Whenever the next site update happens, can it show branch chapter length too on the linking pages as some stories maintain the same story length but have tons of branches
What do you mean by branch chapter length? Do you mean some kind of average number of branches? E.g., three stories have both 7 chapters. In story A, each chapter has 2 child chapters with a total chapter depth of 3. In story B, the introduction chapter has 2 child chapters, and each of the child chapters has 1 child chapter, and 1 grandchild chapter, with a total chapter depth of 4. Story C is linear and has only 1 branch with a chapter depth of 7. Story A has 3 branching points for 7 chapters Story B has 1 branching point for 7 chapters Story C has 0 branching points for 7 chapters So you could calculate a number like A = 3/7 = 0.43 B = 1/7 = 0.14 C = 0/7 = 0.00 Something like that?
We want to make things readable without needing to be explained. Not sure what the best way would be. Listing raw chapters under each link would have the same issue (is this a 14 chapter long single line or 14 chapters that are just character choices with nothing past them?), but covering every contingency would be hard.
Well, there are two more stats Alternative Paths ("Extra routes across the story. At each branch, every route beyond the first adds one.") and Choice Points ("Places where one chapter leads to two or more routes.") now, though they are absolute numbers and don't express how branchy the story actually is. While they are certainly interesting, you would need to put them into relation to the total number of chapters. Maybe even including the chapter depth into the equation.
