Seeing how her teammates weren't fazed by battle, Cybele takes her time to relax. Figuring she could rely on them, some what. "Alright, now what?" She asked, "I suppose the town is crawling with these "zombies," but we'll still need to scour this place for supplies."
Vier shook his head. "Apprenticing? Nah. You just pick up a few things along the way when you're exploring and it seemed like good stuff to know if me or someone I was with got hurt before we got to a town or something, y'know?" "We probably shouldn't start turning each other into Emergency Food QUITE yet," he said with a small smile to hopefully cut off the awkward conversation, "Though... there's a thought. Some of you got munched on and cut by those things, right? So... how come none of us are bleeding?"
Valleria turned her head to blink, looking genuinely surprised that someone might have any objections. "What'd I say?" While it was obvious she didn't really get any of the issues with her idea, she took at Cybele. "Well...that's tricky. I don't know about the rest of you, but I prefer strawberries to people, if I can help it. Especially dead people. There's got to be somewhere with some fruit somewhere."
Val just blinked at what she inferred from the white haired woman. Had she really just suggested what Val thought she suggested? "No." Valenya answered curtly. She then turned back to Vier. "I don't know." she said answering his question. "That surprises me too. Not that I'm complaining. I'm quite happy not to be bleeding all over the place." Still hungry, Val nodded at Cybele's suggestion. "I was hunting before we arrived here, and it's been quite some time now since I last ate. So I'm going to look around to see what I can find to eat."
Hearing the elf's reaction, the demon girl perked up again, back to that annoying bratty grin. "Oh, see? She said doesn't mind." Not really getting it, the conversation about finding new food still got her attention enough to focus on that. "I demand candy. And strawberries. And chocolate. Jello, would be good too. Though....I suppose, I wouldn't mind a couple plain donuts even, right now. Then we must have ice cream for the main meal after we're done with the appetizer. Possibly some pie to go along, with it." She rattled off her list of ideas for food for a little longer, before focusing. "Fun fact. My body actually makes the things I eat healthier and cleaner, so I never get any cavities!" Proud of herself and eager to brag about herself unprompted, she went back to thinking. "I don't know what the rest of you will do though. But...you guys are super weird. You're like "I only need the one regular sized steak." But I'm still in a growing stage. And food is important for my body. Plus, food is important for a girl's bust, so I need to eat lot's to make my boobs so big." Dropping the comment off handedly, she then seemed to think on things harder. "But...this is a school place, right? So students must have somewhere they break to eat. There might be stuff to raid there."
Velaelle let the rest of the group chat while she enjoyed the feeling of power that had washed through her as soon as the combat had ended. It was minor, barely noticeable, but it was there. So I can regain my power by fighting and defeating enemies. Good to know. Eventually she decided to join the conversation. “Well, these zombies are slow and so it should be easy enough to avoid most of them. We should use the chance to search this building” she pointed at the nearby school “there might be friendly people inside willing to help, or at least give us some information. We might also find something of use, be it food and water, clothes, or something else.” (Character sheet edited. Took +1 Attack and +1 Defense)
With the "demon god" barking off her demands, Cybele looks at the elves. First at Val, "A hunter? I too a, versed in hunting beasts. I'd be happy to join you if you need the help." She said with a proud smirk. Then at Velaelle, "Though gathering it from a building also has its advantages... and disadvantages, if we find more of these zombies inside."
“Indeed, every coin has two sides.” Velaelle nodded in agreement. “Being inside the building will limit our mobility... but the same goes for any enemies, so it might work in our advantage, depending on circumstances.”
"Also, we have no idea what's out there either," Vier chipped in, "you could easily run into something that would want to turn YOU into lunch instead... and be a lot bigger than anything that could fit in the building." Nodding at the white haired woman, Vier added, "And, at least there'd probably be a vending machine or two we can raid inside even if the cafeteria food ends up being all spoiled or something. Probably not the healthiest meal or must conductive to making boobs bigger the fastest but better than nothing, y'know?"
Valenya pondered the others ideas of exploring the... school. She'd never been in such a structure before, and its nature piqued her curiosity. What wonders would she find inside? The thought excited her. Plus the handsome man and the other elf had said there could be food and water inside. But as her eyes turned to the woods beyond the town, her thoughts drifted to her tribesmen. Had they too seen the dazzling lights? Where they brought to this strange world? Were they injured? Did they need her help? Nature and concern beckoned her, but when she regarded the fallen zombies something turned in her gut. Perhaps there were more creatures like them out there, and if so had they beset her friends and family? Val shook her head. She had to find out. "You can all explore the building if you want. I'm inclined to search for food." She then regarded Cybele "If you wish to join me, I welcome the company." She then checked the dim light in the sky to judge how much it had moved since they first arrived, if it had moved at all. "I promise to return before nightfall, and share whatever bounty I gain with the rest of you." With that said she nodded to the group and turned to make her way to the edge of town.
"What? You're really going to hunt animals? There's no sugar in that!" While clearly passionate about her objections, it didn't look like it was going to dissuade the elf as the demon was left making a pouting face as she made a low mumbling sound on her breath, barely loud enough for anyone to hear unless they were paying close attention. Casting an aside glance, she just looked at the elf askew as she walked away, the demonic girl simply choosing to stand in place, arms on her hips, pursing her lips into a pout and blow a puff of air as she mumbled. "Andthere'snotellingifthestabilityofthewarpedissettledandthechancesofbeingoutdoorsfortoolongcouldpotentiallyriskmagicalradiationasasideeffectifthedimensionsarestillsettlingaswellasanyforeignplantsandcreaturesfromyour realmwouldn'thaveevolvedtobepartofyourfoodchainandaremostlikelytoxictoamortalsdigestivesystemassumingtheatmosphereandoxygenisevenenvironmentallyfriendlyinthis mergedpointanyway." "But you know. Don't listen to me. What would I know, right?"
"Heh. Well, such a beast wouldn't go unnoticed." Cybele gave a confident reply, "And if there is such a beast, I can easily track its location. Which should eliminate the chances of it sneaking up on us." She continued with a grin. "Alright, time to go hunting." Cybele nods, following the elf. "We'll be back here later, so see you all then." She said, as they leave to go hunt their meal.
It certainly had moved a little, so clearly whatever happened to create this place intended for this fake sun to function like the real one. Leaving the group, Cybele and Val travel eastward toward the vast forest that has engulfed that side of the town. The farther east the pair traveled, the more forest overtakes them. Trees jut up out of the roofs of buildings and shattered glass from tree branches suddenly piercing windows clutter the ground. Some of the much older-era homes are more forest than man-made. There doesn't seem to be a definitive line for where the town ends and the forest begins. Just a point where you stop seeing artificial constructions. Which leaves the other three to enter into the school. It's quite a large building with two wings of classrooms and overall the building seems to be in rather good shape all things considered. Entering into the main lobby, the wings head off to the left and right. Ahead appear to be to offices for the school. There's no electricity for those who know what that is (Vier) which gives the building a dark and sort of claustrophobic feeling.
Once they were in the forest, Cybele breaths deeply, enjoying the fresh air. "Ahh. Despite the weird buildings, and carriages. It's good to see that nature is more or less the same." The warrior cooed, as she walked around. While keeping a close eye on any tracks she could find... animal, or otherwise.
“...so this is some sort of educational facility? I wonder if we can find any history books about whatever world this is from. We can worry about that later. We just need to keep up the search for whatever the people here eat.” Valleria took a few steps forward with confidence even without having any idea where she was going, before stopping, peering down the hallway and scowling. “...but, I hate the dark, so one of you can go first.”
So this is what the inside of a local school looks like... nothing like the schools in our world. And not a single Illumination Sphere in sight, either. I wonder what do the locals use to illuminate the interior? Oh, well, doesn't really matter. I could always cast a light spell to help us see... but that'll make us easier to spot, too. It's not that dark, so no need, at least for now. Velaelle took a look around the inside of the school before turning to her two companions. “While we could split up and each investigate a different part of the building, that seems like a bad idea. Best to stick together. So, which way should we go? Any suggestions?” She asked them and waited, hoping that the other woman in their little group would lead the way. Velaelle had no intention of becoming anyone's servant, but if the self-proclaimed Demon God wanted to take the front and act as a living shield for the two of them, Vela would be happy to let her. Guess not. Let's see if I can persuade her... “What's there to be afraid of? It's not that dark, at least for now. Maybe once the weird 'sun' in the sky sets... but that's still hours away. And if we encounter any more of those puny zombies... I'm sure they will be no threat to a mighty Demon God like you, right? In fact, I seem to recall that one of them couldn't even scratch you...” At least at first – it had been more successful with its next attack... but there was no need to bring that up. “So tell us your opinion: Which way should we go?” She asked with a friendly smile on her face.
“I didn’t say I was scared. I said I hate the dark.” The brat was ready to pout again as the elf spoke, forcing her to make a face as she thought about it. “What? You think I don’t know what you’re trying to do? I know how this works. You tell me to scout ahead and you’ll just be right behind me, and then you never are, and you ditch me. Or you drop spiders on my head. OR you lock me out of the castle on my birthday and then get mad when I tell mom and say you were just joking and that I’m being a baby and don’t even apologize for acting like a stupid jerk face whose face is stupid- Taking a breath, she swallowed, and sighed, then took a look at her. “...but you’re right that these are no problem for me. Worst case scenario, they annoy me for a little bit before I beat them up. I mean...I’LL live. I don’t know about the rest of you.” Taking a look down the paths, she thought about it. “It reminds me of this labyrinth we had at home. There was a trick to this. Just hug the right wall, and keep going right and you’ll find a way out eventually.” She began to walk forward, to follow that advice, her red eyes darting back to cast a sharp look. “Stay exactly where I can see hear or you.”
Velaelle listened silently as the “Demon God” kept talking. “I'm glad my sisters are nothing like your siblings...” was her only comment. “Of course I'll stay close – like I said, splitting up is a bad idea. And splitting up just to play a prank on you would be dumb.” The noblewoman followed after their meat shield... er, leader... staying a couple of steps behind – close enough to provide support in case of an attack, yet far enough to make sure she would not be the first target of any enemy they encountered. After a couple of steps the elf looked over her shoulder to make sure the only man in the small group was following as well – it would not do if her other meat shield... er, companion... got lost. “Keep your eyes on the surroundings, not on my butt. We don't want to get surprised by an attack from behind.” She told him before continuing to walk forward. @Daylan
Testing a nearby light switch to confirm the lack of power, Vier clicked his teeth lightly. Depending on if the electricity had only gone out when it had been transported to where it was now or if it had been out long before hand due to whatever had caused zombies to be milling about in front of it, that might not be a good sign for any potential food storage. The argument in front of him was somewhat amusing. These were clearly both women used to being in charge, so he knew better than to step into the middle of that mess... not that he really thought of himself as much of a leader anyway. AND staying behind them DID mean he got to admire both of their impressively shapely rears a little bit. But only a little bit. The blonde elf WAS right that it was more important to watch for hazards instead of watching hip sways. He decided that maybe he'd only steal a few glances once they were past any obvious doorways, a self-reward for his due diligence. And he also considered ways that maybe he could help so they didn't bumble about the halls all day. "Keep an eye out for signage on the walls" Vier said, "Stuff that says 'cafeteria' or 'lunch room' and an arrow next to it. 'Nurse's office' might be useful too, since they'd have medicine." Looking around he sighed and added, "Though this looks like a western-style school so probably no place to pick up schoolgirl uniforms for all of you..."
Val nodded in silent agreement. The buildings were a curiosity she'd certainly want to explore later, but at the moment the wild was what called her. Her calf still bugged her as she walked, and she made a mental note to keep an eye out for any herbs she might be able to ground into a poultice. Like her companion, her keen eyes and ears scanned their surroundings for anything that might prove useful, tracks, food bearing trees, materials she could fashion into tools, the tell tale signs of fresh water. Anything...
