The Arena of Illusions is my first attempt at creating a story that uses the Game Mode. It's still at the begining so I have done very little with the conditions stuff, but I will do more over time. I've put the story in Moderated mode so that other people can add to it if they want to, but any additions have to be approved by me.
Just wrote and published a few more chapters. I'm not sure how well they turned out, since I was rather tired while writing. So I'd appreciate any feedback. I might add a few more chapters over the next few days, if I can find the inspiration.
@Astraphemeral has added four (so far) chapters to the story. Followng that I have added some notes for potential authors, and also expanded a little bit on the information about the Arena.
I have added a third character: Christine, a noble's lesbian daughter in need of some extra money. Her reasons for needing money are very different from Lynara's. This will be last character I plan to add for now. For the moment I will be working on continuing the existing threads.
A small update: Added one more thread, and also added a variable tracking each character's arousal. I'm not really sure if it will show up for people who have already started, since it is set when you select a character. All 3 of the current characters start with 0% arousal.
It's been a long time, but I finally added a new thread to this story: Attempt to negotiate for the Potions of Haste, part of the Anna branch. To be honest this thread was posted a day early due to a mistake - I meant to save it as draft and post it tomorrow, along with a follow-up, but I clicked the wrong button. I have three more almost-ready chapters (and one link) that I plan to add to the same branch over the next few days. Somehow I missed this question. Well, better late than never, I guess: The story takes place in a generic fantasy world and I have intentionally not given a lot of details yet, so pretty much any race can be found in the world. The Arena was originally built for humans, so people from any race of similar size can compete there (elves, orcs, etc.). Naturally, smaller races (such as dwarfs, goblins, gnomes, etc.) can compete as well. Larger races can also compete, if they are not too much larger. So an Ogre, a Minotaur, or a Troll will be accepted, but a dragon is likely to get turned away (of course, a dragon is unlikely to want to compete in the first place).
I just added two more chapters (and one link) to Anna's branch. I have one more chapter that is getting close, but it won't be finished today.
An unplanned update: The Bone Door. I wrote this chapter on a whim and decided it's fine as it is now, so here it is.
Final planned update for this month: The Door with the sun Enjoy! No more updates for this month. I will now go back to other stories I have been neglecting.
A small update: If you are using Game Mode, options you can't select will be hidden (I decided to try the new feature and it seems to be working fine so far). I also added two short chapters to Christine's branch, as well as an Update log.
It's been a while, but there have been a few small recent additions to this story: - Random308 added the chapter "Surrender" to Christine's branch - Regin34 added "Buy the elven longsword" and "Leave and go back to the previous room" to Anna's branch. Both chapters edited by me a bit, so if you find any typos I missed, let me know - I added a new small chapter to Anna's branch - a follow-up to her attacking the orcs I might add a few more chapters over the next few days. As always, feedback appreciated.
