Forum threads in subforums are displayed in batches of 20. Currently, 6 of the 15 (unpinned) threads on the first page of the General subforum are "looking for a story" thread, which tend to have 1 or 2 posts and then die out. I'd like to see an official thread for such requests so they don't push more substantial threads off the first page.
I agree, mainly because on other sites like MCForum and The Changing Mirror, this is a great way to find new stories you'd never heard of.
I guess I would prefer a Looking for Story forum. Or subforum, though that might not be visible enough. For finding new stories, there's already the Story Feedback forum. Finding a Story threads shouldn't be abused to advertise other users' stories.
