So that's the bard Meryl mentioned. She's pretty. Vi'lea thought as she looked the half-elf bard over once before turning her attention to her food. The bread was still warm, likely baked not too long ago. The beef stew was just a normal stew, but tasted much better than she had expected. Or maybe it only seems that was because it has been a few days since I had a decent meal. The elf mused as she took a small sip from her mead. Tasting the food had made her realize how hungry she was and before she knew it Vi'lea had wolfed down the whole meal. If sis was here she would tease me about eating too quickly and unladylike. Hopefully no one was watching me. She thought as she finished her mead. I should go pay for a room. Meryl did say the rooms fill up quickly... hopefully not too quickly. Out of habit Vi'lea checked her money pouch, making sure that it is there and everything is in order with it, then got up from the table and made her way to the bar. Luckily for her she got there at a moment when the bartender was not busy with another patron. “Excuse me!” She called the bearded man over, and when he approached her she added in a quieter tone so that no one else would be able to overhear her thanks to all the noises in the common room. “I'd like to pay for one of your Extravagant rooms. Meryl said the price is a gold coin per night; I'd like to pay for two nights.” Vi'lea reached under her cloak, ready to take out the money and pay the man.
The woman eyes you with a slight suspicion, but at least she doesn't flee immediately away from you. "Speak your questions then. I haven't all day..." You quickly and deftly climb up the back wall, only occasionally sliipping on piece of crumbling masonry. The villa itself upon closer inspection is in a state of disrepair, but not yet to the point of having obvious flaws from a distance. It doesn't take you long to sneak up into the room. After a brief look to be sure that it isn't occupied, you finish your ascent and find yourself in what appears to be a spare room. The bed is neatly made and there isn't any sign of occupancy...Although you do spy a basket with some dirty linens in it. Likely an indication that the room is or was in the process of being cleaned and the person who cleaned it forgot to close the window. The Bearded barkeep comes over when you call and takes your money with only a grunt of thanks. He leaves briefly before returning with a key and only mutters "Floor Three, Room Five." before returning to work. The lady bard continues to play her tune only taking brief breaks to pause for the occasional fit of drunken laughter that her bardic story causes.
"I only need to know where I might find a place to spend the night, and where I might find a way to make some coin." Thritch says.
The woman looks a bit unsure for a moment. "Well, you might be able to get a room at The Shattered Skull or you could try The Quiet Bowl. Both of those places have lots of travellers that go through...Although The Quiet Bowl is a bit high-class for me to know much about it. For Coin? I don't really know where you can make that."
I did it! Broke into some guy's house!......now what? Nicholas did wonder to himself briefly as he untied his boot and dumped the rocks out of the window onto the ground. Putting his boot back on, he pulled the rope back up with him, before taking a look. It now occurred to him that he may have not thought this plan all the way through, but he wasn't about to just leave after all the effort getting in. First, he hugged one of the far corners on the edge of the wall along the door as he surveyed the room. He put one of his hands ready to draw a dagger if needed, though he wasn't about to casually murder someone just for being unlucky. But, there would likely be a reasonable amount of alarm to a random stranger in the room, and it would be difficult to do something if they freaked out. Letting his ears twitch, he picked up the sounds of the things outside the hall to get a feel for how many or what kind of people were outside the room.
"Thank you for your help." Thritch makes a small gesture of thanks with his paws. "Is there anything I could do for you in return?" He asks, with just the faintest hint of sexual suggestion in his voice.
"Thank you.” Vi'lea said to the man as she took the key and put it in a hidden pocket. Floor Three, Room Five. She repeated in her mind as she returned to her table. Having already finished both her drink and her food, and having no desire to retire for the night so soon, the sorceress decided to just sit and listen to the bard for a bit. When the half-elf finished her current song Vi'lea called Meryl over again.
You strain to hear what's going on and other than the loud and obnoxious voice of the noble below. The upstairs seems rather quiet. "No, That's fine. Information is cheap" She squirms slightly uncomfortably. Thanks to most of the people being occupied by the bard. Meryl seems a bit less busy and manages to make her way over to you fairly quickly. "Um...Vi'lea was it? Is there something you need?" (OOC: Sorry for the slow posts folks. Life is a pain)
Vi'lea takes a moment to answer, letting Meryl have a brief break from her work. “So that is the bard you were talking about.” The elf comments, looking at the singing half-elf. “She's pretty... but you're prettier.” She says as she turns her attention back to the young waitress. “Anyway, can I have some more mead, please?” She finally gets to the reason for calling Meryl. (OOC: That's alright, life always takes priority.)
Whelp, nothing ventured...how did that go, again? Absentmindedly, Nicholas slowly opened the door and proceeded to walk down the hall. Without any clearcut, goal he was simply aware of avoiding the downstairs currently before opting to open a room at random, completely guessing at what the result might be. In hindsight this probably was not his most well thought out adventure, but maybe there'd be something valuable or incriminating lying about.
"Alright. Thank you for your time." Thritch nods and steps away, returning to his wanderings but this time looking for a noticeboard or something else that might list jobs.
She flushes a bit as you compliment her. Although you aren't sure if it's because of the compliment or because you're a woman. "I-I'm sure that's just the mead speaking, but if you want more; i'll bring it right up." She scurries off to fetch you a refill. After a few minutes, the bard begins to sing again and Meryl comes back with your drink. A hint of redness still tinges her face and she doesn't look quite directly at you. "Is there anything else Miss?" I sort of expect all of you to at least have enough coin for tonight. It is starting to get fairly late.If you still wish to find a noticeboard and some work, that's fine, but I feel compelled to mention that you do have a little bit of money despite not saying so when starting. Just not a lot. The first door you swing open is a nice little bedroom. Although it's a bit small, there's a nice and deep red carpeting below a bed with matching sheets in the corner. On the opposite wall from the bed is a beautifully built vanity with a mirror in the center of it. Small objects litter the top of it. However, you don't notice any of that immediately as in the center of the room(safely away from the carpeting) is a beautiful woman taking a bath in a smooth metal bath tub. She has pretty large breasts tipped with tiny areolas and crowned with pert nipples that dip just below the waterline as she breathes. No doubt erect due to the cool air on her wet skin. Her hair is long, black, and draped over her shoulder to keep it from reaching the floor behind her. The rest of her body is hidden and distorted under the water. You aren't sure if she is the noble's daughter or his wife. Although she looks a bit on the youthful side to be his wife. She stares at you. Her brown eyes filled with shock and completely surprised by your intrusion. However, that stupor doesn't last long and you can already see her breath quicken as fear begins drowning her surprise. You only have a few seconds to react before she screams and alerts everyone in the building.
OOC: Alright, I guess I have money... Thritch makes his way to the Shattered Skull. The Quiet Bowl probably would have been safer, but the single pawful of silver and copper pieces he has hidden away probably wouldn't cover his stay there.
It's entirely my mistake. I should've have said something... You arrive at The Shattered Skull. It's a roughshod junker of an inn. The whole place smells of alchohol and cigar smoke. There isn't a whole lot of people in tonight. The bartender looks like a weasely sort of character who would likely swipe and pocket any coin he spots unattended on the table. In the corner a small group of thugs or mercenaries sit. Based on the number of mugs on the table and their drunken song filling the air. It would seem that they are already well into their night of drinking. The few remaining customers stick mostly to themselves and keep their coin purse clutched in a hand. A single serving girl who looks to be in her early thirties tends the tables.
“You're cute when you're blushing.” Vi'lea notes as she looks at Meryl's flushed face. “And please call me Vi'lea.” She adds. “As for anything else...” The sorceress pauses as she thinks and takes a quick look around. She notices that the room is not as full as it used to be. She also sees a few people leave their tables and head up the stairs, likely going to their rooms. “You're such a pleasant company that I had not realized how late is has gotten. Could you please have someone prepare my bath? The barkeep said my room is on the third floor, room five. When it is ready please come and get me, Meryl.” (OOC: I'm guessing how late it actually is. Also, I figure the maids have spare keys for the rooms.)
Nice place, Thritch thinks to himself sarcastically. Oh well, it would be better than sleeping on the streets... though not by much. He walked up to the barkeeper and asked, "How much for a room?"
"Aah-this isn't the guestroom." Coming up with a complex lie would make things more difficult, and Nicholas opted to let most of his words be spoken by his innocent looking face. He averted his gaze, and took a glance at the room trying to look for all the stuff in it. It was difficult to gauge what her reaction would be, but Nicholas looked back at her at let his ears droop downward, clearly looking embarrassed. "Please, don't be mad at me. I'm not a weirdo or anything. I was just looking for some spare pillows, is all." Does that sound like a thing?....actually....a new pillow would be pretty nice.
Teasing her about her blushing only makes her blush harder as she stutters a response. "Y-Yes Miss.I mean Vi'lea. I'll have someone draw your bath." She leaves for several minutes and you do not see her return until she comes back to you after seemingly having regained her composure. "Your bath is ready in your room at your leisure Miss Vi'lea." "Hmm, for you?" He eyes you up. His voice reeking of deceit. "Five silver should be enough for the night." It's painfully obvious to anyone with a speck of intelligence that the sleazy man was lying through his teeth. A mistrustful glance is all it takes for him to back off. "I mean...A shiny Silver coin should be enough for the night." He wheezes disappointment at his own lie. From behind, you hear the sound of flesh slapping flesh followed by a girly yelp and some rancorous laughter from the group of vagabonds in the corner. A quick glance tells you all that you need to know as the serving lady walks away from the table rubbing her behind. The girl's expression turns from fear to abject irritation as she quickly covers her large tits. "The room you're looking for is down the hall to your right." She keeps herself covered and sits up irritably as she gives you directions back to the room you broke into. "And learn how to fucking knock."
While waiting for Meryl to come back Vi'lea thinks about what to do next, and also manages to finish her second pint of mead. “Just Vi'lea, no need to call me 'Miss'.” The elf says as she gets up and moves to stand next to the waitress. On a whim she sways a little, as if a little drunk. “Now please show me to my room, my sweet Meryl.” She asks as she smiles at the human girl. (OOC: Will have to stop here for now, but I am looking forward to what will happen next with Vi'lea and Meryl.)
Thritch pulled out a collection of copper pieces, totalling up to exactly one silver piece - it would be a bad idea to appear wealthy in this place. He placed them on the counter before the innkeeper, watching him to make sure the coins were taken and he was given his key.
