Tower of Voices: Second Run Voting Thread

So, to be clear, this would have happened regardless of the path we chose. When Yulia was at this same crossroad and chose the angelic path, a demon showed up and tried to attack her. If we do as the angel says, we’ll have to fight a demon anyways. And she is likely doing this at the behest of the Tower Above so her comments about our ability to challenge that route are biased. They might not be wrong, but she’d say the same even if we were too weak.

If Take does choose to try to kill her, I suspect she’ll fight back. She wasn’t sent as part of a test, the Tower Below wants Chosen to go down this path. Since we have to fight anyways, we might as well bite the bullet and handle this now.

Take, equip the items we got from Bellows and say that you will walk past the angel without killing her if she allows it. And get ready to fight. Keep in mind she’ll be physically strong and likely has magic, but her wings are likely damaged for real and will be a weak point.

 

If we have to fight in either case, sticking to your choice seems better.

Prepare for the fight and try to proceed but do not attack unless you forced to.

 

Newest Chapter: I think I might have been unclear. The angel and the pillar she is attached to are physically blocking the path forward. Killing her is the only way to open the path to the stairs.

 

I would have clarified this seeming misunderstanding earlier, but I've been a bit busy and didn't realize I should have done that before now so you could change your votes and suggestions accordingly until it was too late.

I have a fourth option we could try. Step 1: We try to place the tentacle armor on the bound angel. Step 2: We let her stew in it for a while. Step 3: We try to use the whip to subordinate her. If this works, we now have a mindbroken angel to fight for us. If it fails at any step, just finish her.

 

Or we could first take her visor, which she still seems to have, even if it is cracked. Then equip The Crushers and try breaking the chains using their increased strength.

 

I suspect my words won't matter, but I am going to try anyway:
Taking the easy path might make things easier in the short term, but will leave you weaker in the long term, thus making your mission harder, Take.
Testing the Crushers is a good idea, though. Try taking the angel's visor, if you can. Then equip the Crushers and attempt to break the chains. But if you succeed - leave, don't fight her.

 

I do want to apologize that your suggestions have mostly been overridden so far Moonblack. I swear it is not intentional, but the story will go with the suggestion that has more push if conflicting suggestions occur and it simply has been 2-1 against you most of the time. It makes me feel bad cause I definitely don't want to seem like I am ignoring any of the viewers or weighing any specific viewers suggestions more than any other.

You should go Above Take, your entire reason to be here is to making up for your mistake. Going the harder path would show your determination to actually atone for your sisters and brothers.

(Huh, that turned out even better than I hoped.)

Alright, boss time! Since this is the final opponent on the floor there's no reason to hold back. Take, keep your distance and use Force Lance twice – might as well use the opportunity to master the spell. Be ready to dodge in case the incubus tries to attack from range, be it with magic or an item.

Malphiel, keep your distance and flank him, then attack from range using Angelic Rays.

If the boss is still standing by the time you're out of mana, Take, you will need to get close and distract him while Malphiel keeps casting until she too runs out of magic.

(Anyone have any suggestions for better tactics?)

 

Honestly don’t mind being outvoted on this one, this is a better result than my plan would’ve gotten. Although maybe we should hang onto the armor for when we run into someone more deserving to wear it…

As for tactics, I’m assuming Take took off the gauntlets? If we’re wearing those we would want to go all in by wearing the matching helmet and having Take tank while Malphiel fires magic from the back. If not, we go for the usual strategy as Moonblack described. The only thing I’d add is taking advantage of Cloak and/or the smoke bombs, as well as the caltrops. Caltrops should go first, set them between the incubus and Malphiel to prevent a direct charge at her.

 

If Take has The Crushers still on she is unable to use magic anyway, and probably not able to use caltrops either. In that case putting helmet on would be best.

 

I will clarify she did take the crushers off, because otherwise she would not have been able to manipulate the key. A mistake on my part as I forgot to address that.

 

Small addition to tactics for this fight: If it comes down to close quarters combat, do not hesitate to play dirty, Take. Things like poking him in the eyes or kicking his crotch.

 

The tactics look good to me.

Remind me: Do they have to climb the stairs right away, or can they stay on this floor for a bit without having to fight the incubus a second time? Also, will Malphiel's arousal wear off by the time they get to the next floor, or not?
