This probably wouldn't be accessibly till after the we reach the no ads level on pateron but a mode that blocks the cover pages of stories for users on the go or lunch break or whatever.
It would also have to hide profile pictures. I too would really like a text only version of the website to browse in public places.
Then it should also block images (or replace them with a replacement picture with a clickable link to the original).
That does sound like a good idea, you can already kind of do it by cranking a Ad blockers filter up to the max but that means having to have a Ad blocker installed and it is still a little hit or miss.
At the very least have a cock blocker. Something that blocks pictures I don't like. Like the ones with a cock in them.
There are browser extensions which allow you to modify specific sites' CSS. (e.g. Stylebot) I use it to teach Google to properly emphasize the search text within the results on Chrome. (actually replacing italics with bold and underlined) It could also be used to hide images with this rule: Code: img { height: 0px; width: 0px; } (Only works for <img> tags. For background images and other ways of displaying images, you might need additional rules.) I don't browse on mobile, so I'm not sure if there are similar add-ons — though I guess there are. If you find an app for that purpose, you could leave a note about it here.
There is an option in opera which prevents all pictures from being loaded. You can find it following the link opera://settings/ On this site, go to "Websites", find the category "Images" and choose "Do not show any images" You can also use "Manage Exceptions" to only allow/block pictures on certain sites.
