  1. It would be really great if we could edit/delete/re-post our comments/reviews on other people's stories... I made a mistake in a couple of them and it's pretty inconvenient to be unable to alter typos and such after the fact.

Rather than searching by "deepest thread" it'd be nice if it was possible to search by other things like average thread depth, or total threads. A deep story doesn't necessarily mean it has lots of choices, which is kind of what this site is all about. It'd be nice if these metrics were shown on story lists etc. Unless a custom metric is established, I think the default shown e.g. on the home page should be total threads.

A custom metric could perhaps include factors such as total threads, total number of choices, average depth, and average number of choices at each node.
This is possibly rather complicated to implement, but would be a pretty nice addition.

    Put a big +1 behind dirtytyke's suggestion.

In addition to dirtytyke's suggestion, which I wholeheartedly support, I have a suggestion of my own:

Currently, the sort by rating system is simply broken. A story with one 5/5 rating will rank higher than a story with 30 5/5 ratings and one 4/5 rating.
I gladly refer you to the following article, which discusses proper ways of sorting by rating: http://www.evanmiller.org/how-not-to-sort-by-average-rating.html
In essence, this boils down to incorporating the number of votes into the rating, as well as applying some statistics.
The article I linked to above provides sample code in Ruby. While I am confident you are able to convert this to whatever you use, if you need any help, I'd be glad to provide it.

A few suggestions for improving the new site:

    - Previously, using the "Bookmarks" dropdown box thing at the top of the screen would show us all of how favorited/bookmarked threads with a notification next to them to indicate that they were updated since our last visit. This does not appear tho be the case anymore, so I would like that feature returned, if possible.
    - Similarly, in that "bookmarks" dropdown box, we used to be able to scroll up and down the list rather that needing to visit an entirely different page. That is functionality that I would also like to see returned.
    - Along those lines, upon visiting the new page that houses all of our bookmarked/favorited stories, we are only given the options to sort/filter them alphabetically, or by the date we bookmarked them. A much more useful feature would be the ability to sort them based on the most "recently updated". That way we could see at a glance which of our favorite stories have been updated without needing to sift through the entire list of favorites/bookmarks.

Would it be feasible to implement a "sort-by" function in the Story Map, like sort by most recent/oldest, sort by most views, etc. ?

Agreeing with xgkf's suggestions wholeheartedly, and I haven't even seen the current method.

I noticed some new categories were added in the update, how hard would it be to add a few more when we go to 2.1?

In specific I am thinking of the following: 'Story Games'/'Game Story', and 'Cross Genre'.

'Cross Genre' covers an uncomfortable no mans land which presently I use 'Miscellaneous' for, where depending on where you go in the story you could wind up in 'Interracial', 'BDSM', 'Incest', 'Lesbian', or 'Group Sex', and perhaps several at once...

'Story Games'/'Game Story' is something else, which there are at least as many of as 'Toys/Masturbation', where the story is a vehicle for playing an RPG or other game, like my own 'A Game of Gods' or Swamp Thing's 'Slut World' of which I am sure there will be many more when conditional SL's and the other variables go live...

Gotta say i am not a big fan of the changes. First thing i noticed was that was the notifications issues listed above. i do not need to see every notification since god created the earth, just show the ones since i logged in. second thing i noticed and hate is the "recent" and "new" stories sections. It appears as if you can only see the last 24 updated stories which currently is the last 4 hours. there appears to be no way to "view more" or "view all". i thought i might go to the recent activity section but it has a million entries for "so and so" liked this chapter, "so and so" liked that chapter. I do not care about about that stuff i only want to see updated stories, not what everyone else is doing on the website. this is not facebook/twitter.

Are you wholly sure about that? Look how successful those sites have been, and now consider the relative lack of interest this site has suffered from...

Leaving the search box at the top of the page empty, click on the magnifying glass.

Now change the "Sort by" dropdown to "Last Activity."

That will show you all stories in order of most recent update.

I have not read all the posts here, but this is an idea I've had for most cyoa online stories. I think it would be a very powerful tool for the author to be able to bulk download their story. (just author, not everyone) so they can have 1) their own personal back up. 2) a copy to travel with if internet isn't available. 3) A way to remotely edit content. 4)share with friends/ co-authors who may not be available to navigate to this site.

Just an idea. I recognize that this would be a lot of work for the site developers.

I'd like to see some sort of ability to read formatting from other programs. When Italics were written as asterisks it was easy to just write them in. But now since italics are Rich Text, then I have to write them into my story in Word, then post into the body of the test using Copy-Paste, then cross reference and manually re-add all of my italics. It just... takes a while. It's a lot of extra work.

You can switch back (in Right Menu/Settings/Options) to the non rich-text editor to let you add emphasis without leaving the text pane using asterisks, etc.
