Help! I am a new editor on a story and cannot see any unpublished chapters for said story.... where do I find the unpublished chapter? Thanks
That depends. If you are looking for one of your chapters that isn't published, you can go to "my chapters" and select "not published" from the drop-down menu. If you are looking for a chapter that someone submitted for approval, you should have gotten a notification with a link to the chapter. These chapters are also visible under "review chapers" or in the story map with "in-review" beside them. If you are looking for a chapter that the author hasn't submitted, there isn't much you can do short off checking every chapter in your story. Generally, I would strongly suggest leaving these alone because the author is still working on them.
I guess you want to proofread a draft chapter of the story owner. In that case, you would have to search it in the chapters. (You only see them in the list below the chapter question of the parent chapter.) In bigger stories that is pretty pointless. So I would suggest asking the story owner for the direct link or for the name of the parent chapter.
I have a question as well, it may be off topic, but I'm new to all this. How do I publish a chapter for a story I marked down as "Moderated". I have it saved, but I can't find any "publish" button or anything that resembles it.
If it's your own story, you can hit publish either when you finish (in which case, it's already published, no need to do anything further) or, if you saved the chapter to be published later, go back in and edit it, at which point you'll be able to hit the Publish Chapter button at the bottom. If youre looking for the edit option, it'll be in the menu accessed by that button that looks like three dots near the bottom of a chapter you wrote. If it's a brand new story you may need to publish the story itself first. That is done at the edit story menu, accessed either from your stories tab or from the first chapter by a message near the bottom of the page.
It is my story, but when I go in to edit the story, the only buttons at the bottom are "Save as Draft" and "Cancel". There is no Publish button.
Have you submitted the story for approval yet? You can do that using Publish Story in your story edit options. Until you do, you would only be able to save drafts. Do you have a link to the story? I could take a look.
Your story is already in review. As soon as it gets approved by a moderator, ALL current chapters will be published. After that, you will have the publish button for every chapter and your chapter will be public as soon as you publish them. (Right now, there are two child chapters to the introduction that seem to be identical.)
Never mind, everyone. My story just needed to be approved. I just found out it did, so everything is fine now. This is my first time going through this process, so thank you all for your help.
