Hello! I'm working on porting over a setting that's used in other CYOA's as a CHYOA story. However, certain elements of the setting are a bit difficult to bring in line with site rules so I was hoping for clarification and perhaps commentary on ideas on how any rough edges could be smoothed out. Let's start with what I assume is fine, but should check to make sure, regarding humanoids. The setting would have small humanoids in it, but not in the sense of "could be mistaken for human". Think fairies the size of your hands or knee-high furries. I'm assuming that as long as these creatures seem otherwise "mature" through personality and developed physical features, they wouldn't be considered "atypically short" for purposes of rule enforcements. The second is a bit more thorny. The setting also includes parasites. I know a few "brain parasite" stories exist and the rules around that have been addressed several times, but these are more creatures that attach to the body or feed on it's fluids. They don't resemble real world animals, except for being insect themed (not generally resembling any existing insect), but they are also generally not sentient. They are scientifically "altered" alien "things". Now that's definitely toeing a line. I feel in spirit it's in the same category as plants or robots, but could definitely need some reworks. I don't want to change the setting too much, but one possible work around is leaning into their "biomechanical" nature. Making clear they were produced in a lab, function more like machines than animals, and maybe even give them a mix of fleshy and clearly robotic parts. Ultimately I'm not fond of completely rewriting them, but obviously you do what you have to do! Insight would be appreciated.
Ticks and leeches attach to the human body and feed on fluids, so similar parasites already exist IRL. Unless you were trying to have sex with them, I would not have thought a parasite feeding off a person's fluids was even a sexual encounter.
