As I had this thing come up In a couple of my stories... How would you react if somebody of the opposite gender would knock on your door naked? I really like to know what you think in the poll above. But would also like to know what you exact first words would be if somebody would show in front of your door naked? ( More detailed this would be somebody that you don't know or wouldn't know that well and you are in no way sexually connected with the person already)
I mean it kind of depends a lot on why they're doing it. If they were in distress or beaten up/injured, I'd invite them inside and let them use my phone plus give them clothes because I'd want to help. If this was someone's desperate attempt to hit on me or something I'd tell them to go away and slam the door in their face even if I liked them or found them attractive. It's a really creepy way to come on to someone and it would make me think really badly of the person to be honest. I'd even be tempted to call the police on them.
I think their body language would be important too. Like, if they're standing there meatspinning at you it's different than if they're covering themselves, lol. Personally, I feel like I would want to be empathetic and help them. Now if they show up naked, I offer to help them, then while we're inside they make a move on me... that is not a bad story element. I don't want it to happen in real life though! I'm too shy.
To give examples I had this happen in two of my stories like this: 1. Was that they lost their clothes in the woods and they rang the bell at the first house they found. 2. They were playing truth or dare and somebody dares her to knock the neighbor's door naked. So it was distress in the first case. And kind of in between hitting on and distress in the second case. Also curious how long the interaction would take at the door before deciding to actually let a stranger inside naked? 10 seconds ... 1 minute ... 2 minutes?
In both cases I'd probably be very shocked and ask what they were doing and give them a chance to explain. 1. I'd probably let them inside as soon as they told me happened to borrow some of my clothes. It'd probably take just under a minute for me to ask and them to say what happened, then they could come inside and I'd try to help them get home. 2. If they did explain rather than just run away, I'd probably be kind of angry and tell them to just not do this anymore because it's a stupid dare and kind of dangerous to be honest. I wouldn't let them in unless they couldn't find their clothes anymore and needed more desperately. If that was the case I might let them borrow some of my mine again.
In real life? That sounds like sexual harassment to me. If she had anything to explain, she would do so immediately; if she didn't explain why she was naked immediately, it couldn't be that important. So I'd just tell her to fuck off. In fiction, on the other hand, you can write characters that simply would not get offended. Reality and the need for consent get in the way of fantastical sexual encounters, but you can easily remove both from your story.
It would entirely depend on whether or not the person in question is hot and whether the girlfriend is home to give the go-ahead. Angie Everheart will be getting clothes, a phone call and anything else she finds of interest in my apartment. Roseanne Barr will be knocking for quite some time.
I feel like pointing out gender of the "assailant" would play a big role in the decision. A naked girl at the door? Sure, get inside! It's not like she has weapons on her... A naked man at the door? Dude, stay there 'till I get you something to cover up. He could still try to knock me out. Just like when you take on a hitchhiker. Girls and young boys who do not look physically intimidating have the green light, bearded hoboes walk.
I’d size him up and down, for sexual appeal first. Then if I approve, I’d tell him that it’s his lucky day, because he is right on time, to be my test subject in a variety of sexual edging experiments I’m about to conduct!
My immediate reaction would be to assume the person has a mental illness, hence potentially dangerous. There is also the chance of an elaborate scheme, for example there is a scam which involves one person playing a victim of a car accident and while a helper gets out of the car to help the "victim" he gets assaulted. That seems similiar in nature. I would call the cops first. Can't even say if i would open the door at all. Depends on the situation, i guess. yeah, i'm not a very trusting person.
Generally just ignore anyone who knocks on my door ever. Kind of like getting me to answer my phone too
If I don't know them at all, that'd make me pretty wary. I guess it would depend on how physically imposing they are, their demeanor, am I alone? I'd like to think I'd at least toss some old, unused clothes out a window or something for them. If they are wearing a goalie's mask or carrying a chainsaw all bets are off though
My gut reaction to this would be to immediately get them inside and covered up to maintain their dignity, whilst immediately offering my mobile for them to make any necessary calls they might need, or even getting the a nice cuppa to set their nerves straight again, all regardless of if I knew them or not. There's something primal in all male brains that screams at us to protect the opposite gender I suppose. However as a believe a few people have mentioned, if they are clearly unstable IE: Covered in blood that's clearly not their own I would almost immediately phone the police after phoning the police and keeping my distance from them and a close eye on them. Unless of course this is the start of some real-life crime drama where I am suddenly thrust into the role of a Liam Neeson/Colin Farrell type and have to fight some crime syndicate to protect an escaped prostitute or the crime-boss' daughter, then obviously you trust the universe will provide you with innate knowledge of how to kick ass. As for exact first words? Probably something along the lines of 'Jesus christ girl what the fuck happened to ya, is everything ok?'
