The first thing that Nadya did when she saw the warehouse was to look for a way up high. A fire escape or side ladder which would lead her to have a view down into one of the upper windows, or better the skylights in the roof.
“Well, here we are. Good luck, everyone, I hope we all come out of this mission unscathed.” Seres spoke quietly as she looked at her companions, waiting to see if any of them had any suggestions in regards to their strategy for the upcoming battle. In any case she was not in a hurry to rush in and make herself a target for the imps.
There's a fire escape along the side of the building, though it's rickety and rusted out, not looking particularly safe. Nadya reckons that she can go up there, but she'll have to move slowly to prevent a collapse.
As they arrived, Melissa was immediately reminded of those horror movies with how the warehouse looked. "Well, I think we should all stick together, or maybe into teams of two." She gave her opinion, though she thought it was a safe options. Melissa didn't really have any ideas about battle tactics.
"Well I have my way in." The teen motioned at the fire escape with her head as she checked to make sure that her sidearm was easily accessible. Then she gave Erika a meaningful glance "and it looks like it'll only hold one person at a time, so no followers for me. So I'll let you all figure out the rest." In her mind, a companion would only serve to give away her location before she started shooting.
Seres looked at the climbing Nadya for a few moments before turning her attention to the rest of the team. “I say we give her a bit of time to get into position and start shooting. Then use that as a distraction to surprise the imps from another direction. And I agree about sticking together, at least the two of us,” Erika looked like she could handle herself in a fight. “We should try to keep the imps at a distance, if possible.”
"I see. stay safe, okay?" Melissa said in a gentle tone. Thinking Nadya was one of those loner students she's dealt with in the past. No use in forcing her to open up. She thought to herself as Seres spoke. "That is plausible. Gun shots make quite the distraction." Melissa replied, "We'll need to at least gauge how many imps there are. Otherwise, we might get surrouded."
Erika had been silent for most of the trip, oddly enough, sitting next to Nadya in both the helicopter and the car (and noticing that the smaller woman had a very distinctive odor around her like the one she used to smell coming off of the janitor for her old gym). Once they reached the warehouse, her eyes had an almost mad glint to them as she adjusted the specially made gear on her arms and legs. Her gloves, elbow and knee pads, and the soles of her boots each had a series of four Japanese kanji on them that she had been told said "Akuma no Shii", which roughly translated to "Demon Death". She was fairly confident that an organization like this was not bullshitting her on that count and had given her something that actually said "Rabbit Butt" or the like she had seen on the tattoos of others thinking they were covering themselves with "Oriental Wisdom". She laughs at Nadya's words. "Absence can make the heart grow fonder, honey. You do you." "Way I see it," Erika threw in, "We're gonna need to hit 'em hard and fast either way before they can organize. Either of you got something big and flashy that can make a lot of noise to take out the door once our little sourpuss starts popping heads? If not, I can probably just kick it in really hard."
@moonblack "Oh!" Melissa suddenly recalled one of her lessons during their training. "I can use my magic as a sort od sonar. I can tell where they are, and how many of them are hiding. But if they're cautious, they might realize someone just used magic." The sexy milf scratches her temple while letting out an awkward giggle, since she's already forgotten what kinds of magic she could use.
“I don't expect imps to be particularly cautious or aware, so that spell will probably work fine,” Seres shrugged “but before we do anything shouldn't we check to see if the door is actually locked? If it isn't – we won't need to break it down...” she pointed out.
Nadya's only response was a rather rude gesture with her middle finger as she turned around the side of the building. With careful steps, she tried to make her ascent as silent as possible while she carefully listened for any sound of activity on the fire escape above her. Her hand drifted to draw her pistol as the long barrel of her rifle was not suitable for the close quarters of the stairway.
@Tjf "That's right, but as long as there are windows. My wind magic should still work. I'll give it a shot." Melissa said in an upbeat tone as she channels her magic. Using her masterful control of mana, she extends her senses toward the wind. A gentle breeze blowing into the warehouse, giving Melissa a mental picture of everything the wind touches.
Climbing up the fire escape, and making use of espionage magic, both Nadya and Melissa are able to get a clear perspective on the imps. They number a dozen, clustered around the center of the warehouse. They seem to be arguing, quite heatedly, over their plans. One faction, the larger, shouts that it's time for them to go hunting, finding nubile women to impregnate, while the smaller faction says that they should keep laying low. They have no guards visible to either woman, and their attention seems to be focused on each other, so no one is watching the windows or front door. EDIT: Nadya can hear the imps speak, but Melissa can't.
"Alright. If you want to do it the BORING way..." Erika grumbles as she steps forward to take hold of the doorknob. She does not plan to turn it all the way and goes ever so slowly to try and make sure it does not rattle as she checks to see if it is indeed unlocked.
The knob turns, and the door moves forwards slightly with a squeak. She hears the imps arguing, but they don't seem to have heard her.
@Daylan @moonblack Melissa shares what she found out. "They seem to be at the center of the warehouse. By their positions, they seem to be discussing something." She said with a worried look.
Nadya continued to listen in on their discussion and pulled her rifle up and started to prepare a shot on the largest one as she waited for her companions to act
Seeing the door does indeed open, Erika keeps it at just the crack she currently has open, holding it in place so she does not slam it close or let it creak open further and give away their position prematurely. "Then they're good and distracted," she whispers, "The second I hear gunshots, I'm charging in. So stick behind me and do... whatever it is you're planning to do next."
“So, they are busy arguing, and the door seems to be unlocked,” she pointed at Erika was, having heard the door's squeak. Fortunately it seemed the imps had been too busy arguing to notice. “I think it is best to strike now, while they are distracted and we have the element of surprise. “We should aim to disable them so that they can't flee or attack us. After that we can finish off any survivors of our attack.” She suggested a simple plan of action that – to her – seemed good.
