The woman shoved Seri against the boxes. She now noticed the violet skin of her assailant. "Shut up!" He pressed the blade against Zeltron's throat. "I want fucking pay back, bitch!" She growled. "Now, hand behind your back, slut!"
"The Empire filled the Galaxy for two decades. The place has nothing to do with affiliation. Maybe they are owners of large area and retired here?" Jackie suggested. "Wait a minute, I am not a people's person! Why me?" Trisk protested. "Yes, why, oh brave leader?" Jackie raised an eyebrow, but was not opposed to the idea.
The gangers did not jump from the valley. For some reason, the sight of Echani, was a deterrent enough - was it instinct? Naomi could not tell. Soon, the two reached market - from this point, Nami remembered how to get to the clinique! She did have a meeting set up with the owner - well, it was well past the time, but still.... They could go around the market and talk with different shop owners... Or try they luck and just listen, without asking...
"Because you're humans?" Olena replied with a questioning tone, arching a brow as if to suggest Jackie and Trisk were the weird ones for bringing it up. "Even some rebel sympathizers treat xenos differently. If you guys talk to the locals, even if they don't support us they will be less likely to try to report us to the remnants." "If they make a fuss about wanting to talk to a leader or something, I will come over. Otherwise, just keep things simple and polite. Okay?"
Kriff. Seri supposes she can’t blame the other woman. Whatever she endured - probably the same as Seri herself - it’s entirely her fault. She hesitates, throat flexing against the knife. “I… I’m sorry. Im honestly so sorry.” She turns her head slowly, carefully, trying to avoid the knife as best she can. “But tell me - honestly - you wouldn’t have done the same?” Any moment, any word could be it for her. But she has to try. Guilty or not, she’s not giving up. She can’t.
Looking around, Nami took a moment to breathe, and to adjust her clothes a little. She needed to appear neat, composed, polite – not desperate, but not too threatening either. The way her borrowed outfit hugged her curves might be useful here, if she played her cards right. And it wasn’t like she was holding many aces as it was. Passive listening wouldn’t get them far, and the clinic – she didn’t feel like trying to deal with that malfunctioning droid until they were out of other options. She set out to look for traders and ship captains to talk to; calling on all her charms, and all her skill at reading people, to seek opportunities. Anyone who needed something fixed, something delivered – jobs that she and the others could take on…
Trisk frowned, as he raised his hand to object, only to look at Olena, before turning to look at Daw, and dropping his hand. "Kriff." Escaped his mouth, as Jackie's lips curved into a small smirk. "Let's go, fellow traveler... Or, for security of cover, should I say, dad~" Jackie turned and started walking. "No way! If anything, I will be your husband, who managed to get a younger babe!" Trisk quickly followed Jackie. It took a couple of minutes as the duo reached the house. There was a pause, as a third figure showed up. After a couple of moments, Jackie and Trisk entered the building.
As she turned to the side, she recognized a familiar face of Twi'lek. She only saw her for a short time, but this was the woman that she knocked out during her escape. And later, a woman whom she saw in bondage, tortured.... ! Seri grunted as she was pressed harder against the boxes. "I will not repeat it - hands behind your back!" The woman hissed into Series ear.
Spoiler 15 The duo walked around the market, seeking jobs, opportunities, anything! And luckily, they actually did. The first one, was a recruiter for... Pirates. They would recruit people with ships to their group, in return for part in spoils. High risk,high reward job. The second one was work at night club - both as escort and dancers. The pay was small, but the tips could balance the scale. Last, there were a couple of smaller jobs, requiring manual work - cleaning, janitors, repairs - low pay, taking care of apartment complexes. Low pay jobs, that would barely keep them afloat...
“Alright, alright!” Seri blurts out, slowly folding her hands behind her back. It’s almost a shock to her, the way she finds her panic giving way to… anger. Frustration at herself, for being caught off guard - at the Twi’lek, for the obvious reasons - unfairly, at Jura: where is she? She closes her palms into fists, tensing, waiting for any opening, for the moment that the Twi’lek woman will need to relax the knife to bind her…
Opportunities. Better than nothing. Nami found a quiet corner to make sure they weren’t overheard before talking over what they found with Kaelaen. “All right.” She counted on her fingers as she tried to order her thoughts. “We can tell the others what options we’ve found. Anyone who wants to leave and join the pirates – or wants to just go their own way…I guess that’s their choice. It’s…” She winced at what she was about to say, but pressed on. “It’s fewer people for us to look after. “For the rest, any work they’re comfortable doing – whatever it pays – it’ll all add up.” She shook her head. “I’ll volunteer to go work at the club. If – if I can’t find any paying patients, I have to do whatever else I can. Until we have enough to move on.” She looked up at Kaelaen. “What do you think? Would you be in charge of – of security?”
"Good." The woman said as Seri put her hands behind her back. For a moment, there was some movement behind her, then seri felt that the woman must have put away the knife, because she grabbed her wrist with both of her hands and put a rope around it.
Kaelaen winced. "I am not sure about that - if we went all about it, you could convince the rest to join pirates... Temporarily. But division?" She shook her head. "I don't thin you will find volunteers for that." She smiled after a moment. "Of course, you can count on my support." She nodded her head with assurance. "So, you want to let the rest just disband?" She asked after a moment.
If this is her only chance, Seri knows she has to take it. Drawing on all her dexterity and dancer’s tricks, she thrusts her boot backward, trying to catch the Twi’lek in the leg, and force her off balance. At the same time, she yanks her hands to the side, gripping the rope and pulling as hard as she can.
