head priest and Ash, the specific numbers weren't shown so all I could do was reread the fight and outline their abilities).

So one issue we had the first time was that we failed a trap check roll beforehand and Yulia was bound. Another was that we didn't have great ways of dealing with the webbing. As Boodalian said, we should borrow Goma's web-cutting knife, and use incendiary grenades and fire magic to keep the spiders from setting up webs. Besides that, a Mass Undermine should be good, followed by the usual onslaught of offensive magic.

I'm not worried about this one, or the next one (a rematch with the Lem and the Mind Flayers) since we still have the Illustone. (Feeling very vindicated about that, people have suggested trading it in to Alide and I've always said we might need it again). ((Also, those fights were close together, 135 for the spiders and 142 for the Mind Flayers. That's around where I caught up too))
The next big one will be The Kraken, which we would have lost anyways (the difficulty was 29) but also someone had the bright idea of using lightning magic underwater. The space *might* fill up with water for that round, but either way that'll be tough. ((Chapter 211 for reference, will post the exact rolls when we get to that fight))

Excellent, that went a lot better then I thought it would.

Time for spiders, this was so long ago I don't even remember it. I think most of the battle approach has already been covered, so I add what's really important here.

    A proper Final Boss BGM:

As I expected the spider fight was a blowout. Shame we used a rolled 19 on a fight with a -50 difficulty.

Anyway, here's the stats for the original fight:
The big thing to try is the Illustone. We might be able to end this fight outright, although the Tower might have made Lem and co real for the sake of this fight so we'll need other tactics.

Fortunately we're immune to Undermine thanks to Faithless so that's one thing down. For equipment, I don't think we have any anti-psionic stuff we can use. But when I was reviewing our list of items in the inventory and party I saw the halo, which we should put on Yulia going forward. Blizzard was effective last time, so let's keep that up. I think this is another problem we can solve with Mass Undermine and the barrage of offensive spells and grenades, but I wonder if Open Sesame might free this imposter Boarchiel from the influence of the mindflayers.

I knew keeping this thing for all those years would come in handy, muahahahahaha!

Actually we only ever used it on the Old Mind, so there's no telling how effective it will be against Lem and co.

I think the reason we never bothered with the Halo for Yulia is because she's undead, meaning she should just revive anyway. But then again, that's just a theory, might as well use the Halo here.

Anyways, Emmie has us pretty covered here, we should be pretty well guarded against anything Lem and co can throw at us. Boarchiel will be the biggest problem here, as the Illustone will probably not work on her.

And yes, shame that warider disappeared. We lost a few voices along the way.

I agree, Emmie's plan looks good

Between the illustone and the ring I would guess that most things the mind flayers can do will be entirely ineffective. Otherwise I think barrage of spells should do the trick.

Funny idea, but can you use Open to forcibly teleport someone? Because if so you can also just try teleporting someone a long way up.
