First, I love the new chyoa format! It is simply amazing. Many thanks for all those who worked on it. Second, can I add a picture to the body of the text or to the head of each thread? I know we can add a picture to head each story (thank you!), but is that it? Thank you again.
With the following syntax Code:  you can add pictures. Be aware that they will not scale to anything, so you should use pictures small enough to fit into the text width on every customary screen.
This only works for eternally hosted images (Imgur, etc.). We do not have facility for storing them on the site itself at this time. (Technically, this functionality is just a part backend software's capabilities. It is not actually a site feature, it just happens to work. Only the Avatars and the Story Cover images are actual supported image features right now.)
I'm having a fantastic time looking for appropriate images for each of my stories. It's a slow process with as many stories as I have.
