It's looking likely that I will.

Round here, the virus has gone from a non-issue to an apocalyptic event in the span of like, two days. I don't like where things are going, but at least more free time is one meagre benefit.

I am just waiting for the email that tells me I can work from home... then I plan to take several little writing breaks! ;)

We're still sorting out the remote work from home situation for my job... and yeah if I'm sitting at my computer at home by myself I may have Scrivener open as well. The tiniest of silver linings... if I can focus on anything enough to want to write instead of driving myself crazy reading thousands of terrifying stories about the virus on twitter.

I'm a weird combination of a nervous worrier and a hopeless optimist, so while I expect things to get very bad in a lot of places I still have this weird hope that at the end society may realize some things about how poor the social safety net has been allowed to get in so-called 'rich' countries and how much more needs to be done to ensure everyone is protected a lot more than they are now.

Dang, I hope it works out for you. I realized talking to some of my coworkers today that not all of them can actually take their work with them, sort of put things in perspective for me too that not everybody's got it as easy as I lucked out on. Our company was pretty ill prepared for this sort of thing and yet a lot of people have it worse.

In this case, no social safety net is worth anything.
Even if you pay for everyone, you would need a healthcare system that operates with a lot over overcapacities.
As that is far from cost-efficient, you might not find that in the "rich" countries right now.

And if there are too many severe cases at once, the system collapses and then they will start to categorize patients by their chance of survival.

Was really hopping to see a lot of stories that see stalled be started again with how things are going. So far though I am finding that not the case. So I am left sitting here bored and thinking that I might try my hand at writing a story. Though I must admit that I am afraid to put what i write out there.
