Hi folks, here are the first screenshots of the Chyoa 2 project. You can see that we get a little more color, user avatars and cover photos for stories. Stories will consist of 3 pages: The main story page (where you read and write), the story map (where you can from then on manage all threads, approve them, etc.) and a meta page (where you can see statistics about the story and recent activity around the story). A new element is the sidebar where you can change story preferences and leave comments. This is one approach to increase the interaction of users within stories. Best regards, Friedman
Gorgeous. Two questions: firstly, what can we expect in the way of disruption/reformatting for existing works? Second, how will this play out on mobile devices?
Thank you all! 1. There shouldn't be formatting issues. But I still have to solve the encoding problem of the older stories. 2. It should also work on mobile devices. Chyoa 2 has a responsive design, with a slightly modified format.
So how will the idea of using cover photos for stories work? Not everyone is a pro with photo editing software.
Cover photos are optional. It's just another way to differentiate between stories and potentially attract more readers.
I like the idea. I often found myself seeing stories with similar titles getting updated and go to read and find it's not the story I thought it was.
What's the highest resolution the cover images can have? 1080p? Do they go up to 4k? It's vital for my narrative integrity. How much does it cost to ask someone to draw or take a photo, because I'm not a part of the one percent bourgeoisie and don't have money to throw away on the internet? Or will there be one stock photo that everyone uses repeatedly?
Looks awesome. Didn't realize this thread existed. Will there be capability to add a photo or photos to each thread, or just to the cover page? There are arguments for both options.
Glad you like it. We'll start with cover photos and integrate photos to threads later. Regarding the resolution: You can upload almost any resolution but it will be resized to fit the screen. Similar to Facebook's cover photos.
