I will say I don't mind the long chapters as they tend to be joy to read in and of themselves independent of all the sex! But at the same time if you keep a relatively solid schedule for the vignettes, smaller regular doses can be great as well!
I debated whether or not to write this. Apparently Vignettes pt. 2 earned me my very first Dislike. I guess for as long as I've been going on this story, that's not surprising, but I think the thing that bugs me the most is that it was anonymous. I don't have anyone to ask where I went wrong, or what I could do to improve, or even see whether or not it was just some troll who decided they wanted to be contrary. I'm genuinely frustrated by this. I get that someone isn't a fan of my work, I just want to know WHY.
Oh I wouldn't worry about it too much, most likely its just dude who suddenly decided he didn't like the free use genre, or how your storyline is pretty much the best on CHYOA!
Just published the third of five or six vignette pieces, before the last two "real" epilogue chapters. So fun fact, the DP scene was one of the big reasons this epilogue exists. DPs are one of my favorite sexual fetishes, and because of the "anal as rite of passage" thing I was doing in the main body of the story, getting my main character properly double-fucked was basically impossible. I just didn't want to leave it on the table. So I invented some story stuff, and built it with that in mind. The plot I'm actually going for in this sequence is going to show up a bit more in the next vignettes piece. The other trick was the Daniel thing. I wanted to show that not all of Alex's interactions turned out positively, and at the same time I wanted to show how someone could afford to live on their own as an unemployed teenager. Daniel was always meant to be a weird kid, and I don't think I really nailed that in his first named appearance at the orgy (that chapter stands out as the one I wish I'd done differently).
Yay! I finally got to write a scene for Rachel! And it's in-bounds without messing with Stone's stuff! I've been waiting for an excuse to do that for a while now. I knew the emotional focus was going to be between Alex and Pat, with Hope and Cassie as a secondary focus, but that left Rachel out in the cold specifically because she was off in college. Only one more episode of Vignettes to go before we're back to something more traditional until the end of the storyline.
Woo I'm excited to see what you came up with for Rachel!!! If I didn't have so much going on right now I'd be back in there updating my story-line too, since it would be good to explore how Rachel deals with the family as well.
Okay, I think I will delete my threads in this story, first Jonathan is still in use in edwards storyline, second I won't be able to continue the story before christmas - at least and third omechrons use of him bugs me so much that I don't know, if I want to continue anyway. Maybe I should stay with private stories and storylines.
Please don't delete anything. There's nothing wrong with what's there dude. Even if it is an "alternate continuity" or whatever, it's not like there aren't plenty of those. My route also differs heavily from other Alex routes in terms of content, and especially of other characters.
Okay! So yet another month-long writer's block cleared up. This represents the last of the vignettes. Two chapters to go and this route will be complete! I admit, there's no plot purpose for Alex's newest gangbang. I just decided that I wanted to put her in a gangbang. I may try to be a writer with a plan, but I do have to let my perv flag fly on occasion. In a stroke of luck, it looks like I'll be posting this route's final chapters on around the 1-year anniversary of starting to write it. My work on Alex's route isn't exactly novel-length, but it's pretty darn good. Novella for sure. My shortest chapter was 1,500 words, my longest in the 6,000 range, and a large number of my chapters were not far off that top end, usually clocking in around the 4,000 zone. I'm probably going to wrap this thing up at around 150,000 words eyeballing it. I'll have a complete accounting when I'm all done. I've been putting a lot of thought into what's next. I do still want to do the biker gang story, but I have a few other ideas I may consider tackling as well. We'll see. I definitely want to talk to you guys about it.
First time poster on the forum, very small time writer (YEARS ago), but just wanted to make clear how much I enjoy this story. Easily my favorite on CHYOA, and I've been reading for a few years here. I love the interwovenness (and forgive one or two continuity errors VERY easily). Brilliant work. Please do keep it all up.
Hey, another first time poster on the forum here, and i wanted to say that this story is my favorite here on Chyoa. Cant wait to see more of the story of Pat and Alex. And i´m also very interested on the rest of the story posted here. Besides, i would like to know what would be the life of an ordinary Sexworld family. Very curious to find out.
Hey guys. Merry Christmas I guess. Okay. So it's been months. Literally months. First I wanted to have this branch wrapped by the 1-year anniversary in October. When that went past, I decided to set a new goal for finishing by New Years, and that's looking... well, I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just can't get the words on the page. It's just not happening. I'm working on other crap. The game I'm working on is going great. The fans are really responding to it. But as far as this story, this site is concerned, that doesn't matter. It can't. I owe you guys a proper conclusion, and more work. I know that. Stone, I'm going to take you up on your offer. Maybe I have to get myself out of my head a bit to wrap this thing up.
It can definitely be hard. I feel you. Occasionally a break is in order and there's not much you can do to avoid it.
Well, that's that. Other than proofreads, I've finished writing the final chapter of Alex's route. Should be posting it Tuesday or Wednesday. I want to take a moment to look at some of the things I would improve on if I wrote this again, or ever tried to put together a version for ebook or something (though for this particular one that would be tricky, since the character doesn't belong to me and a few of the earliest chapters were written by other people). 1. Trish, Alex's Indian gym class friend who, like The Expanse's Alex Kamal (played by Cas Anvar), had a US southern accent. I wish I could have used her more. She was actually based on a girl I knew back in high school. I had a bit of a crush on her, though I discovered later she had a major weed problem, and this was back in the 90s before that became cool. I still think about her from time to time, even though I don't remember her name anymore. Trish seems like a wasted opportunity, she fell out of use as Hope gained prominence. 2. Daniel. I messed up on him, hard. He's easily my biggest regret. I wanted him to be WAY creepier than he ended up being, and his turn towards crazy during the Vignettes sequence seemed out of place. He was a minor "enemy," but he should have been treated with more respect. 3. Dr. Martin (math teacher). "Hey, let's put an old math professor and his insane views into this thing" and WHAT WAS I THINKING? No, no, no, no, no, I don't want to think about Dr. [Redacted] fucking anybody, why did I do that? 4. Update schedule. Writer's block hit me hard on this one, and I don't get why. I had an absolute blast writing for it. I may need to diversify projects, work on some different things, or at least more than one at a time so if I get stuck on one, I can do another. Stop my brain from getting into a rut.
Oof, been a little quiet around here lately. I've been enjoying watching this Sexworld premise unfold, even if some of the boxes it checks aren't really on my own personal scorecard. But what has kept me around is watching other writers flesh this all out, first by seeing Edwards21's robust story arc, then later watching stephenjohnson69 breathe new life into the setting and cast of characters. I have been wanting to dip my toes into this for quite some time (As fellow contributor stonehammer69 can attest in our DMs), but out of a mix of personal priorities, self-care, and very much trying to bite off way more than I can chew, I have been putting it off. Originally, the plan was to fill out the "Rachel" sub-plot of the Arton family, which has been sorely underutilized, especially in comparison to the breath of content spun out from her two other siblings. That's still very much on the docket, but as I've been reading and checking for updates of stephenjohnson69's entry into Pat's sub-plot, I have found myself invigorated to attempt to write my own Alex thread, but one that mirrors Stephen's work on Pat as closely as possible. Meaning the interactions with Pat and Alex (And mentions of what Alex is up to off-screen) will be incorporated from her point of view, as well as filling in any blanks not yet addressed. For example, something I don't believe has yet been addressed in Stephen's storyline is where Alex went after that first day, save for concern from both Sally and Ms. Birchir/Mari over her not going home that night. With the latter, I have considered working that into my explanation; in Edwards; plot, Alex ended up attending an orgy overnight, but someone called "Daemonfrog" worked on a new direction where Alex seemed tempted to pass on the orgy and take up Mari's offer to visit her home instead. If I were to pick that up, Alex could have her fun at Mari's place, but when it appears as though an overnight stay is not in the cards, or perhaps Alex is timid about why she would even ask to stay the night, she ducks out but with no real direction on where to go. At that point, she could run into one of her girlfriends from school Hope, who was described as living in a youth center in Edwards' plotline. Alex joins in with her and goes back to school the next day, which would pick things back up from where Stephen has been working. Speaking of which, Stephen's additions to his Pat plotline are still ongoing at time of writing, with there not having been an update in nearly two weeks. But I got more than enough material to crib off of, and will keep in tune with his updates in the meantime.
