This was always a problem, even back with chyoo.com: I have a high number of bookmarks, but I always only want to check every story updated since my last time. Going through all my pages takes me ages every single time (at one point I used a script to load one tab per bookmark page automatically, so I at least could look at them faster, but that's no solution - and is a waste of server bandwith). Is there a simpler way to do this, or is this really just a nice-to-have suggestion for the site not implemented yet? A really nice way would be to either sort all stories in once bookmarks by change date, or even just filter out every updated story (only showing updated/modified ones). Technically this is so easy to implement that I'm even more bothered by the fact that it's not implemented already than by it taking so much of my time. I read nearly all subboards in hope anyone suggested something like this, even going to the original boards on literotica => I couldn't find anything. If I'm just too stupid to find it, please give me a link, because this apparently not being a topic is bothering me way too much.
On chyoa every thread you haven't read yet will be shown green in the story map. If they are marked blue, they were updated after you read them the first time. There are also a date in the story map, which shows, when the specific thread was updated. If there is a new thread for a story, you'll get a notification (updated threads won't give a notification). So I'm not sure, if we need a filter for that.
In your list of bookmarks stories that have been updated since last time are shown in green. In the story map new threads are in green and threads that were edited after you read them are in blue. What I do is look for which stories are updated, middle-click each one to open each in a new tab, then look at the story map for the new threads. If necessary I can also use Ctrl+F and search for the current month to find threads from this month.
Well, the problem is that you need to look at every single entry to decide if they're green. I have a few hundred bookmarks, so this takes some time. And this is an easily automated process, so why not automate it?
I do too, but I do think the japanese system (yyyy-mm-dd) would be easier for that reason. Currently I use a browser extension allowing regex searches.
ok... I understand the problem. There should be an update soon (new version). Maybe Friedman just included sth. to solve that problem. If not, there should be a suggestion about that. A easy workaround could be to use the source code ("Seiten-Quelltext") or the function "Element untersuchen" (not sure, what it is called in english). open it and search for "circle" the link above will be link to the story
Just for people seeing this and wondering: It's actually a CSS class, which is probably even more useful: Custom CSS allows one to change it for one's own browser (google 'Custom CSS' for more information).
+1 (the first and more simple way I can think of it is the possibility to sort the already existing bookmarked stories list by the updated ones) AND I'd like to add another "must have" for me: a "button" on the story map to mark ALL threads as read, so that next time (especially with olded stories you already read) you'll easily spot the updated ones.
