A stubborn story, in this case, involves: Rewriting the plot almost completely, multiple times The theme is rewritten No matter how hard you try, you always stop and rewrite it Or an example is: I have a story. I have the characters (two of them has had their relationship shifted slightly, from twins to normal sisters, and back. Recently, they became friends/not sisters), the general theme (a maledom establishes a relationship somehow and dominates one, and uses her to help dominate the other) Then there is the setting/genre; changed from conspiracy (saw it in Tempting, maybe), to post-apocalyptic (Wasteland Sisters), to rich girls getting taught a lesson (Discipline), and the unpublished one, Incest Domination (was starting with sisters, big sis dominates the younger, or the reverse happens depending on choices, then I'd somehow bring in the maledom), now it is back to square 1 and trying to figure out how to rewrite it as the beginning of a Dom/sub relationship, building to the threesome. The stubborn part of that, is I want lesbian/lezdom along side the maledom, but the sub is meant to be in later. What are your stubborn stories? Maybe someone can help get your story straight and finally get it going. I use something called a "TV lifetime" method (not sure if it is original or not, since I have not heard of something similar), where you split the story into seasons. If it gets to 2 seasons, might be worth it, if you really enjoy the story. 3 seasons, good, but 4 seasons is best (any longer, it tend to get stale and dies off by itself), trouble is, you need to figure out the plot itself and figure out how to set it up asa TV show, then separate it into seasons. It hasn't worked on my unpublished story that I have rewritten more times than I can remember.
I've had a couple stubborn ideas that didn't go away until I wrote them out, but I've never gone back and re-written anything (maybe I should, given some of the drek I've written). Mostly I prefer to stick with what's written and work from there, rather than try to re-write and re-conceptualize things, but that's my personal preference - everyone will be different. Are you unhappy with your conception or your execution? Is there a certain scene or pairing you're trying to set up? Why are you writing it?
I sometimes rewrite a few paragraphs but I don't jump back and forth after writing the beginning of the story. Sometimes I write a rough draft which is more like collecting keywords and having non-final sentence fragments which might fit well. Though before I start writing, the idea might change a lot in my head and I think of different scenarios to find the one which has the biggest potential.
Good question. I think it is the concept, with a slight problem on execution. I get the general concept done, but then I run into problems and end up redoing what I have. Tough one. The ultimate pairing I always end trying for is MFF, FFM, or FMF. I tried starting with male, then getting the females, but it always ends up going fast, then I get burned out or feel like there is a big chunk of the story missing. The recent ones I tried starting with F/F, and maybe an anthology style addon that adds the Domme letting friends use the sub, but that might not happen. I am trying to write it, because there isn't many lesbian incest stories with bondage. There are a few incest stories with BDSM, but mostly male/female and not a lot of (if at all) sister/sister BDSM (number drops down with twins), but that wouldn't be enough. What I tried doing was create a mystery, but it ended up in the same trap My Submissive Sister ended up in; no idea how to advance it (but the reason for MSS, My Submissive Sister, ending up in that trap, was because I couldn't find much about how a fight between a ghost and a vampire would go) If I could figure out how to make them not so similar (I want to keep MSS up for people who want a quickie)
I guess that mostly depends on the kind of strengths/weaknesses of them. If the ghost is able to move things, they could build a wall of garlic around the house of the vampire or sth. The vampire could use anything a normal person could use against a ghost. Twins got separated at birth (They told the mother that one of the twins died.) - Twin A (dominant type) got raised by her mother. They had never much money and A had to work to support her mother. She's intelligent but can't/couldn't afford college. Life made her grow up quickly and now she is a confident, young woman. She has her hair short, only use subtle makeup, wears casual and usually worn clothes, nothing fancy. As she's pragmatic, her pubic hair is just trimmed. (If you argue that she never had time for boys, she could even be a virgin) - Twin B got adopted by or rather have been sold to a rich family. She had everything she wanted if she just begged her parents for it. She is intelligent but didn't give a fuck to learn. She developed a bitchy attitude as a facade to hide her insecurities. She always clung to others to have someone who would make the decisions for her. She has long hair, uses a lot of makeup, always wears jewelry, wears only brand-name clothes, only the best. She thinks, she has to be perfect, so her pussy is waxed blank and her breasts are enlarged (alternatively or additionally, she could have some piercings or other body modifications which aren't visible straight away (e.g. no lip fillers)). - The male part M is a successful business guy. He is dominant and a few years older than the twins. He is engaged with twin B and maybe also tried some dom/sub stuff with her (at least in an innocent way like cuffing her to bed.) - The beginning: M meets A by accident, slightly surprised but her "new" hairstyle. Nevertheless, he greets her, hugs her and frenches the shocked girl. As soon as she recovers, she pushes him away and slaps his face. At first, he assumes that she's doing a roleplay like B had joked the one night after he fucked her several times without releasing her from the cuffs (flashback with B "promising" that she will do much worse to him and that he will lick her feet and whine for mercy.) Maybe A even kicks his balls (or use mace, though that might not fit her confidence.) A then goes/runs away. M then goes home... just to realize that his girl still has long hair. Not telling her about the incident, he searches for the other girl and finally finds her. Before he faces her again, he gives her some sort of safeness. This could be done by sending her flowers with an apology letter with a picture of B in which he says that he has mistaken her for his girl and requests a meeting at a restaurant or place of her choice. ...
I believe the problem was, that I tried to make vampires the result of a Rabisu bringing back somebody who had died recently, minus the soul. They didn't have the spirit part of a Rabisu (which are vampiric spirits from Akkadian mythology), so a Rabisu would've been able to fight a ghost much easily due to them being mainly spirits. The thing was, I wrote about the vampires and not what I wanted to, which was the Rabisu. The one problem is trying to make a title, subtitle, and summary. Title is a little easy, thanks to fantasynamegenerators' book title generator, I can get an idea for the title, but the rest are a pain.
Well, I'd rather say that title is the most difficult part as it should be short and catchy, describing exactly what the story is about without revealing anything of it. I wouldn't want to use a generated title which is just a combination of words connected with "and" or "of." The subtitle could be a long version of the title, a contradictory statement, or a more revealing version of the title. For the summary, you just have to choose some basics of your story and write a few sentences about it. Maybe making it somewhat unclear to avoid spoilers. But first, you must have a clear vision of your story. If you have already written a few chapters, the other things might come on their own.
Woof. My stubborn stories? Might as well be all the stories I have written XD My first story I viewed as something generic and simple, an easy story to start from as my first experience in writing. But I remember fondly of another author who began published their story around the same time I did, and their story was showing much more success then mine. More views, more likes, more followers. I believe to this day that writer still has way more followers than I do. So I set out to rewrite my story and attempted to add more, better grammar and more detail, I tried to flesh out the story and make it interesting or enticing to read, well as much as you can while still being an erotica of course. In the end I felt I was putting in overtime publishing four chapters a day only to receive the same likes as their two chapters every few days received. Yea likes and views and all that shouldn't mean much and I agree... but it is still rewarding to get XD My second story I never published, I'm too nervous. It's odd because each chapter has a different stranger confessing to a sexual experience they've had or some sort of taboo, I was aiming to be different and unique but I grew a bit nervous and kept it on hold since. I don't want to publish something that might not catch ahaha. I'm still really nervous on that topic, shame too because I thought I put in a lot of work on making it one of a kind. I felt like maybe that's the answer that would catch eyes but in the end I worried too much and kept it on the shelf ever since. Then comes my third story which I did publish. It was character and story focused and in a fantasy setting where I had plenty to of ideas to work with. It didn't catch on XD one guy gave it to me straight on why it wasn't doing well. The story was weird, my writing was off and the aim and direction didn't seem to fit for a chyoa story as it was linear. Point taken, so I altered it by adding in multiple branches from the start based on separate characters and completely rewrote the title, the introduction, and even changed the cover photo for it. It's STILL very low profile, not too many are interesting in reading it I suppose. Oh well, I like writing in it. Just would be nice to feel rewarded, not even with likes or follows but with feedback. Maybe it's the idea where the first impression is the most important. I think I just suck at first impressions while others are amazing at it. *shrug* just a thing you gotta learn to deal with I suppose. But yea, stubborn stories. I hate that it includes all of my stories XD
Agree on that. A story which doesn't have a decent amount of content (like 1-2k words) with a great hook might get ignored and never opened again.
A shame too, as I've rewritten and published new content for a wider audience. Just comes to show that first impression means everything. Perhaps as a joke I could republish my new content as a new story to see how that goes. It's a funny idea XD even funnier if it does better than my current story hahaha
If you have rewritten most of the story, you could also change the title and image and update regularly. If I would review stories and notice it, I would most likely decline it
Well we know better now don't we? XD thanks for the feedback and the image is new I believe, haven't looked at using a new one. Hmmm...
