Spun off from Ovyah Discovered -- the Seductive Spider-Harem picks up where that left off. It also firmly sets the action in Marvel Universe 254616 -- a world whose history was the same as Marvel-616 until just about a month before the story begins. Peter Parker -- the Amazing Spider-Man -- has always had the worst luck. He was a photographer for the Daily Bugle and then the Mayor's Office until he faked a photo to exonerate an innocent man... and got caught. He was a respected tech authority until accusations of plagiarism in his doctoral thesis -- caused by Otto Octavius being 'Peter Parker' and 'plagiarizing' his own work -- threw that into question. He was a visionary tech billionaire until he had to scuttle his own company to keep it out of Octavius's hands and protect the world from the sentient Carrion virus. Now, he was discredited in every field he had ever been in, working photo cleanup for the Bugle in an entry level job. The good ol' Parker Luck, right? That may have changed -- may -- when he rubs an old battered lamp in an effort to keep its apparent genie out of the hands of any number of his enemies. This released Ovyah, a djinn of lust who bonded with Peter as her master until his death. Dubious at first, though amazed at the sensual delights Ovyah represented, Peter was stunned when the djinn suggested using her power to resurrect Gwen Stacy -- Peter's martyred lost love. Because her power only works if lust, desire, or sex is involved, he had to phrase his wish accordingly... Gwen Stacy was thrown off a bridge. She then got pulled through time, a duplicate left in her place to keep history intact. Given a 'refresher' of events that turned out to be much more comprehensive than people might have expected, Gwen has found herself a decade in the future. An intense night of passion with Peter brought her back to reality in more ways than one. Now, Gwen and Peter have called upon their oldest joint friend -- and Peter's ex -- Mary Jane Watson to help. But Gwen knows something about the pair that -- thanks to Mephisto -- the two of them have forgotten... Mary Jane Watson had walked out of Peter Parker's life when she couldn't handle the pressure of his dual identity any more. His world was just too chaotic. She also felt an odd pain when she was with him -- which he felt as well -- that she couldn't explain. Like something was missing between them that hurt. And yet, when they were apart that pain turned into loneliness and longing. In the meantime she'd had a couple of nightclubs -- both destroyed -- and for a while worked for Stark Unlimited as an executive assistant and then executive administrator. Same old superheroic world, only for a paycheck and without Peter. Which she was beginning to regret when she was called by Peter... and Gwen Stacy. Seeing the potential Peter's djinn had for making the world a better place, one wish at a time, Mary Jane proposed an organization dedicated to supporting Peter... and since the wishes had t0 be sexual... the Seductive Spider-Harem was born. Cindy Moon -- aka the Stunning Spinning Silk -- was bitten by the same radioactive spider as Peter Parker, back in the day. Due to the threat of the Inheritors, she spent literally seven years all alone in a sealed bunker with a bunch of old VHS tapes and books and nothing -- and nobody -- else. When she was released, she and Peter discovered that their respective ESP -- his spider-sense, her silk-sense -- magnified and manifested as monumental attraction, the two of them kicking out pheromones to match. Silk worked for the Fact Channel and then SHIELD, including the SHIELD Academy, for a while, before SHIELD imploded. At loose ends, Cindy Moon was stunned to get a phone call from Mary Jane Watson, giving her an opening to being a permanent part of Peter's life... with Mary Jane and Gwen's enthusiastic consent. With all the pressure of the mating urge, Cindy didn't have to be asked twice... Tony Stark is both the Invincible Iron Man and an asshole. Ovyah is the lust djinn who started this all after Peter freed her. She is apparently incredibly powerful, highly playful, given to inappropriate outbursts... and completely dedicated to Peter. At the same time... Ovyah -- now given the name Olivia 'Ollie' Vayne and the backstory of being an Empire State University freshman -- has both latitude and her own agenda... most notable in the incredibly dense information dump she apparently gave Gwen Stacy, about any number of things, really... Coming together and founding the Inanna Institute for Post-Revivification Research and Advocacy, the newly christened Spider-Harem works to figure out how to responsibly use unlimited power. And have sex. And... naturally... problems.
As a side note... I'm not sure I know of anyone else who launches into a sex harem fanfic and then opens the second 'Issue' with a Powerpoint presentation. But I'm generally weird.
Over on The Seductive Spider-Harem, we had an important step on the 'harem' side of the equation today -- in a harem anime or similar, you start with the expected elements. The princess of another world who needs you to be her consort, your best friend, your one chosen, your plucky insane scientist/mage chick. The Tsundere who calls you a fool and pretends not to care. You know the deal. And then you get the X-Factor. The person from a completely unexpected angle and place. ...huh. X-Factor. Didn't even plan that pun.
Two questions for you, if you will pardon my curiosity . . . 1) Do you find it difficult on working on so many stories at the same time? (I could not do that.) 2) Of your chyoa stories, which one is your favorite?
Actually, it makes it easier for me. I hit a significant point on one then need to consider the next step, so while I do that I bounce to the next. These, a commissioned work, a medium article and a Patreon exclusive means I can keep my brain from stalling out on one of them. Not counting the original Ovyah Discovered... the story I find most satisfying is The Luthor Agenda. The story that has the strongest characters and the most visceral interactions is Spider-Harem. But my favorite is Wonder Woman: Oathbound. If that narrows anything down?
Let me put it this way. The Seductive Spider-Harem is an 'ongoing comic series.' The Luthor Agenda is a 'Major Comics Crossover Event' a la Civil War or Infinite Crisis or the like. And Wonder Woman: Oathbound is a graphic novel from when those were written as single units and not collections of serialized comics. So, the first is a soap opera with other things breaking them up, the second is a major arc in a compressed space with a defined beginning, middle, and end, and the last is a specific story about two people and their relationship as it evolves over time. So it's hard to say which is my favorite, because they're all so different. (And it is weird writing Diana in The Luthor Agenda.)
That does help, thank you. I find in some sense your Luthor story the most interesting, but the hard part (at least for me) is that Luthor is almost asexual, because he is in love with power and (in my opinion) would view sex as a weakness. I am very curious to see how you sustain that character for a complete story, especially considering that he is a villain. I know about that! I feel like I have such a grasp on Catwoman for my story, I find it hard reading any other fan-fiction about her.
