In what established fictional universe from a book, movie or tv show would you want to see melded with a freeuse setting?
My bad for not explaining what the concept is. I saw a couple free use themed stories and somehow assumed everyone would be familiar with the term. In a free use story, women and/or men are available to be freely used sexually . Though the context can vary wildly from story to story, in most scenarios any person can walk up to any other person and do whatever he/she likes to him/her wherever they are. A common standard in this fantasy involves the person being used ignoring how they're used and/or society as a whole treating it very casually, but this isn't always the case.
Ok. So from Lizisbest I got the impression that it would refer to a society where people are free to have sex in public at all times and it is not frowned upon. From Deadedge I get the impression that people (some or all) are not allowed to refuse sex when someone comes to "use" them. So which is it? And if these are different versions of the same kink how would it be used in the story that Deadedge would like to see written?
TBH if I was going to do a freeuse style thing in a pre-exsisting universe I would most likely write it as a sex comedy. Since the mental image of say, Commander Riker taking time out to face fuck Data in the middle of a battle with the Borg is funny to me.
Yeah I explained a common set of 'mechanics' I've read used other stories, but the general idea is just people fulfilling their sexual desires whenever and whereever with whoever they want openly. The rules on acceptance/refusal aren't rigid. The specific mechanics would probably stem from why free use has become a thing in the world, why sex isn't all that taboo or inherently private in this universe and seen as a common, everyday activity akin to getting a cup of coffee. For example there may have been some kind of of catastrophic world event that has caused free use laws to be passed in order to help repopulate the human race. Or maybe something completely different. It's more of the start of an idea, and how it gets applied in a story is up to the writer. I actually started this thread to see if there were any suggestions people had that I could use to write a free use story in an established universe. Like I was thinking "what if I was watching the show Friends but it was set in some kind of free use society". But then I didn't really want to write an episode of Friends...
Something that suits free use to a tee is a soap opera concept. Afterall they are basically one to begin with since at one time or another all the characters date or marry each other already so why not include sex!
Game of Thrones is an universe with a bunch of desirable ladies. The jump to free-use from their actual morals is not that far though. Listing other western shows i would like to mention: -How I met your Mother -Lucifer (<--Again this should be a rather easy one) -Doctor Who -Harry Potter (Not a show but long enough to work out) There is also anime, where you can find a bunch of shows that work because the Japanese love their 'overgrownÄ (As in too many and big tits, get it?) female casts.
You could also have it be some kind of event that changes the way everyone behaves in that world. One day n the world of Bones everyone loses all sense of shame and will to not act on any sexual whims. The problem with it being in a setting that is already establish is that you have to change it so much to make the freeuse work that it is not really the same aside from names. I would go with the "Sudden unexplained change" angle.
With any setting that has magic you can always explain it with "Wizards have no concept of right and wrong." Group of horny wizards used a reality-altering spell and now no one neither thinks that freeuse is weird nor do they wonder how it got started suddenly and why they hadn't done it before. Some scifi settings also have technology advanced enough to use it as a handwave for why the change happened. ...Or you could just say that this is an alternate universe much like the [insert fictional setting] but with freeuse. And now I am wondering about freeuse-Starwars story.
Well, I started https://chyoa.com/story/Freely-used,-unfreely.12134 based on a government conspiracy to create a free-use world. I have two threads that I want to expand (under the secret location theme) which I thought could work itself into something like the series Colony. That and just generic "fish out of water" ideas for different jobs as I think up storylines.
