"Auntie." @asddas193 Turning to the ronin. "Allow me to escort you outside. Otherwise, I can offer you our hospitality, including a room to stay for the night. The Yakuboo clan will not turn away an honorable samurai."
There's the sound of shuffling outside, but so far, no one has responded. The shogun hurriedly redresses, pulling out a tanto secreted in a hidden kimono pocket.
'He doesn't know me. It's been nearly twenty-one years, but he may recall my mother, Lanying,' Jian told the guardsmen, 'I believe he's my father, he gave my mother this family crest as he departed.' The young man produced the crest from his pocket and showed it to the officer.
Midori continued smiling at her sister. “Oh, I can already think of a few things. Too many, in fact. Perhaps you could give me a small hint? What would you like, sis?”
Seeing this as a chance, Jurobei stands between the Shogun and the window, as he unsheeted his sword. Let the young woman think she has secured his loyalty. He carefully looks around, ready to call the guards.
"Oh." The spearmen scratch their heads, while the samurai officer face palms. "Grrrr, you'd better come inside then. Just be aware that we will check your claim, and if you're found to be lying, the penalty for pretending to be highborn, or related to someone highborn, is death." Despite the warning, Jian can tell that they don't find his claim particularly implausible.
Saeki chuckles. "Well, you'd be using your hands." Their mother coughs, before standing. "Well, girls, I'm heading to bed. Sleep well."
Through the screen window, he sees a young kunoichi in the hall, blade stabbing through the ceiling, with a small amount of blood on it. As he looks at her face, he realises that though he's not familiar with this particular woman, she has the distinctive look of the Rai Clan, meaning that this is one of his daughters. @Regin34 Lord Yokuboo stands in the doorway, staring at her. By now, the ninja from the floor above has lifted his foot off of the sword, and scurried away.
“Good night, mother. Sweet dreams.” Midori watched their mother leave before turning her attention back to her sister. “Let's finish eating and put away the dishes, then we can continue this conversation some place else, like in my room or in yours.” She suggested.
@Regin34 Jurobei glares at his subordinate - which meant little. It was normal for him to glare. "Report!" He barks shortly.
Jian gulped, 'I did not know that... I hope my mother didn't make up some tall tale to make me feel better about not having a father.' He sighed, 'Well... lead the way then.'
Saeki chuckles, and they finish their chores, before she heads to her room, leaving the sliding door ajar.
Two spearmen lead the foreigner inside the walls. Inside, he sees a buxom redhead in a skintight bodysuit, talking to a beautiful woman in a kimono. One of the spearmen looks over at Jian, saying "We'll give you freedom of the castle, but don't try to leave." @Mazoku @asddas193 The two women see a handsome young foreign man being led inside the castle by two spearmen.
Midori followed a couple of steps behind her sister, quietly checking her out from behind. When Saeki went inside her room Midori paused briefly outside and took a deep breath as she had a quick look inside through the ajar door. Then she entered as well and closed the door shut before looking at her younger sister.
'I'll have to wait to visit the teahouse again, then,' Jian nodded to the soldier, 'I won't cause any trouble, though I'm a bit surprised you neither searched me nor took my weapon.' Jian looked around the castle courtyard. There were certainly some interesting people around those parts.
Kyouka couldn't help but laugh as she heard the offer, "Honorable? You don't know me at all then." She said in an amused tone, "Fufu. Well, I appreciate the offer, but I will have to decline for now. I still have to inform my family that I will be taking part in the Kushan." She added as she waved her hand to dismiss the girl. And just as she mounts her steed, Kyouka sees the foreigner. "Hmm?" She cooed, scanning the young man. A merchant? No, he isn't gaudy enough. Politician? Unless he's skilled in combat, he's lacking some bodyguards. She grins menacingly at the prospect of him being a skilled warrior. But for now she contains herself, taking a deep breath to do so. "Well, maybe I'll take you up on your offer. Next time." She said with a smile, before riding off to her home.
She felt a little relieved to see her leave. "Our of our messengers could tell them." Though knowing it would likely be enough to convince her to stay, nor was it intended to. "Perhaps we will meet in the capital then." She allowed her to leave. Shifting attention to the newcomer. It was busy today. A foreigner? She squinted, thinking she could see some familiar lines in the shape of his face, but surely it was an illusion. Aunt Midori had said nothing, nor had any of the other children of Lord Yakuboo. Anyway, the latter was far away, visiting the revered shogun and preparing for the journey to the capital. If this was about business, she had to turn him away for the moment. Overall this was simply an awful time for visitors who expected an audience. Still, she had to make an effort for him to feel welcome. Walking forward, dismissing the pair of guards with a chop of her hand. Bowing low in greeting. "I am Chitsukiko Yakuboo, granddaughter of Lord Yakuboo. If you have come to see him, then I am afraid I can not accommodate you. We are preparing our journey to the capital and our lord is away on business." She smiled genuinely at him. "But anything else we can do for you?"
