Image hosting and loss

Hi all,

Sadly my image host shut down taking almost all my story pics with it. No local copies.

Q 1 - Recomendations for image hosting? One that has album feature. Don't want to use Imgur.

Q 2 - Any wondrous ideas on recovery? I tried internet archive on chyoa and image host no luck.

 

Sorry to hear that you lost all! if this makes you feel any better the understanding i have is that imgur is going PG16

Myself I use ImgBB ( https://imgbb.com/ ) for all the images in my stories has album features I believe you're looking for.

 

Thank GS, appreciate that - however I think imgbb is another arm of the same company I just had issues with.

I used to host on picsgonewild who locked themselves down, I moved to hushpix.com there new one and they just disappeared. imgbb I think is the same company, at least they have the exact same image hosting system, template, buttons, menus and all.

 

For those who might have same issue - I settled on img.yt for hosting. Its not as easy to use and get links from, but looks stable.

 

Aaaand Img.yt hinted they are shutting down now.. anyone else have suggestions on image host?

 

Everything that i uploaded to imgur.com appears to still be online after around one year.
But you never know, so always keep a backup.

 

Since its so popular, I've always been worried how it might squash that stuff.

Good news though I found one - pixxxels.org has been around for awhile and has all the features I've been looking for (Except upload via URL).

Got my images hosted and could finally publish my [shameless plug] new story - pokegirls. Hope this post helps someone else find hosting if they need it.

 

Aaaaand it's gone. Wow, another host disappears with all the photos, which are well backed up this time. Guess I'll be using imgur private albums and hoping for the best.

How did you get on with imgur?

I'm being dumb here but it says no adult content? Have you got around it some how?

 

You can try 'imgbox'. I am using it, and so far (after two weeks) I don't have any problems.

 

I went with imgur (Apologies Majus, I did it before I read your post above) as the weight of opinion seems to be in that direction.

I've posted some adult pics on my chapters via imgur and so far so good. Imgur is very user friendly, I'm not tech savy at all and find it easy to use.
