If you had three wishes, what would you use them for?

GyroscopicGraphite brought up an interesting point. Say you had a standard genie in a bottle scenario. Three wishes, the following rules:
    • no obtaining more wishes from the wishes
    • no altering the past
    • no compound wishes
Other than that, no rules. Nothing you wish can get the genie to say "actually, there are four rules." And your wish won't be monkey's pawed or genied: it will be unadulterated, exactly as a reasonable person would interpret your wish to mean (the genie is not a mind reader and is not going to be able to understand bizarre meanings).

    My three wishes:
    1. No child's innocence will ever be destroyed again.
    2. No human will ever suffer from starvation again.
    3. No human will ever try to violate the dignity of another human again.

    1. I wish that someone would love me for me.
    2. I wish that I was worthy of that love.
    3. I wish that I know how I will inevitably fuck Wish 2 up, so I can accidentally make sure that Wish 1 never happens.

Okay if I’m being very Brave and Noble:
    1. I’d wish that being a billionaire was illegal (millionaires can stay but ONLY because “who wants to be a millionaire” is a comfort show for me, and “who wants to win 1ook” is sadly less interesting as a concept)
    2. I’d wish that there was global and enshrined respect for all types and shapes of people
    3. I’d wish for everyone’s empathy to be set to a solid 10/10

    If I’m being selfish:
    1. I’d wish chronic illness wasn’t a thing
    2. I’d wish I had Elf ears
    3. I’d wish for more Porcupine Tree albums

1: I wish all of my wishes turn out exactly as I want them to.
2: I wish people had to obey me. (I could get in to see world leaders and have them stop wars, go to prisons and have prisoners turn their lives around, etc)
    3: I wish I had an IQ of 300

    On a more lighthearted note,

    1. I wish that my metabolism would adjust so that, on average, my usual caloric intake is just under maintenance, so I'm always slightly underfed.
    2. I wish that my dice rolls would be slightly less random, so it's not so swingy on either side of the dm screen.
    3. I wish that the writers/directors/suits of the Western entertainment industry would be replaced with people who are more concerned with customer satisfaction than shareholder satisfaction.

I'd wish all living beings from now on maintain a subjective morality of increasing the well-being of all living beings, and work towards that goal using the 80/20 rule to determine the minimum effort during their lifetime.

I guess one is fine for now. Two left for selfish things.

My exact thought process when writing that was something like this (it might sound a little weird but hear me out).

    1. I wish the genie knew everything there is to know about Minecraft.
    2. I wish I had access to the console commands from Minecraft adjusted to real life
    3. I wish the genie was free (just because).

For those who may not know, Minecraft is a sandbox game (the most popular, in fact), and the console commands from any sandbox game tend to include various abilites such as spawning items, entities, giving the player abilities such as flight or invincibility, the list goes on.
I can also set myself to Creative mode, which gives the aforementioned flight and invinvibility alongside a menu that lets me instantly get an infinite amount of whatever I want, including bread, apples, diamonds, armor, and anything else I may want.

I could also give other trusted individuals this Creative mode, perhaps creating a brigade of nigh-divine figures to change the world (dear god I hope do) towards a better direction.

    1. Genie give me self-discipline so that I can develop good habits like exercising and eating healthy and so that I can consistently work all the projects I want to finish!!!

    ...two more wishes...

    2. I wish I was a social type and excelled in social situations.

A big part of 'succeeding' in life is who you know, who you get to know, and getting along well with them.

That should be enough to set me straight. Now how do I use the last wish to change the world for the better? Simple and clean world peace? I kinda want it be more meaningful, more punitive.

    3. I wish there are immediate repercussions for those who commit intentionally immoral, harmful, malicious acts.

I feel like a lot of society's problems are caused by people who get away with their selfish, destructive behavior because they don't have to deal with the consequences of their actions. I bet they'll do something about climate change if their home keeps getting destroyed!

1 universal basic income for every human being on earth from birth until death to do away with poverty and the unbalanced income gap

2 free public transportation for the elderly and disabled in every country on earth given how marginalized they are in today's world and shamed by many

3 for Trump to be discovered in bed with Putin & Stephen Miller and dragged before a Democrat-controlled House & Senate so that maggot can be publicly humiliated and shamed badly enough for Melania to say fuck the prenup,I'm divorcing this sick piece of shit.....

If you're gonna do that, why not just wish for a Death Note book and write his name in it?

It's not about the end result, it's about the message, and the satisfaction of seeing judgement carried out in full.

Ah, for me it's more about the end result, I'm happy just so long as he doesn't have a way to influence power.

I think maybe it would be cool if the list turned into a Death Note and then we could auto-kill everyone on it, no additional death or risk of a real-life Kira required.

I feel that as a punishment, I would rather choose that the person becomes fully aware of the consequences of their actions and becomes completely empathic with the victims.

Oh, sounds like that cruel curse on Angelus\Angel in Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Punishing a person by basically erasing the previous person and replacing them with a new person and making that new person suffer for what they didn't do is a very dubious type of justice.

    Sounds like a strawman.

    Nothing in
suggests erasing and replacing the person.
It only suggests adding knowledge and broadening their mind.

Making someone (more) empathic is a change so drastic that it basically replaces personality. Memories do stay the same, but the person is different. You create a new person based on the old one and make them suffer for the deeds of the person that existed before (and doesn't exist anymore).
