This thread is for discussion and feedback of my story, "Extracurricular Adventures". The toys and masturbation will be featured more prominently toward the later stages. The main character and story arcs are generally defined, so I'm not looking for much input there. This is my first experience with writing in this format. Thus, feedback regarding chapter length, pacing and detail level would be most helpful to me. While I strive to bring the reader into the action through the moment-to-moment experiences of the characters, I worry that I'm being too verbose at times, potentially creating walls of text that unnecessarily hinder readers from reaching the payoffs later in the chapter or in subsequent chapters. I hope you enjoy the story as it unfolds.
My only complaint is that branching in the chapters don't ever seem to seriously diverge, its always really just onc path.
Thus far, that is intentional. I hope to include more, wider/deeper branches in the future. The branches thus far are relatively small deltas that lead to slight variations in the encounters or order of events.
I recently added a few chapters, but based on the low volume of views and limited number of likes, it seems that either my writing style or the genre doesn't seem to appeal to very many readers, and barely anyone seems to be following this story any longer. It would have been helpful to get more feedback either via chapter comments or via this thread to know how it could have been improved, or alternately a few more likes on chapters that people enjoyed to try to include more chapters like those. At this point, it seems like a wasted effort to try adding more chapters if so few are following it. Perhaps it's a sign to begin a new story in a more popular genre?
As I mentioned in the original post in this thread, the story is sort of a hybrid of both, so I could try that, I suppose. I just checked and saw there are only 12 entries in the Toys & Masturbation category vs. 323 in Exhibitionist & Voyeur, and I never realized there was such a disparity. Based on that, it would seem the latter is a more popular category. It's worth a try, I guess, and maybe it will increase the views. Thanks for your input GenericEditor168.
