Rogriss leads his companions out of the temple, heading unto the woods, watching carefully for bears and racists. When they arrive in sight of the hut, he calls them to a stop. "So, how are we doing this? I vote that we just be honest, but I'll follow your lead."
“By the way, Rogriss...” Celine began as the group was walking towards Verena's hut “...what, exactly, did you do when you met the witch previously? I think we should know, so that we would know not to do the same.”
"Not much." The half-orc shrugs. "I just wanted to get a look at her to confirm that she was the target, so I fed her a story about being an admirer who wanted to gaze upon her beauty. She slammed the door on me, but not before I managed to get a look inside the hut. It seemed fairly regular, small and with a cauldron in the back, though I've heard magic can obscure that kind of thing." The green man yawns. "Just don't act like a pervert, and you'll be fine." He flashes a conspiratorial smile. "I know that that's hard for people like us, but we should be able to manage, at least for a little while."
“So you tried hitting on her and she slammed the door in your face. In other words we should not trying flirting with her unless she's obviously interested. Got it.” Celine said, then rolled her eyes at the half-orc's comment. “Hard for you, maybe. I'm sure Aly and I can act professional when working just fine. Right?” She looked at the redhead as she asked that. “Intentionally acting like a pervert, if the job requires it, on the other hand... I can handle that, but it might be a bit of a problem for you, Aly. Better avoid jobs that might make that sort of thing necessary.” She advised her friend.
"It's about a day from here. You just have to travel to the capital and you will find the rock - can't miss it. After that, it's searching around."
'Hmm, so she probably won't be thrilled to see you again,' Alyndra said, 'Yeah, I think you better sit this one, just stay within ear-shot so you can help us if things go awry.' She looked at Celine, 'Okay, I'll leave the perversion to you then, shouldn't be hard.'
Rogriss sits on a log and sharpens his sword with a whetstone. "Alright. Call out if you need anything."
@Tjf @moonblack @unisol_gr44 It took the crew about four hours to reach the hut. The sun was now right at high noon right now, making the place the witch was living, look common.
“I'll pretend that was a compliment... anyway, lead the way, Aly. I'm sure you'll make a better first impression than me.” Celine told the redhead, then looked at Rogriss. “Try not to get bored... and keep an eye out, in case anyone else comes, be it a cultist, another bounty hunter, or just a villager in need of some herb.” She told him, then followed Alyndra's lead towards the hut.
'I'm going first? Alright, let's see what she has to say,' Alyndra went to the hut and knocked on the door, waiting for the witch to open up.
@moonblack @unisol_gr44 After knocking the redhaired woman opens the door and looks suspiciously at the duo. "A redhead and an elf?" She raised an eyebrow. "What do you want?" She asked harshly.
'Hello, I am Alyndra and this is Raven,' Alyndra introduced them, 'There's something urgent we need to discuss... it's about High Priestess Carina.'
'There might be a way to... remove her from the picture? We just need your help with it,' Alyndra said, 'May we come in?'
The woman didn't move for a moment, then opened the door wider, nodding for the duo to come in. As they look around, they notice few books, a cauldron, few strange trinkets, a kitchen stove, vegetable shelves, bed - it looked like a combination of a normal house and witch's hut. "Now, speak you two. Who are you and what did you meant by that?"
@Auraicide As Catherine travelled through the road, she passed a woman sitting in the shadow of the tree. "Hey there, fellow traveller. Will you drink tea with me?" The woman asked.
'We are bounty hunters and as you might know, Carina put a bounty on your head,' Alyndra said, 'But... there's also a bounty on the High Priestess Carina posted by one of her subordinates, Juanita. We need a forbidden book, which could be deposited in Carina's belongings.'
