I've been kicking this around for a week or so, as a way to maybe shoot up forum participation/give writers a goal to shoot for, besides SotW. Basically, we'd nominate stuff we like into categories over a month, then we'd have a month long voting process. Initial category ideas would be Best Story(All-time), Best New Story(started in 2018), Writer of the Year, Chapter of the Year, Best New Writer, Main Character of the Year, Supporting Character of the Year(non-focus character) Best Non-English Story of the Year. But obviously we could do a lot with the categories, if there's interest in voting on such things. Just spitballing, let me know if you would care enough to make an idea like this worthwhile.
Might be a fun idea. There's no real visibility a to what goes into Story of the Week, and the Top Stories/Notable Stories From Backers/Notable Writers doesn't move much the way it's set up - even though some of the highlighted stories haven't been updated in forever.
I like the idea but don't know if I read enough to vote fairly. There will also be some people upset when they don't get picked. Two questions; Have you considered categories for specific fetishes? Is this going to be completely user run or are you looking for official support?
Maybe try "Best Story in (Category)"? EDIT: And maybe (so I have a chance) "Best Nonhuman Character"?
Well, then you could just nominate a number of stories/chapters and then pick the one with the most Likes. Though, depending on how you do it, you could bring readers' attention to stories which didn't get the attention they would earn yet. So kind of pointing to story gems.
I think doing it by category is a good suggestion, and would like to nominate Majus "Chyoa Sex Chat" for a lifetime achievement.
