Real princess sucked into sexual fairytale or medieval world

    Hey everyone,

I had this idea while taking a walk earlier and not totally sure about it, so I thought I ask for some feedback/input here.

My idea was that a real princess is sucked into a fairytale or a medieval world (of course a sexualized one) and have to deal with who she meets there and maybe try to find out why she ended up there and how to come back.

    Hope to get some thoughts/suggestions/ideas.

    Thanks in advance,
    B.

You could probably have a lot of fun in her not having any clue about the land or creatures. For example, she might not know that Satyr's are horny little buggers making her easy pickings to be tricked or taken by them. Of course the reader would know and would see where the encounter was leading as soon as it started. Another example, she might not know pixies are mischievous and tricky. They might slowly trick her out most of her clothes before she actually realizes they are not to be trusted.

Good luck on the story idea.

You can do it without the person being a princess. A regular random girl would be interesting too.

I suppose the princess would give that "spolied and rich girl" right off the bat.

A normal nowdays girl (maybe even a bit 'easy') could be also fun, offering herself to valoruous knight that saves her from the dragon.

Thank you all for your response. Yes, the spoiled girl cliche was a bit what I was looking for, although also a bit the image of such a girl being a bit inexperienced in sexual things.
Some events in that world could change that. But yes, a normal girl would definitly be also fun in such a scenario.

What is everyone's thought about the amount of fantasy elements in such a setup?

I say fantasy, lots and lots of fantasy.

Either you chose a real princess or a normal girl i'd go with kidnap by an evil mastermind and put in tower, guarded by a dragon ( or equal level monster).
The knight comes to the rescue, but maybe the girl is smart enough to rescue her by herself.
Here starts her journey thorugh the land in search of her way back home.

    So to answer your question

A whole lot. I really can't see it out of a fantasy context.

As usual, one of the other authors has said it more eloquently than I did.

I can't see this working without a fantasy or sci-fi edge to it either, it just doesn't seem feasible. Oh sure, you could have them just wind up in the past somehow, but the question of "How?" will always be there: and do you know enough about the middle ages to write this convincingly without adding fantasy* elements?
*(or maybe Sci-Fi, but Fantasy seems the more natural fit...)

Well, a real princess could have the drawback that she may be able to easily adapt herself in a noble environment.

The question of "How" will always be there if the story starts in the modern world.
But it's not that hard... just sleep within a stone circle by accident or be there when a lightning strikes it. (or think of any other mystic place)
Then there would be a rather a "Why?", though you could write a half dozen novels to give a vague idea about it.

I don't think a Sci-Fi setting would work as the girl would probably be inferior to all other people around her.
Historical could be pretty hard to do if you wanna do it half-way right.
So fantasy would be the easiest way and gives the most possibilities.

I could imagine her being kind of a rebellious/obstreperous geek girl. She could have a lot "unknown" knowledge which would give her advantages for surviving in a world she doesn't know anything about. On the other hand, her personality would get her into trouble on every occasion.

That could actually work, just the other way around;)

I'd prefer someone like one of the Kardashian/Jenner girls, Paris Hilton, or some other entitled celebrity sucked into an alternate fairytale world with lots of sexual plots

I understand the possible attraction for somethimg like that, but i'd personally go with a fictional character in this case as theese girls all a major turn off for me.

Personally I also don't care for stories about celebrities. I'd also prefer fantasy, just in general. I can also imagine a fun story where she actually switches places with a fantasy princess or other character.

The "switching places" seems like a good premise for some funny-interesting-awkward scenes.

Twins separated at birth, one left in the magical world, another a changeling in our world, who discover their magical link and that they can read each others' minds when they are both sexually aroused at the same time?

For a bit I had thought about celebs myself, but then decided to use a celeb as regular girl if at all. I'm diverting a bit from the Princess idea, I agree that it would be funny with any sort of girl.

Yes, after thinking about it High Fantasy will be the choice.
I liked the stonecircle idea, although I also had the idea of a girl jumping into a forest lake and when she comes to the surface something changed (for example her clothes might be gone).

Currently I'm thinking a bit about how weird the world should be and would be happy about some thoughts from everyone, what do you think about things like physical transformations and such things. And is a bigger backstory something people like, some classic must save the world thing for example.

But thanks for all the replies already, hope there will be more.

I do have a thought: instead of diverting from the princess idea, write the introduction chapter so that various authors can add their own characters, some might be princesses, others ordinary women...

My other thought is that the Lake Scene sounds like something better suited to later in the story than as part of the introduction...

    Umm... some shower thoughts
A somewhat clumsy, geeky wallflower is kind of unhappy with her life and tries to find her own self, visiting an old (forgotten?) mountain spring. In hope of a mental rebirth, she could take a naked bath in the cold water, diving down to be completely surrounded by water. When she walks out of the water, everything looks more colorful and brighter, and a scent of fresh air reaches her nostrils. She feels just great before she realizes that her clothes are gone.
In the same moment, she hears male voices. She hastily gets behind a bush to hide her nudity. "She can't be far away."
Then a couple of strange clothed, armored men reach the mountain spring. "She went into the water," one of them says. "Hopefully, she didn't drown herself!" a small man giggles, "When have you ever the chance to have fun with a princess?", "Her last meal before she goes to the gibbet...," another man laughs.
The men could further examine the spring and then disappear after diving into the water or they could walk away to search the woman.
(She could try now or later to get back home through the spring.)
She could realize that she wears a necklace with a seal ring but doesn't wear her own silver necklace and her ear studs anymore (and other jewelry).
Her body could also be different. The body of the princess. A beautiful princess. But a princess on the run.

That way, a lot would be new for her: the world, the sensations of her new body, the attention of men, the fear of being caught, ...
She would need to find out, why this happened and why she (the princess) is on the run. After finding out, she could try to restore her life as the princess she was never born into.

Well, there are so many things which would qualify as long-term objectives, without being quite dominant in the beginning. For later it may be useful to have something that drives the story. You don't need to have every detail for that, though it should be clear enough to be able to keep things logical when you make the details known.
In the above example, the objectives could be to really find herself, find out how to get back in her own world, find out about her new body, find out about why she is on the run and what happened to her "family", maybe revenge her family, restore their status and be the princess...

I personally dislike collection stories for several reasons.

Maybe you should go for an Alice in wonderland rather than a princess, the whole original story is full of innuendos and sexual symolism.
