@Elfie @lady-lux They left the pair behind, and soon the two reached the ramp. It was opened. They saw Kaelaen waiting by the ramp. Her arms were crossed below her bust as her eyes scanned the surroundings. Her posture was not tense, but there was something...predatory, in the way she stood. As if she could move at moment;s notice. "Oh, you are already here?" She turned and glanced at the two. "Thought you would talk for longer. Jura has not finished yet." She paused, then turned to Nami. "If you want, we can depart now." She looked at Seri. "Jura should join you soon."
Spoiler: Persuasion 1+ 18 Vs DC 10 - greater success Olena's words are received with nodding of heads. This little argument, seemed to convince the team members of your competence. You did not even had to fall back on sex appeal. "Ah... You are right boss. Sorry." Triset, Engineer nodded his head with an apologetic expression on his face. "Thru kghu, fi-fi-fu." Daw the towering Heavy Weapons specialist, made a comment, but Olena could not make it out. Jackie, the formal imperial scout snorted. "They were not even requisitioned a camo armour." She shook her head.
@majus @lady-lux Seri feels a little bolstered, as she looks over Kaelaen admiringly, impressed by the woman’s confidence, the alertness in her stance. She’d be terrified heading out there alone, after her experiences. And she can’t shake a sense of concern for Nami, especially given some of those tell tale little signs earlier that recent events haven’t been kind. “Sure, don’t let me hold either of you up.” She nods, giving Kaelaen an approving nod, before turning back to Nami. “I’ll see you soon, yeah?”
Olena allowed a happy hum to escape her, vulpine tail swinging in rhythm alongside her pace. "See, I knew Jackie would get it." Without further incident, the group presumably continued their journey through the jungle.
@majus @Elfie The thought of leaving Seri behind wrenches at Nami deep inside. But it can’t be avoided forever, and it won’t be for long. Some things have to be done. She smiles and nods to Seri. “Of course. Very soon. Stay safe.” She glances to Kaelaen. “We’re all going to have to look after each other here.”
@Elfie @lady-lux Kaelaen, looked sharply at Seri, then slowly nodded her head. Slowly she turned to look at Nami. "I will look after you." She nodded her head, then loosened her shoulders, something cracked as she moved them in circular way. "So, boss, where to first?" She asked Nami, a small smile spreading on her lips.
The group resumed their travel through the forest. The march through the forest, was nerve wrecking... But also boring. As they continued walking through the forest, Jackie commented that they should be glad it was not a desert planet the views there, were simply, dull. Spoiler: ? 8 As the night was falling, the group noticed lights in the far away. "It's a farm." Jackie said as she aimed the rifle in the direction and adjusted a scope. "And there is at least one... No, two people there. Humans." She said as the group was still hidden in forest, on the border of a small valley.
@majus @lady-lux Seri tries - and fails - to pull her borrowed jacket tighter around her, and has to content herself with tucking her hands under her arms, leaning against the entryway to the ship’s main bay. She gives the other two space to plan their next steps, watching them as she waits for Jura, doing her best to suppress her misgivings. Get yourself together Serillia. You always do this. Cling tight to the first person to show you kindness. It’s tragic, it’s pathetic. It’s not Adara’s words, but Adara’s voice she hears in her head. She inclines her neck, hiding behind her fading blue bangs as she waits.
Nami looks to Kaelaen. Her sworn protector – she wishes she had time to find out more about her. But then, maybe there are some things she’s better off not knowing? Surely nobody’s past matters as much as what they do next… “Let’s go up towards the markets,” she says. “We can see if anyone’s advertising work, try to figure out what there’s demand for. And I lost something near there that, maybe – no, probably not.” She shakes her head slightly, trying to clear away that thought. “Did you – have you brought a weapon? The Dockmaster told me they don’t like people using blasters, but…I don’t know how strict they are about it.”
Seri looks after the two, as Kaelaen and Naim walked away. Soon, she was left alone with her thoughts, to the sound of soft machinery working in the background. Spoiler: Perception 10 Vs DC 12 - fail Suddenly, she felt something pressing against her throat, something sharp. "Don't move, bitch." A voice hissed behind her, a female one. The blade pushed harder against her throat. "Or move, and I will see how you bleed, like a pig~" The viciousness in the voice heavy.
The two walked slowly, leaving the Zeltron and ship behind. Soon, they left the dock and were walking through the corridor. Kaelaen shook her head. "No, Unfortunately I did not find anything that was simply combat focused. We should consider acquiring some weapons." She paused, as if she realised something. "Ah don't worry, I and my body are enough to take care of any problems we might face. I am no stranger to combat" She assured Nami with pride and certainty in her voice. "What did you want to pickup?" She asked curiously. "We can go and check the thin out."
Seri locks up, eyes wide, body paralysed by the grip of fear and despair. “I’m - I’m not - I’m not moving - puh-please.” She squeaks softly, barely able to get the words out. She searches for any sign of Kaelaen and Nami, but they’ve passed out of sight by now. Still close enough if she screamed? Maybe, but all they’d be likely to find is her bleeding on the ground. Could Nami save her that quickly? Tears well in her eyes as she despairs at how unfair this feels. I was so close. She tries to control her breathing, hands raised meekly. “What-whatever this is… we can - can talk about it. Th-there isn’t anything here. No credits, nuh-nothing. I-it’s not worth the truh-trouble to you.”
Olena took a knee as she looked at the farm. Depending on the time of day, it might be worth it to try to secure some space to rest before moving on... But that would require securing the cooperation of the farmsteaders. "Could be useful, for a few different things. Hideout, supply cache... Jackie, Trisk, what do you think about heading down and trying to talk them into at least sharing information about the area with us? I'm leaning towards it, but if you two can't talk to people, we'll figure something out." It would admittedly be a disappointment if it did turn out that they both had trouble getting people to come around - she had chosen both humans explicitly for interacting with the locals, after all... Well, their other skills too, but that's besides the point.
