So, As you all know by now I'm a ridiculously prolific writer, (though not like I used to be for some reason, maybe I'm just getting old, or maybe Im trying to hard, IDK...) buuut, even I have unfinished projects, and by "Unfinished" I'm talking "never got to the point I could publish them"... Presnted here will be the blurbs of a few of those projects, which I want to take another crack at with the help of a fresh set of eyes or maybe more than one, if you would be intreasted in discussing things further talk to me in a PM... [Anarchy In Animation Land!] Six close friends, all in their late-20s to mid-30s and all unutterably nerdy, are walking an abandoned area of the crumbling midwest town where they live one night while playing "Pokemon: GO!" when they are snatched by a mysterious beam of light! They wake up the next morning in the middle of an abandoned warehouse: no idea how they got there or what happened in the intervening 7 hours... (Well, actually, they all realize instantly that they were abducted by aliens: super nerdy after all...) They make a pact to never speak of this again, but they soon find that not only have they been experimented upon, but they all share a set of incredibly bizarre superpowers. The powers are not unique to each member of the group, but in all cases, the same: they can transport themselves and anything they can physically pick up between their own world and that of any animated universe displayed on a nearby screen, and head back via any reflective surface... Though they try to keep it cool, things rapidly start to spiral out of control: as they start interfering in many animated worlds, and that interference leads to acquiring more and more outlandish powers... Dungeon Master: Worlds Of Wonder James Timson is an immense Gamer Geek. His favorite game is the international fantasy MMORPG "Worlds of Wonder", where he is known, as "Jack of Timberland". One day he receives a promotional item in the mail, a 'wearable'. Wearables are clothing and costume jewelry which have micro transponders in them which send a little WI-FI alert to the Worlds of Wonder control system which you have to have plugged in to play. These give you certain advantageous effects in the game, such as specific powers or access to special areas. Mostly you have to buy them in stores like HOT TOPIC or online, but sometimes you can win them in online raffles and contests, or "inherit" them from other gamers who are quitting the game for various reasons. The very best wearables, however, are given away to the top one-thousand players in a monthly prize drawing, and after five years of climbing the rankings, James has broken into the top 1000 and won a unique wearable... The wearable is an amulet in the shape of an ancient key, which will give him access to an In-development world as a beta-tester. However, after playing in this new world for 24 hours almost straight (bathroom breaks and eating four brief meals excepted,) he is forcibly logged out/micro-banned for the next twelve hours by an admin and stumbles to bed still dressed in all his wearable gear. He wakes up back in the new world, but not as a hero; this time he's a "Dungeon Master", and served by a small band of sexy monsters who all WANT to be his 'slaves'... When he goes to sleep again he finds himself confronted by an angel, and is told he has one year to resolve this meta-dimensional entanglement, he has to pick one world to live in permanently by then. Before he can say that he wants to live in the fantasy world he wakes up in his bed, with three hours to go on his micro-ban, so he heads to the store... Where he meets the gamer geek girls of his dreams! Now he finds himself trapped between two worlds, his waking life with his perfect partners, and his OTHER waking life running a Dungeon in the fantasy realm... He has one year to decide: but, how can he choose between two dreams-come-true? Elf-ed! At the age of five an impoverished brother and sister start getting unbelievably lavish Christmas gifts from 'Santa': exactly what they ask Santa for each year as long as it's age appropriate and isn't just money or stocks and bonds or "world peace" or things like that... 16 years later the butcher's bill comes due... Mother Of Monsters It is the year 1212 of the Empire of Samara, and the new emperor has issued a proclamation that all 'inhuman races' are to be exterminated. The empire controls 'All Under Heaven' so there is nowhere in the world for the Dragons, Minotaurs, Medusa, and other non-human sapients to run... Or is there? In days long past a secretive order of women mystics created an immense underground refuge known only as 'The World Beneath' to which they retreated when the Empire destroyed their homeland. Scattered across the world this series of immense artificial caves connected by massive magical portals has become home to the last groups of free people in the world, and their spies have heard of this proclamation and know it's true purpose. Without the mystical races such as Dragons and Oni, magic will die and with it the portals that tie their realm together: but worse than that the artificial suns that allow them to grow their crops will gutter and go out. This is the Empire's attempt to crush the last pocket of resistance to their all-encompassing rule no matter what they have to destroy to do it. So, the council of ancients gathers and devises a plan. They will send forth a veritable army of their best and brightest students to infiltrate the world above and rescue as many of the creatures of magic as they can: but there is another layer in this plan. Not only will the agents save various monsters, they have a backup as well: the agents they send will also attempt to seduce the most potent monsters, trying to get pregnant with their children! That way, even if the monstrous races die out, enough of their sacred bloodline will live on to preserve magic for future generations... The Time-Stop Trap Guide the actions of Mark LaSalle, a young man who gains the unbelievable ability to freeze time itself for everyone but him: however, he can only do it once, and once done, it will only UN-freeze for any living thing not inside his body when he dies... Furthermore, the being that granted him the power warns him: if he attempts to commit rape, in fact, any kind of non-consensual sex act, he will die instantly... "With great power, comes great responsibility."
OK I like this idea, in order to make it last longer though I'd be more inclined to have the ability to unfreeze and then refreeze as and when the protagonist decided. Totally on board with the non-concensual but it needs to be a better retaliation or just that the main character wouldn't even dream of doing such a thing - I think the non-concensual element just shouldn't come up at all. Therefore removing that idea completely? Oh? Possibly with the ability to rewind and fast forward time?
Well, if he freezes time and only can unfreeze it by dying with only consensual actions would make this a story where the protagonist would walk around and watch (clothed) statues. I think that would be more interesting if they would freeze time for everyone but can awake them by touching them. They could awake someone (or more than one person) which would most likely join him out of loneliness. After a while, that person could find out about that ability and ask them if they could awake their dearest persons.
This is, yes, the point. It is a trap, he can alter the position of various non-living things, coffee cups, iron bars, cement mixers, and so forth, but he is stuck, alone, in a world of statues. That is in essence the entire idea: you have the power to freeze time for everything except you: ONCE: and thereafter it will never UN-freeze as long as you live. Chose wisely...
Yeah, I don't really see the appeal. I can see it working as a psychological short story or something but I'm not sure chyoa is the place for it. I mean, outside of non-consent, what's he meant to do with it? Go around fixing problems of people dropping stuff or moving them out of the way of moving cars? It seems like the kind of thing where even after a couple of years, frozen in time alone, he'd go crazy and rape someone just so he could be die and be free. If the conflict is meant to come from only have one chance to freeze time and deciding when the right time to use it is (i.e. his friend is about to be hit by a runaway car. Does he use it and save his friend vs save it for later when say a gunman charges the the mall or something.), then there's no need for him to die for time to be unstuck. In fact there's more drama if he can experience the aftermath and see that he was wrong, or right. Even then, it seems like it has limited application and very little opportunity for erotica. Unless it's going in the non-erotic section, which is fine, though I still think it has limited possibility for divergence of choice outside of 'save this guy or save this other guy'.
