So, I've been thinking about "Miss Kobiashi's Dragon Maid" and a couple of other similar anime and games I've been involved in, and I got the seed of an idea. What if I ran a BESM game, (third edition Tristat,) based around the staff of an immense adventurers academy? No, not the students, or the teachers; the Staff... I am picturing something kind of along the lines of "Maid: the RPG" but with more powerful characters and a slightly different focus, the characters are less competitive and more cooperative, there's no fighting over head-maid/chief-butler instead the characters are all trying to work together to pull off giant feasts for visiting bigwigs, clean up after the prom when there's things like forgotten golems and imps lost in the debris, and make sure the latest debacle with students ignoring the rule "Never summon something bigger than your head." doesn't become enough of an issue that it reaches the notice of the Arch-Dean... Any Questions/Comments/Concerns?
I have an interest in the general idea, but no idea what kind of system we're talking. "third edition Tristat"? "BESM"? Mind explaining so I can make an informed choice? EDIT: I can ignore a lot if I get to play a dragon, though.
BESM: Big Eyes, Small Mouth an RPG intended to portray anime, ANY anime. Tri-Stat system: the base system on which BESM is built: as might be guessed from the title it has only three base stats: Body, Mind, and Soul. And yes, you could totes play a Dragon. ('Half-Dragon'* at least, DRAGON-Dragon is a bit more iffy...) *(Humanoid/human size.)
