I got two within a day of each other in regards to the Tower of Voices Second Run whcih had not even had two chapters of content at the time. These really seem like scams, but anyone else get these and have any insight on them?
Yes, actually, although it was a month or so back. They wanted to make a comic out of Marcie and Gina reviews(lol) I couldn't be 100% sure it was a scam, so I just ignored them. Don't see them in my messages anymore, so I assume they already got banned.
Yeah that was pretty much my experience. This seems likely a scam, but hard to prove it so just gonna ignore it.
Yeah, I had one of these a month or so ago. I politely said thanks but no thanks and they left me alone.
I have done work for apps that use adult stories that contacted me through messages before. So it's not guaranteed to be a scam. What I do is lookup the company they say they work for check to make sure it's legit. Then contact the company requesting verification that this is an employee and legitimate request.
I mean it's never been a company so far. Just individuals being like. Hey I make comics, I think your story (that I clearly haven't read based on follow up questions I ask) would be a great comic.
I had someone pull this on me. I was initially flattered that they liked my story but their replies were AI-generated junk and I stopped interacting as soon as they brought up the idea of turning it into a comic.
I've been ignoring them but someone just left one as a comment on my story, which I don't seem to be able to delete?
I do make comics, and I have done them to other's stories, so it isn't necessarily a scam. You do need to be wary, particularly if they want to be paid for it. While there are people who do that legitimately too, it's not often they cold call out of the blue.
If someone wants to do that, they could start a forum thread, and users who might be interested could then contact them. Starting a sales pitch with something that is most likely a lie isn't quite trustworthy.
