Thritch isn't in the shaded area. He's looking around the main part of the ruins, seeing if there's anything interesting about it.

After the bright morning light Vi'lea's eyes need a few brief moments to fully adjust to the shaded area. Afterwards she realizes that, contrary to her expectations, there is no other person there – which explains why she got no answer to her greeting. Looking at the nearby ground again she confirms that there are a few recent-looking footprints, so apparently someone had been in the area recently. Her lack of any skill in tracking keeps her from learning anything more, though.

As she stands in the shaded area the dark elf thinks what to do now. I could search around for whoever left the footprints, or just explore the ruins and see if there's anything of value to be found... Nah, I think I'll just stay here and wait. The other person will likely come back, if it is one of the other people mentioned in the letter. Besides, if the mysterious sender shows up and I miss them because I am not at the specified spot, then coming here will turn out to be a waste of my time.

With her mind made up Vi'lea picks a location near the wall that allows her to observe both the door and the entrance to the shaded area, then just stands thee, waiting.

If there's any kind of information or determination of what the building used to be or who built it, then it has been lost to time. The surface area isn't any more than a bunch of rocks and rubble

Lacking anything else to do, Thritch heads down into the shaded area.

"Aww...geez. No map or anything? Oh, well. I'm sure I'll remember. Not like I'd read it anyway." Nicholas wasn't all to sure who he was trying to fool, but his reasoning was simple.

    1. Someone can keep tabs on him without him noticing. That's worth looking into.
    2. Finding the place shouldn't be too hard. How many ancient ruins can there seriously be?
    3. The only real reason to avoid taking it would be common sense and who uses that anyway?

Gathering his stuff and descending down the tree, he ruled that he would be setting off to the ruins to put his own plan to action. It's just too bad that what that plan is, remains a complete mystery even to himself.

O.O.C.: I need to spend the week holed up in hotel rooms, so it might be a while before I get a chance to reply, but I will make the effort.

Your trip goes...well, much like the others and you find the ruins pretty easy to find. After climbing a brief hill to arrive at the outcropping, your attention locks onto a strange Rosen walking towards a shaded area in the center-ish part of the ruins.

(OOC: Surely a week or two won't be as bad as the four months that I derped out on)

There are many thoughts in Nicholas's head. Of the few relevant ones, the logical conclusion is formed. It must be a scavenger to find and pick whatever isn't nailed down. There's no telling if there is more that are deeper in.

That leads Nicholas's line of thinking of hanging back and waiting to see what it might do, in the event that there's more of them running around. While he can't say that he 100% feels like it's his problem, there might be some issue if they grabbed anything important that he's supposed to be looking for.

While it might be better to wait for the two who are supposed to come along, he frowns a bit as he remembers he was never given a description or name of who he's supposed to be looking for. This could be a problem if those people try to mistake him for some random raider and stab him in the face. He very much enjoyed his face not being stabbed.

Drawing his second dagger from it's sheath on the leg, he slips it into his right hand that he places behind his head, obscuring it from view. The other one remains clearly visible but sheathed. With no obvious signs of danger, it should be obvious he isn't intending to be hostile. If the rat is intelligent, it probably won't start anything without being actively provoked. Giving his best wide eyes and most air headed smile, his ears twitch a bit to survey his surroundings for what he isn't seeing while starting a conversation.

"Hey, man. Are you looking for something? Me too. I'm starting to think this isn't anywhere near Midcort."

"I'm waiting for some to turn up. Did anyone give you a letter? Or were you sending out letters to random travellers?" The rat is armed, but not excessively, and they're sheathed. He's also shirtless.

"They gave my tree a letter. But...trees can't read all that well, so I thought I would go in it's place. I know what you're thinking. But you're wrong. I have tree friends. But...if you're waiting for someone to turn up, I think I'm probably one of them. Maybe. Unless you mean metaphysically. 'Cause I don't really get how that philosophy stuff works. I'll try, but.."

While busy just saying whatever absent mindlessly popped into his head, Nicholas's eyes began to wander upward, looking as empty headed as ever, while internally surveying his surroundings, taking in everything he could with he senses to see and hear anything out of place or changing.

Thritch backs away slightly from the apparent lunatic.

Vi'lea waits patiently in the shaded area and soon hears something: first footprints and then voices. They are out of her sight, but close enough for her to listen to the conversation, and both sound male.

At first she doesn't really care and listens only because she's bored, but then the talk about letters arouses her curiosity. Hmm, sounds like those two might be the other people mentioned in the letter... or it might be about something else, unrelated to the invitation I received. I think I'll just wait here and ask them if they come this way.

The dark elf continues to stand still in the shaded area and listen to the conversation going on nearby.

Thritch has backed into Vi'Lea's vision.

Soon a figure appears in Vi'lea's field of vision. It is hard to see the new arrival clearly due to the contrast between the bright light from outside and the relative darkness of the shaded area where the dark elf is standing, but the person seems to be backing away from something – whether it is some sort of danger or something else is impossible to tell.

Well, here goes nothing... Vi'lea thinks as she takes a breath. “Hello? Everything alright?” She calls to the new arrival. The dark elf remains where she is and does not take out any of her daggers, not wanting to look threatening and give the wrong impression.

"Hey, buddy. You seem to be having a bad day. If you want, we can go over there and talk about it." Nicholas gestured over to the side of the shaded area and bright area, while keeping eye contact with the scavenger to wait and see what they will do.

Vi'lea gets no answer to her greeting, only the unknown person keeps walking into the shaded area, his focus seeming to be on the person he is talking to. She shrugs and remains quiet, waiting to see what will happen.

"Alright. So, we have you. And we have the third person waaayyy over there. But don't worry about what they're doing. Talk to me. What can I do, to make working as a team better for you? If you want, you can take the lead or hang closer to the back. All I need you to do is get you from here.." Nicholas pause as he made a sweeping motion of the area, before pointing to the entrance of the ruin.

"Into there. Just with a few people tagging along. You can then just go about your business as usual. So, do you want to lead or let someone else do it?"

Nicholas made sure that his positioning as about a foot and a half away from the rodent as he kept looking at him, but silently put himself in a position where he wouldn't be standing directly in front of him, on the off chance something went wrong.

Thritch straightens up. "Pardon me, but I have no idea what you mean..."

He notices the rabbit's positioning and shifts himself to be ready to draw his sword.

Nicholas partly by being the kind of person who just didn't live in the same world as other people, took a breath and relaxed, while taking a step back.

"Alright. Maybe I got the whole thing wrong. I'm just confused about the whole thing. Why don't you take it from the top, and tell me what you need, so I can give it to you?"
