“Well, aren't you lucky.” Velaelle said to her, even though the dead woman likely lacked the intelligence to understand her. The noblewoman was about to unleash a second volley on her target and finish her off, when she noticed that the two male zombies seemed to be doing surprisingly well. Leaving the damaged zombie for someone else to finish, Vela changed targets and aimed another volley of arcane bolts at one of the Male Zombies instead in an attempt to help her beleaguered companion. Spoiler: Attack Roll Roll(1d20)+4: 13,+4 Total:17 Target: Maze Zombie 2
The zombie lashed out, claws and teeth ready to attack, expecting the demon to be an easy target like the rest of these mortals, and as it tried to take a bite out of her shoulder, the white haired demon didn't even attempt to dodge. All it did was barely manage to nip at neck line in nothing more than a play bite. She looked over her shoulder to see the rest of the people fighting alongside her struggling, and didn't even really flinch or fight off the zombie as it tried in vain to bit through her deceptively through sinew. As far as she was concerned, all these things really could do was annoy you. But it did seem like not everyone was sharing the same level of ease. In absolutely no hurry to react as the zombie continued to try and chew, she looked back to her attacker with the kind of annoyance someone would expect from not being able to find their housekeys rather than a zombie trying to eat her flesh. "...you're not really getting the whole "Demon God" thing, are you?" Smiling, she calmly lifted her claw up again and retaliated driving them right through the eye of her attacker. Spoiler: Attack Roll Roll(1d20): 16
(With no actual physical damage, does that mean her bodysuit is still in one piece?) "Ghh!" Groaning as she's bit, and clawed. Cybele was more than used to being attacked, but the years of peace in her world had taken its toll. Reducing the warrior's stamina, and what little defense she bothered to put up, as she'd usually just go on a rampage and keep on attacking. She shakes her head, snapping her out of her daydream. Cybele jumps backward, creating some distance toward the zombies. And as she saw a spell fly toward one of them, she lunges at the other. Once again using her spear to stab into the monster's forehead.
Val watched her arrow strike center mass of the zombie but was confused when she saw the red ripple where her shot impacted. 'That's not right.' She thought to herself. 'Arrows embed in what they hit, not fall to the ground.' When the attractive man, Vier? she thought his name was, spoke up to inform the group on a tactic Valenya turned her head towards him; but by the time he'd finished speaking Val found herself assaulted by one of the female zombies. She let out an "Umph!" when the female zombie's punch landed and stumbled back a step. 'How had that woman got so close to her in so little time?' she wondered 'Especially with how slow they move!' Val shook off the attack and recognized she'd have to get the zombie away from her somehow. She lifted her leg swiftly and pressed her foot against the female zombie's chest pushing her back. At the same time she was drawing another arrow. As her foot came back down to brace against the ground she loosed her shot at the female zombie #4's head.
"AUGH!" Vier exclaimed as his chest was slashed, stumbling back as his free hand reflexively went to his chest. He needed to check how badly he was bleeding. It felt like he had been cut hard enough that it would be fairly serious and he would need to staunch the blood flow before-- After a few testing pats to confirm that he was only feeling unbroken flesh and cloth, Vier looked at the zombie woman in front of him and sighed, "... Guess that's something to think about later. Pity. You look like you were pretty dead sexy when you were alive." Hefting his pipe, he jabbed it forward, aiming for the zombie woman's eye to try and drive the weapon into her head. Spoiler: Attack Roll 1d20= 17 + 1 = 18
Velaelle fired a second volley at Male Zombie 2 and It certainly makes an impact against its defense roll of (1d20)+0=9. Her shot sends it reeling with 8 points of damage, but he still manages to get back up. The female zombie grunts and wheezes at Valleriea while she taunts her. The demon goddess brings her claws down at the creature's eyes and finds them surprisingly resistant with her defense roll of (1d20)+0=15 and only a minimum of 1 damage dealt. With a swift strike to the zombie's head, Cybele delivers a decent blow with an attack roll of (1d20)+5=20. For a moment the strange resistance seems like it might push her spear back, but pierces his skull at the last moment (defense roll (1d20)+0=8) and 12 points of damage dealt. The female zombie pushes her weight back against Val's foot as she lines up the shot on the zombie's forehead and at this range it's hard to miss even with not the best of shots at (1d20)+3=12. However, it certainly wasn't the most impactful of shots and the arrow collides with minimal effect (1d20)+0=10 for 2 points of damage on the defense roll. From the fist colliding with her and now being able to see the attack up close with the creature's reaction. It's clear that the feeling of the injury persists...even if it does not seem to have a physical effect. Vier manages to deliver a decisive strike on the zombie woman and bring her down with one smooth move (defense roll: 1d20+0=2) Three zombies remain to take their turn: The final Male zombie attacking Cybele is clearly winded and with her attention no longer divided cannot seem to get past her defenses. (1d20)+1=2 attack roll vs Cybele's (1d20)+1=10 The Female zombie attacking Valleriea seems to have a more enticing target than her neck. Once the demon is done trying to put her claws through her eyes, the creature clutches at her wrist and gives her hand a great bite. An attack roll of (1d20)+1=17 vs Valleria's defense roll of (1d20)+5=6 for 11 points of damage. Which brings her HP down to 14 Likewise, the zombie near Val also finds a similarly more obtainable morsel. The zombie clutches at the leg pushing against her chest and bites down on the soft flesh of her calf. Attack roll of (1d20+1)=18 vs Val's defense roll of (1d20+0)=7 also for 11 points of damage, bringing Val down to 22 HP. Beginning of round 3: Spoiler vs Spoiler
“Time to finish this.” Velaelle aimed at the last remaining Male Zombie and unleashed another volley of arcane bolts, trying to put it out of its misery. However, perhaps due to her rush to get rid of the undead menace, the aim of her spell was a bit off and most of the bolts missed the intended target... Spoiler: Attack Roll Roll(1d20)+4: 5,+4 Total:9 Target: Maze Zombie 2
The shots do indeed shoot wide and miss the creature with its defense roll of (1d20)+0=13. The bolts careen past the target and collide harmlessly with some rubble. Cybele, Val, Valleriea, and Vier still have to go before the zombies' turn.
Her attempt to gouge the zombie worked...sort of. The demon queen made a face of disgust at how easily her claw sunk through it's eye, but looked visibly disgusted at her opponent having no reaction to it, not even phased. Of course, the creature was already dead. It wasn't put or thrown off by the same injuries that normal people were. The confusion and disgust of her claw sinking back out left her staring at the disgusting gunk for just a little bit too long, before she noticed it somehow occurred to the zombie that the attempted assault wasn't working and the demon only really paying proper attention to her opponent at the last second while it suddenly lunged with more speed than it was thought capable of. "Kyaah!" The demoness let out a sharp pained scream at the zombie somehow regaining momentum and managing a painful attack against her. Gritting her teeth, she glared at the zombie looking much less amused than before. Spoiler: Roll Pained, the color of her eyes going from a light tinge to a bloodred, the queen blared her own fangs, saying nothing more than an animalistic growl, following it up with going for the zombie's throat with a bite of her own.
"ARGH!" Valenya screamed at the zombies bite and pulled her foot away. The same red shimmer again spread from where the zombie attacked and Val wondered briefly about what strange sort of magic caused her to not have any sort of wound at the point. She didn't dwell on that thought as the scrambling zombie drew her attention still. With a huff, she drew another arrow and loosed it at the zombie's skull.
Seeing how the zombie had gotten slower, as Cybele's defenses actually managed to fend him off. But seeing how Velaelle's spells still seemed to miss, the warrior decides to finish him off. Lunging toward him, to once again jab her spear on his face.
The angry former demon queen latches onto the zombie's and rips at it. Its body resists briefly(1d20+0=7) before Valleriea rips its head off completely. an explosion of black ichor fills her mouth with a disgusting taste, but she feels a brief influx of healing from her drain ability (1d4)=4. Val finally succeeds at penetrating the zombie's skull with her arrow. A devastating (1d20+3)=20 strike vs its defense roll of (1d20+0)=5. The zombie slumps down off of her calf and onto the ground. there's 1 zombie remaining with 2 hp and Vier and Cybele still has a go yet before he does. Well then, success music plays and Cybele manages to finish off the final zombie. The rlls were...well, Cybele got a 1, but thanks to her great attack and a poor defense roll of 2 on the zombie. It didn't matter. With the final zombie dead, the party manages to all level up. Level 2 for everyone gives 2 points to distribute into Atk, Def, and HP as they choose.
Pulling his pipe out of the zombie's eye hole, Vier looked up and around to see where he could help next, only to see that everything else that was attacking them was already dead... well... double dead at least. "Everyone okay?!" he called out in concern, "If anyone's hurt I can look them over! I'm not a doctor but I do know some first aide if you need it!"
"Hah." Breathing a relieved sigh as the final zombie died, Cybele unsummons her spear. Before clutching the shoulder that was bit, "Urgh. Well, I feel pain, but there seemed to be no physical damage." She groaned as she replied to Vier. (Should we edit our character info's to add the new stats?)
Level: 1+1=2 (I edited the stats on my main character's information page anyway. I know. I'll go for raising her attack later. Maybe after a couple more levels of boosting her hp and defense.) HP: 25+1=30 Attack: 1 Defense: 5+1=6 As the zombie fell, she let the taste of disgusting ichor run over her mouth. She almost instinctively wanted to spat it back out, but she swallowed. Still believing she was following the rules of her world, she associated the sudden slight return in strength to it. She felt the slight surge of energy which while great for her new form....a single zombie wasn't going to get her to godhood anytime soon. She'd need to consume tons of bio-energy to get back anywhere close to where she once was. Still, the demoness let her wings fold back as she seemed to reshape...going down a few inches in height and her face looking back like the silly young girl from earlier. "What? Did you think these losers were really going to be a problem?" She smiled, looking super confident and proud of herself...for about two seconds, before she remembered what she just did and looked ready to cry again, tears welling up in her eyes. It was hard to tell if it was actually just an act or if her as a human, was just really like this. "..I...zombie...I ate...YOU JERKS! Why did you make me do that?"
(You can edit your character info. I'll update the character cards...probably tomorrow at this point)
With a breath, Val tucked a loose locke of hair behind her ear and set about gathering up her spent arrows. The gut punch still hurt but it was a dull throb, she cautiously examined her calf still surprised to see no real wound there. Once she'd placed the last arrow back in her quiver she returned to the others. "What is this... first aid?" she asked Vier.
Seeing Valleria's distress, Vier tucks the pipe into the loop of his belt before going over to place a comforting hand on her shoulder. Seemingly nonplussed by her hysteria, he gives her as charming a smile he can manage as he says, "That transformation was really incredible, though. It's so amazing how powerful you were! That thing didn't stand a chance!" At Val's question he looked up and blinked. "It's... y'know... first aide? Cleaning and bandaging cuts? Slings and splints for broken bones? Y'know, treating injuries as best you can with what you got at the time."
"Oh!" she said thinking about it. "My people don't have a term for it. We're just taught to do it ourselves. Or if we can't the rest of the clan will bring us to our healer." After a moment she questioned, "You say you're not a... what did you call it... Doc'tor. Are they your healers? Were you apprenticing to become one?"
The acknowledgment of someone feeding her ego, made her smile a bit. "This is nothing. Back in my prime I would've just had to breath on this place and...." She paused from her bragging and started to frown again. "But it's no good. I've completely lost my origin form. I'll need to eat lot's to get even close to having that power back." She trailed off as if thinking about something. Taking notice of the injured elf, it looked as if the young demoness got an idea as she approached. "Hey. You're injured. So, you're just going to slow us down, anyway. And I need lot's of bio-mass so I can grow. Would you mind, if I just kind of....?" Everything about her tone of voice remained sounding sweet though a little bratty, as if this was a perfectly reasonable thing to ask. Though seeing the elf had apparently healed from her wound, it made the demon blink a bit. "Oh. Looks like it's not that bad. Oh, well. You can help me out next time you get hurt too badly." It was amazing how quick she could go from being a spoiled brat to it becoming apparent that if any of her claims were true, she must've been an absolute menace in her world and didn't seem to see anything wrong with her line of thinking. "I mean if you die, it's not really a big deal then. Not like you're using all that energy anyway, right?"
