With 2020 about to start, in Australia anyway, what're everyone's New Year's resolutions? Let's hear Chyoa wise and otherwise.
Keep breathing. I mean some might say it's a low bar, but at the same time considering the way most NWRs go, it's pretty ballsy if you ask me.
This is going to sound really annoying and like I’m preaching, but far from it.... In October I gave up smoking, cut my alcohol consumption by 80%, joined a gym for the first time in my life and went on a diet (I’ve dropped 2 stone/ 28lb). My new years resolution is to keep it and not be the sofa slob I was before. Sorry...told you that would be annoying!!
My CHYOA Goals for New Year I would like to finish my thread in Affection Multiplier - Unlikely I would like to get Story of the Week once (probably with a new story or my old) - Unlikely I would like to get my energy for writing (and also reading) the stuff I like (free use and MC) back again - Hopefully I would like to get over 100 followers - Unlikely (do not pity follow) I would like to get another chapter that has over 100 likes - Unlikely (do not pity like) I have personal goals too but I rather not say here.
I think my goal will be to get to 1000 chapters written. Currently 538 so 462 in 2020. Possible if I stay at my current job...... I'd like maybe a handful more stories published too. Currently working on three but very early days. There's a certain story in my back catalogue I'd love to actually get it to how I see it being in my head. Unlikely as the chapters are just so damn hard to write! Personally I'd like to finish off the last of my debts. Made great roads into that this year. I have a holiday booked for New Zealand later this year. (That could be the setting of a new story....)
Finish the (non-CHYOA, non-erotic) book I'm writing. Finish the (CHYOA, erotic) story I've been working on, Lois Lane's Night Out. If I manage the latter, I get to start a new story...
CHYOA - Just improve as a writer. When I look at my earliest chapters, I realize how much I've improved. A year from now, I want that same feeling when I look at the chapters I'm currently writing. I'm happy with the progress that I've made but know that there's a long way to go. Not sure if that made sense... Personal - Cut out some time consuming clutter from my life. I've spent way too much time playing this dumb game on my phone. I don't even really enjoy it. It's just a habit at this point. Another is the dreaded youtube rabbit hole. How many hours have I wasted watching videos that I don't really give a shit about? Actually... I don't want to know.
Chyoa NYR... Try to get to 500 chapters (currently 162), but I write meaty 1k chapters so it’s hard! I’d really like to bring my first story the P.A to a close, it lost steam so would be nice to wrap it up with a bit of pride. But story of the week would be amazing, just once and I’d die happy!
CHYOA - Make something entertaining with other folks, enough that I inspire a few to write with us. I think I've already achieved that somewhat with my Red Alert chapter, though laziness killed that immediately. Shouldn't be too hard, right? Real life - The least I want to do is that I actually learn how game development and/or 3D modelling works. Better do myself a favor than fuck around.
