Taylor didn't look impressed. "Except, you know. That just ends up with arresting a lot of actually innocent people, it looks like. I don't think you get it. We're not good. Fuck you. Fuck you, and your boys. Fuck, the media shitstorm you're going to get. My reputation is already ruined. People are going to assume I must have did it anyway. So what the fuck do I lose by taking you with me? Do you get how bad you fucked up, I'm siding with a lawyer? At any point, one of your guys could conduct an actual investigation or think about anything. Instead, you just want to pat yourselves on the back for busting heads and not even do it correctly. And-did I say this yet? FUCK YOU." Anger was actually rising through Taylor's calm voice, with a certain smugness. She literally wouldn't have anything to lose if she was disbarred. She had no reason to protect them. The captain was assuming this was all going to be a laughing matter later...no.
"Stop being such a drama queen. Each citizen can be arrested for 48 hours. And you, well some people think you were arrested. I allowed the lawyer to keep the appearances, buy us some time to crack this while keeping others in the dark. You? Well, Romero found you and brought you to the police station, because some asshole wanted demonstration on workings of handcuffs and lost his keys from them. Now, will you stop being a drama queen and start thinking?"
"You can't keep me here without a reason. Sounds like you think you have a good one though. Even if this is meant to be like a cover thing, it still makes everyone look bad." Taylor sat back in her chair and sighed. She was way too strung out to properly listen. "Let's hear it. Make it quick."
"Sorry. Still, you din't exactly tell me. Ah, whatever." Jack fixes his clothes as well, laying down the requested amount of credits, and beginning to tinker with the new rig to make sure no one has tampered with it. "We good?"
Valerie settled back on the bed, surprised that the 'doctor' had arrived so quickly after she'd regained consciousness. "Truthfully, I'm feeling fantastic and empty doctor. But that's not what I'm interested in discussing right now. I was hoping to talk with you about one of the... enhancements you've made," as she said the word 'enhancements' Valerie reached out and gently touched the doctor's knee and hid her shock at how good the other woman's skin felt against her fingers. "Specifically about whether or not you'd be able to do something for me." She locked eyes with the woman as she said this, a suggestive twinkle in her eye. "If you can I'd be very, very grateful." This final comment she made sure dripped with innuendo. Another gamble, she didn't know if this doctor swung that way, but she really wanted to do something about that bomb reset condition.
The answer had been a bit of both. So many chances she had given, only for all of them rejected, but it was easier when people were actively firing back at you. This murder had been cold. Eva said goodbye to her domme, asking to meet up someday as if it had been a normal conversation. After turning the engine on and hearing the motor hum to life, she drove away. Her plan was still unchanged, find a less hospitable district, and turn on the heat. Might be a dunk of gasoline in the back she could use, otherwise had to get creative. As she drove, she searched the front of the car for the taser's charging cord and put it in. It wouldn't be much, but she intended to keep the weapon. Eva also took Skye's police cap and put on her head. Her speed was high, but within the legal limit as she drove. A car felt so clunky compared to a sleek, musclebound motorcycle able to weave through the traffic.
"If that makes you feel better, I am throwing much in order to make it happen. I am already screwed by the chief because of it - literally. If you fuck up, I will be even more screwed with my whole career fucked." She paused. "Someone pulled a lot of favours to get things set like that. But still, screwed the execution. The video in the warehouse showed you killing Nathan - but it was third-hand quality. Already it was proven false. So you don't have to worry about your reputation - spin in a good way, make it more colourful, you can get a boost. But that is only if you find preparator." She finished her cigarette. "When the lawyer returns, you play all the drama, then when she leaves, you are back on the case. You will have 48 hours to catch the prep." She finished.
Olivia smirked making Jack think she was having one over him. "Yeah, we good." She said as she cleaned and opened the curtains. "Drop-in anytime." She said with a hot smirk.
Taylor sighed. This was going to be a complete pain. But she'd just have to go along with it. She wasn't sure if she could manage in such a narrow time frame and she'd hate to break it to the captain, but Taylor wasn't especially concerned over the blonde's pr career. Still she had someone to catch. "Fine. But I'm going to need to be given something to work with. A video of me killing him has to be fake, since I didn't do it...so someone who looks just enough like me, I guess. That doesn't give me a lot to go off. Guess we should open by looking for any gals with a criminal record, dark hair and big...guns....it's a start, but not much."
The doctor hesitated, but if Valerie was good in one thing, it was in making people... communicate. "Normally, I stay away from work, especially as controversial as you." Valerie shuddered as she felt the woman's finger move along her labia. "Which... enhancement would you like to talk about?"
Eva derived next to the river on the right and forest on the left, through empty road. She easily found the charger to the teaser. With a police cap on her head, she looked like a policewoman - as long as no one looked at her closer, and didn't notice the body next to her, she would be alright. As she was about to turn to the slums, she noticed several police vehicles on signals. It seemed that there was some kind of action taking place.
The Chief pushed a memory stick to Valerie. "The video." She said. "I'll be leaving my career in your hands. Don't fuck it up." She said as she got up.
(Valerie?) The detective takes the stick. She'd have to inject it into her port to investigate later. She'd do that once she left the station. She was time stamped to get a move on...but it's been the hell of a day. And if there was any moles in the department, she'd be better off doing her investigation at home. She'd need to get back out there later, but she would need a drink later. She let the chief leave, as she went over her own visual memory of her day trying to scan for any oddities of her arrival to the point she was arrested, while waiting for the lawyer to come back so she could be out of here and back at her flat.
(Sorry, Taylor. Too many characters named Valerie going around. And your character will need a netrig to access that stick) Eleanor returned a moment the Chief left, frown marking her face. "Has she tried to dust everything under the rug? I hope you didn't agree to anything." She said as she sat down, again taking out her papers. "Because in your situation, you can actually sue the police for negligence, unlawful arrest, and a few other minor things. If things go well, we might even get official apologises from the Chief and get you a nice sum of compensation."
Jack installs the rig, and rolls his eyes. "See ya, Liv." He heads back to his aunt's car. "Hey, Auntie June. Sorry it took so long."
Taylor had to think about it. It was a tempting offer. Honestly, probably the smart idea. What did she owe these guys really? Looking at the lawyer, she thought on it. "Hey, I'm still a cop. Someone's got to do their job right. And it ain't gonna be them, so it's gotta be me." She wasn't really loyal to the station exactly, but she a commitment to the well being of the city. "Don't get me wrong. We're not dropping the case yet. Do all your prep work and everything and you'll get your fee. I'll decide if it goes to court later. You're still getting paid for your time if I drop the case....there's a good chance, I'm still a little bit cranky about the whole thing." Explaining the situation to the lawyer, Taylor began to get up to leave with the lawyer out of the station.
Valerie struggled to control the sensations running through her body as the doctor's fingers traced along her more sensitive areas. "To put it bluntly doctor, I'm interested around the bomb's reset conditions. They're tied specifically to Mr. Tomioka's semen correct? I was wondering if it'd be possible to trigger a reset once anyone's sperm enters me." Everything that Kano had this doctor do to her she could work around, and eventually be able to counteract. But the condition that she had to have him orgasm in her once every three days would eventually pose a problem. Better find the solution now than come up against a roadblock however long in the future. She'd certainly still go to Kano once every three days, as he wished, to keep up the appearance. But when the time eventually came, and she had the remote, and the current reset password, she didn't want to have to keep him alive so that she'd stay alive. She licked her lips suggestively at the doctor and said in a very insinuating tone. "If it is possible I'd be very grateful for your assistance. In fact I'm sure we'd be able to find something I have that'd be worth your efforts."
June looks at him, sniffs the air and shakes her head. "You just had failed at getting into woman's pants, and already got into another's?" She sighed. "You stink of sex."
Eleanor winced. "She gave you an offer, didn't she?" She sighed. "Listen, whatever that bitch offered you, she will push you under the bus as soon as she hears word 'promotion'. Whatever she offered, it's not worth it."
"Hm~" The doctor moved her hand over Valerie's chest. "And why should I risk and help you? You have a bomb in you, and are very likely to have a rather short career before you. Just leaving things as they are, would be far better for me~"
