It's Good to be the King In this tale from times past, the good King of Elyssia searches for a prospective Queen among his own subjects and those visiting from distant lands. You are the King, formerly a commoner, and your kingdom is having its tenth anniversary. Your advisors have suggested that it's time for you to find a Queen, which makes you the most eligible bachelor in the land. Will you court Alayna, the Warrior Queen? Does Lady Rosaline catch your eye? Perhaps you will rekindle your childhood romance with Pia, the silversmith's daughter? From noblewomen to peasant girls, from warrior maids to tavern wenches, from the shires of England to the Land of the Rising Sun... who among so many ladies will prove worthy to rule at the King's side? Or, will you simply enjoy your bachelor status to the fullest as the unwed ladies offer themselves to you? But the story goes beyond the search for a Queen. The Warlord Velimir threatens the peace of your Kingdom, and there may be schemes afoot among your nobles who resent that you, a commoner, have ascended to the throne. The mysterious Vixen roams the woods and plunders unwary travelers, and assassins or kidnappers may be hiding among the visitors from foreign lands. No matter where you go or what you do in this story, there's one thing you can be sure of: you are going to get some serious pussy. After all... There is also a list of characters planned for the story, complete with pictures of the leading ladies. Contributors are welcome and I plan to develop several threads myself. This is a "real" setting; there are no elves, dragons, or magical spells. However, I've taken liberties with history and softened the more unpleasant aspects of medieval life (no one is dying from the plague, there are a lot fewer rats, and the women shave their legs). I welcome feedback of all kinds!
In case any readers were wondering if there would ever be some actual sex in this story, there are new chapters at the end of the thread leading from the second option off the introduction!
Expansion on the "bathing pools" thread. I have a long weekend coming up, so I plan to spend at least part of the time fleshing out more of the story, introducing the rest of the characters on the main list and branching the existing storylines by adding choices. Right now, only the introduction has more than one option; that will hopefully change by next week. Incidentally, I try to provide illustrations here and there and match the action in the story where I can, but of course I can only work with what I can find. I chose the models for the various characters in the story based on what I thought they should look like, regardless of whether I had other pictures which showed them doing the stuff that I have planned for the story. For instance, it's going to be next to impossible for me to illustrate any two-girl scenes, just because I'm not likely to be able to find pictures of two given characters together - especially not in a period-appropriate setting! I'm afraid for some scenes, description and imagination will have to serve. No one has complained, of course; I just wanted to get that said up front. I very much appreciate all the likes and the comments! Glad to know the story is being enjoyed.

I had some real life going on, but I'm back at the story now, planning to update several threads - starting with Pia, the Silversmith's daughter.
I was inspired to add considerably more to the Vixen's thread... to read it from the beginning, choose the option to go for your morning ride at the Introduction. If you're familiar with the storyline, pick up where it last left off here.
Two more chapters added to the Vixen's storyline. I'll probably leave that one as it is for a while, and go to work on others.
The thread which starts with Valerie is one that I had the darndest time continuing; I just couldn't figure out where to take the story from that moment. I think that part of the problem is that I envisioned a story arc for pretty much every other female character, but not Valerie; she was always meant to be someone for the King to get a woman's perspective from (and of course, to have sex with). I don't actually want a storyline where she becomes Queen; that's not her purpose in this tale. I may re-write that initial chapter and see if I can get it to go somewhere else, but at the moment I am working on Talaitha's story (the fortune-teller) and continuing the Warrior Queen thread. Thanks for interest, though! I'll see if I can kick-start my imagination on that thread a bit.
Small bit of advice on the re-writing: so she's not supposed to be queen? Fine, she doesn't have to be. Just because the king goes to his Mistress doesn't mean he's going to marry her, he could just be looking for a little fun to start the day off right. Similarly, you appear to be fixated on him marring the first woman he beds during the festival; let him be a bit playboy about It! For my part it's obvious who he should marry: the Warrior Queen: but that's just one man's opinion.

I've made more updates than I care to enumerate since the last time I posted in this thread, the most significant being the introduction of Katyana, daughter of Lord Velimir Reznik (her thread picks up here, but to read it from the beginning, take the "Ride out to the camps of the foreign lords" option off the Intro). I've got plans for nearly all threads to continue, I just need to find the time!
Katyana's thread continues... I have figured now how I am going to end it, after perhaps ten more installments. Of course, this is CHYOA, and it would therefore be only one of many possible endings...
I've finally found my model for the "Maid of Silk"! It was much harder than I thought it would be to locate suitable picture sets of a Japanese woman in traditional dress (and, of course, undress). Many of the ones I found which looked promising didn't work because they were also in traditional Japanese *settings*, which didn't work for my story because it doesn't take place in Japan or any other far eastern location! Others were just too modern-looking; it's the hair that really does it, I needed to find a model with the natural long-and-straight look. The one I found has a touch of red which spoils it a bit, but she was so perfect in every other way I decided to live with it. Now that I have pictures, I can start writing her thread... but I am planning to finish up Katyana's story before doing much on any other thread. Her picture is in my "Meet the Characters" thread.

Katyana's thread has been brought to its conclusion, the first thread to do so! Of course, since this is CHYOA, that doesn't mean the story is over; just that this one part of it is. (And, I do plan to write an epilogue as well.)
After a brief hiatus to stir some creative juices, I'm continuing the Vixen's story. I hope to bring it to a conclusion within the next two weeks, after probably about ten more chapters. I've also added Jua's picture to the list of characters (Bwana M'Kubwa's granddaughter, portrayed by Skin Diamond).
