Hi I'm new here. Earlier today I posted what I'd written but was having trouble linking threads. I went to the FAQ section but I was too confused as to what to do. I'm not familer with your system. I decided to put the story on hold until I sort it all out. Is there a way to do this in the story map? If not I could delete all my pages except for the first page. I have my story saved to my computer before I post it here. How do I link a thread? Is there a way to edit existing thread links?
There used to be a way to loop threads back to other story branches but maybe that functionality got taken out. It may be possible in the new update though.
Linking threads is described here: http://forum.chyoa.com/threads/two-questions-thread-linking-notification-about-comments.16/
If you wait a bit for the new version of the site, the linking will be getting properly integrated into the UI.
I can wait for the new version. I'm still writing the story but haven't placed the rest on the site for two reasons. 1. I am still trying to get an understanding of who the two main characters are. 2. I also don't want to rush myself and mess it up. For example Murakami if later when the new site is up could I delete the old story and start from scratch? I have it all saved on my computer. I wouldn't loose anything. And then begin to place it when the new site is up. Would that be acceptable for this site? Thank you all so much for answering my questions!
at the moment there is a link to request deleting of threads. You can also ask Friedman to delete the whole story. Maybe it could be also possible to administrate your story with the new version.
Ok thank you I will take your advice, Trugbild. Here is my new plan: I'll wait for the new version of the site to come out and then post it. From what I read about the new site people should be able to link using the view story map. That would make it easier for me, and other writers as a whole. In the mean time I'll continue writing the story. After I introduce the two main characters of the story, then I'll add tons of options that will follow the main plot. The new site will be out by next year correct?
