After reading through Auraicide's very interesting "biggest turn offs" thread I thought it would be fun to do the opposite. So . . . What particular scenes, things or fetishes do you find the most erotic to read about? And to ask the more interesting and difficult question, why?
I really like transgirl/cd/traps, I like the image of a very feminine person having a cock. Bonus points if they are well-endowed but submissive. I also like the "childhood friends finally finding eachother" category, that shit's just beautiful.
Light side and dark side - I usually prefer sex-positive stuff, especially where people choice's makes them end up in sexual situations, but there's a lot of fun to be had with playing up to the darker emotions tied up with sex - preconceptions of what's right and wrong, who you're supposed to be attracted to, fear of the consequences and the secret thrill at facing those consequences - all the little taboos that people set up for themselves. Breaking those taboos, especially if it's a gradual, well-built-up violation, has a lot of appeal to me... ...to a point. Straight rape or sexual slavery, especially if played realistically, is depressing and a bit of a boner killer. Same with a lot of the darker violence, drug use, and prostitution stuff. We all know people in real life suffer through that, and in the fantasy of erotica I tend to prefer people discovering themselves through sex, rather than moral degeneration into crack-addled whores, mindless bimbos, etc. Corruption and transformation should, to me, ideally leave the character as at least recognizable as their former selves, or else the point is simply degradation. Some people are into that, and it has its thrill, but it gets old. Some people never get tired of Wonder Woman getting tied up, raped, and impregnated, but at this point I'm more interested in Wonder Woman submitting gradually as a result of decisions she herself has made and rationalized in her own mind - to own becoming a slut, rather than to have it forced on her. I also do like gender change, pregnancy, impregnation, and expansion - no surprise there for anybody that reads my stuff - although I try not to make it the sole and central premise. There's a lot of taboos and physical changes bound up in the whole idea of genderbending, impregnation, and pregnancy which I find fascinating - especially when developed over time, rather than some kind of instant belly inflation thing. I guess I'm just less interested in instant gratification than I used to be; I want to see people work through it.
1) Power Plays: Whilst I'm not into whips and chains, I do rather enjoy mental domination. People using their position to control people is something I find really engaging (for example Boss/Secretary relationships). I also love it when power exchanges in a relationship depending on how the story develops. 2) Cheating and Public-ish Sex: Although the two are rather different, the reasons I like them are similar. First, these two things are outside of social norms and are taboo whilst remaining in an area of vanilla that I enjoy (unlike Non-Con or Incest). The risk of getting caught is also something that adds to the experience for me. 3) Open Relationships: Open relationships allow for more sexual partners and different kinks. I also admittedly don't have one favorite type of woman and I do like to indulge in women of different shapes, ages, and race.
People who are a-holes being taken down a peg or two. Embarrassment and humiliation, especially for a-holes. MILFs or business women getting horny and acting out of character.
Very well said! I totally agree. It like fantasy BDSM themes but not realistic violence. It's strange, the closer you get to the edge the more erotic a situation can get, but once the line is cross, it becomes a complete turn off. The concept of the public punishment and humiliation of a arrogant beautiful woman is very compelling to me, but real violence, blood and especially death is repulsive. Again, the more interesting and harder question is to ask why do we find such things attractive in our fantasies. And why some things and not the others? I think we share in many of the same kinks, but I am totally lost on the impregnate thing, to give one example. Great reply, thank you again.
Turn Ons: French Maid who actually has a French Accent. Overly sexualized, submissive. Formal Gowns/Dresses on beautiful women. Sexy lingerie. The general idea of a woman wanting to look good to please her man. Mind Control where the person fights, but is subconsciously starting to enjoy themselves. How a Turn On can Turn me Off: Setting up great foreplay only for a jump cut to fucking in bed. When too many kinks are stacked on top of each other.
Biggest turn on is this: When a woman gets an amazing makeover. From ugly to drop dead gorgeous. When a woman becomes magically beautiful to the point where she can affect men’s minds. As a fan of F2F transformations I seldom find these types of stories.
It's really hard to try and explain just why you love a kink or fetish, but I'll try My Biggest turn-ons break down into 2 distinct categories; my Dominant and Submissive tendencies. As a Dominant: -Stereotypical Nerd Girls. Just a visual I am aroused by in women, thick glasses, geeky dorky presence -Human Pet Play (NOT Beastiality/Zoophilia!!!!!) There is something about a submissive taking on a pet persona that has always aroused me. Usually I think it's from the sense of companionship and reliance a pet has to it's owner combined with the traditional aspects of being a devoted submissive to their Dom/me. I love physical affection; petting, stroking, submissives acting in a primal fashion while maintaining their owned status. It also supports and is supported by other kinks and fetishes I enjoy, such as erotic humiliation (treating a pet more like an animal then a person), toys (spanking/punishment implements, accessories like ears, tail-plugs, playing with traditional pet toys as well). There always seems to be added feelings of connection and devotion between the Dom & Sub in Pet Play scenarios. As a Submissive: -Strap-on Sex/Pegging. Something I've just been fascinated by since I first saw porn of it. Being on the receiving end of sex from a woman was just something beyond my ability to comprehend until I saw it. (THAT Real Sex episode; for those of you who go back to when HBO came with basic cable). Like something you've never fathomed before, it drew me in, became an obsession and has been my favorite kink to this day. -Humiliation- such a wide topic but specifics on the type of humiliation and degradation are -Crossdressing- More specifically Feminization/Sissification -Forced Bi/Gay Not sure I'm ready to try and figure just how these became extreme turn ons for me. I'll just blush, admit they turns me on, and end it there. -
I like it when there's actual emotion involved. Sure it's fun making two people put their privates together -- but if I'm not emotionally invested? Not that fun. I like a buildup. I like a good character arc. I WANT the main character to feel real. I want his sexual adventures to feel pleasing and worth it. Other than that I'm pretty vanilla, but I know what the readers like, so I write that.
The connections can be large or small, but if we can't describe the emotion and convey the importance of the scene (setting as well as characters and action), I strongly believe (and agree) the erotica has no point. The investment has no point. This is an era of easy video and picture. The people don't *need* words to describe sex. They can see and hear raw sex, and sex with some small context, easy. They need words to give *meaning* to the sex. To give meaning to the setting. That's where we come in - if we have any talent at all.
That's my main goal when I write a story. Sure, writing a raunchy, raucous sex scene is fun -- but what about afterwards? Their feelings? What about how everything fell into place to make that scene work? I can't write a story in good consciousness if there isn't a way for the reader to connect to how the MC feels, or at least give them a good relationship (good or bad, doesn't matter) to follow during the sex. It's not interesting.
From the reader's perspective... If I'm not invested in the MC, I'm not likely to be very interested in the story. I still enjoy reading through some stories that I'm not very interested/invested in, sometimes it's fun to just read about sex in general, even if it hasn't had much in terms of build up (I mean, in real life it can be like that too, so it's not entirely irrational). From a new author's perspective... I have only limited experience, so I can only offer limited feedback in this area. I wanted to post because I felt so rewarded by creating a story that had more than just a quick sex scene. At least personally, I find the writing process to be more fun when you have something substantial to work with. It also occurs to me that I have much more direction and depth I can utilize with a more developed story.
