"No spam allowed" blocking a message...

Trying to send a message, and this popped up, stopping me.

Tried to rewrite the message a bit later, got the same block.

Never had this before in messages, and I've messaged a lot.

Anyone else got this? What's the deal?

Sorry for the trouble! I had to block links in messages temporarily because spammers used the messaging functionality to send out promotional links. However, certain phrases are still blocked (like the domain endings".fun", ".it", ".site").

I could look at the message if you want me to search for the reason.

    Not a huge deal.
I deleted the message... but the weird part was that I didn't have any links in it, or anything approaching the key domain stuff you listed.

If it happens again I'll shoot you a PM.

It was a small sacrifice in exchange for no (limited) message spam.

I've noticed by now that line breaks have been ignored in the spam analysis. For example, "end of line.<line break>It" was interpreted as "end of line.it" and then as a domain.

    This is now fixed.

Cool. I'd be surprised if that wasn't the exact problem.

  9. Sorry to necro an old thread, but I had this problem too just now. I think it was because I used an ellipsis in my message.

I just had the same problem. "can work...it seems" was triggering the spam blocker. Changing to "can work--it seems" allowed the message to go through. Was a very frustrating 45 minutes until I found this thread.
