I want to only publish certain chapters of my story, however it stays that 'This chapter will be published automatically when the story is approved and published.' Is there any way that I can get my story approved and published but keep certain chapters only in drafts? There's a lot of stories and paths that I want to write but I want to wait until I have a lot more chapters for them written before publishing them.
My recommendation would be to save drafts of those chapters you don't want published yet, then fill them in later. I don't think there's a way to publish without having all your draft chapters in a story published along with it. Note that this is only an issue before you first publish the story. When the story is first published, it'll bring all saved chapters with it. However, AFTER it's published, you can have as many saved draft chapters that aren't published as you want and release them as you're ready.
Yeah, write the chapters you want published immediately first (and put the rest into a text file) and then after publication, add drafts of chapters you wish to publish later. I think you can even chain drafts and publish them one at a time.
