A change taking multiple days at least means that anyone undergoing the change can see it coming so it won't be a complete surprise in the morning. Also, a society that goes through this, would likely not suffer from gender dysphoria or at least would have a chance in fixing it just by arranging hangouts that make 50% of the participants change their gender. (Which does give potential for a comedic story where someone has trouble because they repeatedly try to change gender via this process but don't get lucky.)
For comedic purposes, the transformation time could be shortened to half a day or a night's sleep. Which would mean a person could check into a motel, and if the nearby rooms all had the same gender, they would wake up switched. Or a spouse could go to work, and the workplace was out of balance, so they arrived home after a long shift, the opposite gender from the one they left.
581. A mother deals with her son's bully A mother discovers that some young hunk (19M) is bullying her son (18M). To make things worse, the bully is now blackmailing the son with some embarrassing footage he took of him. And now that little shit is making demands from the mother! There is only one way for the mother to protect her sweet boy and ensure the bully doesn't release said material. She's going to seduce the bully's parents and make them force the bully to delete the material.
582. Laying Down the Law You are the lawman in a town with ...unusual citizens... Call them monsters, demi-humans, Homo Paranaturals, or whatever you wish, the issue is that their cultures and natural urges cause a lot of friction and you have to keep things from escalating too badly. A pack of werewolves just moved in and they at least are simple to deal with. Not easy, just simple. According to the helpful manual, you just have to establish dominance by overpowering their Alpha and they'll be eating out of your hand. ...Wait what? The new Alpha has to fuck everyone in the pack to establish dominance? What's that? The other demi-humans heard about this and now they want you to do the same to them?! Your job is about to get a lot harder. (Pun intended.)
Reminds me of the frustrations of trying to set up and keep a roleplay group going. You plan hangouts with specific individuals in order to change your sex asap but people keep dropping out which shifts the ratio. Then your friends start changing sex because of the skewed ratio and now you gotta redo the group for who your inviting with no guarantee it'll work because your friends are just gonna drop like always!
As someone trying to get yet another (not-sexy) RPG campaign started, this is difficult enough without any genderbending shenanigans involved.
583. Untouchable Alas, you're required to followed the same laws and customs as everyone else, but you still have one major edge: no matter how much people may want to, they can't actually stop you. You walk naked into a coffee shop and staff is outraged. The manager demands you leave. When you refuse, he calls the cops. They arrive, lights flashing... but though they really want to arrest you, they find they just can't. Spoiler: meta I've previously expressed my bewilderment about stories in which the protagonist immediately becomes an All Powerful Demigod who can do whatever he wants, at any time he wants, to whoever he wants, and people will just meekly go along with it. I understand that power fantasies can be fun for a while, but it's struggle, evolution, growth that keeps a story interesting in the long run. If you give a character unlimited power right at the start of the story, you risk making that power (and the story itself) feel normal, ordinary, even boring. So this is my attempt (or idea for an attempt, really) to have both: your only real superpower is that you're physically untouchable. People will be shocked if you violate social customs, they'll want to stop you if you break laws, and they will cry if you harm them... but there's nothing they can do about it.
