@Daylan @Auraicide @moonblack The hallway is quite quiet and peeking into the rooms reveals that they are pretty trashed. In fact, they look like they were almost intentionally trashed. Most of the desks were dumped over and the contents of drawers were spilled out onto the floor. None of it looked to be of much use. The good news is that due to how quiet things are, it doesn't take long for you to figure out that you're not alone. About half-way down the hall, you start hearing the faint sound of a female voice barking orders. The crashing of desks also can occasionally be heard coming from a classroom ahead. Looking at the walls, The Office area has a special notation for Nurse as well as a couple of other general offices for the upper staff and a Teacher's lounge. Off to the left seems to be the Gymnasium and Library. Off to the right seems to be the cafeteria. Just to give you a *general* Layout of the building as I presume your first goal will be heading to the cafeteria. You find looking at the ground is almost unsettling. It's the most untouched ground that you've ever seen outside of a few select locations. There was grass, but no signs that anything has *ever* passed through this area of land. A few green leaves and branches have fallen off of the trees just recently...likely due to the earthquake, but it's like the ground had never interacted with anything. It has not even developed a classic earthy smell that everyone is used to. It is almost a relief when you find a set of paw prints that clearly belong to a wolf or a coyote. A few more paw prints reveal that likely a whole pack was in the area. One of which had paws larger than your hand. The relief, of course that there is evidence that there is animal life in the forest...although not all of it is friendly. @GenericEditor168 Seph took a bit longer to wake than most of the others. When he did wake, he found himself in a dense forest. Clearly not where he was before. The trickling of a nearby stream started the process of waking him and the streams of light through the canopy from a strange Not-Sun finally managed to get him to open his eyes.
"There's animal life here." Val says to Cybele before adding quietly "Finally." After a brief examination of the tracks she concluded, "Several of them in fact, canine by the looks of the prints; a pack of wolves maybe. And something... bigger." she looked at her companion then. "Hunting elk is one thing, wolves are different." Valenya stood up then "We'll have to proceed cautiously. Shall we?" she indicated in the direction the tracks led.
"Well, that can't be good." Hearing the crashing noise, Valleria sighed. "But...nobody wants to listen to me, normally....and going to normal, might be bad....so let me think on that." Pouting again for a moment, she invoked her magic. The change was...something. Tall as her demon form was with the maturity, but the white and red eyes didn't change. Either it was by choice or perhaps something her human disguises couldn't actually change, but the differences were noticeable. Her outfit however...seemed unusual. It was like the costume someone would wear in a cheap play about vampires, but the woman seemed to wear the alterations to her clothes utterly seriously. And since apparently this is what she landed on expecting it to command authority, she was allegedly being serious. Even the way she stood was different. There was the same air of confidence, but with more maturity that changed the tone of her smile, almost completely as she looked at her two companions. "What do you think? Which one's your favorite? ...actually, don't answer. I couldn't possibly make you choose. You're already clearly in love with me anyway, after all. Expecting you to know the best version would be just plain sinister." ....no. Her voice sounded older, but she definitely didn't change that much. "No time like the present. Investigate that sound so we can find the authority that claims lordship of these lands, and then we challenge their rule to overthrow them. Preferably we can spare their subjects lest we lose servants to man the fields." The way she spoke made it more and more obvious the vampire outfit was meant for serious business without risking going full demon. She still believed things worked like they did in her time and began to advance with what looked like a plan, but was most likely still the same blind confidence. Some things just don't change.
"Interesting." Cybele grind as she saw the footprints, "Well, if the wolves can grow that big, that simply means there's an abundance of prey." She said, "And if we do run in to the pack, the best solution to it is simply taking down the leader. At least, that's how wolves in my world worked." She added, as she follows Val.
So there are people here – and they seem to be trashing the place, by the sound of it. Possibly in search of anything useful, just like us. Velaelle's thoughts were interrupted when their “leader” started talking and then transformed. Again she rolled her eyes at the “Demon God's” antics and ignored most of her words. “Let's go find out who else is here and what is it that they are doing. Lead the way.” She said simply. She seems to have the best defense among us, so I'm sure she can take at least a couple of hits, if it comes to it...
The part-dragon stands up, raising his gun and preparing to resume his desert patrol... his desert patrol through the dense forest... his desert patrol in a dense forest with a nearby river... He silently turned around in a tight circle, keeping his machinegun ready as he tried to work out where exactly he was. Let's see: he was suddenly in an entire new environment, his comms were dead, and the sky was... wrong. What had the bloody mages been doing?
"Come on you idiots. I can not believe that we have searched a dozen of these strange square hovels and haven't found anything useful. I am starting to think that the problem isn't this place, but your usefulness." Vier, Vela, and Valleriea all hear the female voice snap at someone. Peeking into the room, there seems to be three figures. The most prominent is a woman sitting on a desk in the center of the room. She has tanned skin, dark hair, and dark spots or freckles dot across her shoulders and back. A pair of animal ears protrude from her normal ones and she has a stubby gray and black tail. Her body is adorned with crude jewelry which includes an ear ring in her right ear. Her clothing is made of simple fabric and she has a crude spear resting on her shoulder. Her two companions seem much less...groomed or even human. They appear to be large, humanoid canines with gray and black fur. Black spots cover their bodies and their faces have a long muzzle full of sharp teeth and digitgrade legs. They too appear to have spears while the woman stands over them. Clearly the one in charge. The strange beast creatures are busy ransacking the desks and the woman's back is to the door. Spoiler Edit: The males also have loin cloth's. I forgot to mention. There seem to be only a few options open to Seph. As he ponders where to go next, a sudden rustling gets his attention. A black wolf seems to have stumbled upon you. However, its appearance is quite odd. Its eyes are a deep red and you get a sense of an intelligence behind it that you wouldn't in a normal wolf. It looks almost like it's surprising to see you in this location. Before you can react, it turns tail and runs away. Something's telling you that you shouldn't stick around here for much longer. Its posture and how quickly it backed off reminds you quite similarly to what you might have done in the same position as a scout. Spoiler @asddas193 @Omega98 I'm going to hold off on your next post for now until I know what @GenericEditor168 is going to do. Feel free to have some "girl talk" while you track the wolves in the meantime. If you wish.
Cute, but nothing more. Clearly not a local and thus not a good source of information about where we are. In a word: Useless. Velaelle decided, based on what she could see of the woman. Perhaps the unknown female would make a decent pet under different circumstances... but at the moment the noblewoman was looking for a servant, not a pet. The trio seemed like more of a hindrance than potential help. Vela was severely tempted to unleash a volley of Arcane bolts upon one of the males in a surprise attack... but stayed her hand - for now...
After a moment's pause, and with the prickling feeling at the back of his neck telling him he'd better move on, Seph decides to head off after the wolf. It moved like a scout; it might be from a dog squad. He keeps his gun ready, though, in case it turns out to be possessed; keeping a close eye on the surrounding forest, or as close an eye as he can while keeping up with the wolf.
Vier silently shook his head in amazement when the now-taller woman was not looking. Her self-assurance WAS pretty impressive (and hot) but it was getting a little concerning it might be bubbling over into overconfidence... hot overconfidence but still overconfidence. Vier shared a look with Velaelle to indicate he was not unsympathetic to her annoyance. He was fairly sure she was going to be a much tougher nut to crack (or maybe "crack to nut" in this case) but sometimes the stand-offish ones tended to be the most satisfying to mate. "Whoa, furries," he muttered to himself before sighing as the two women in front of him advanced, deciding maybe, for now, it was best to be the cute, unassuming face to maybe smooth things over if things looked like they were taking a turn for the aggressive.
"Little girl. That's dangerous." Valleria did, what in her mind, was being perfectly friendly and sociable as she approached. The white haired woman in the vampiress outfit definitely wouldn't have been the thing these people were searching for, but she advanced, staying alert, almost expecting them to do something stupid or pick a fight. The eyes of the demon had disdain, for the girl, though they lingered for a minute on the hyena monster men, sizing them up. They looked....considerably more threatening. The girl was clearly some wannabe spellcaster thinking she could be the boss...but really? Who would listen to this little brat? How old was this girl? Probably couldn't be just turned an adult by more than a couple years at the most. The heels of her boots clicked against the floor, as she lifted one arm up to brush her hair and stare at the girl. As much as she tried, she couldn't take this girl seriously. Not this flat chested little brat trying to act like she should be giving the orders. Realms merged together or no, that meant that technically, all this land belonged to the demon god and she wasn't thrilled about anyone trying to impose on her territory. "Isn't it rude to be trying to take from me? This is all my property, after all. I don't think I enjoy people feeling entitled to my stuff."
@asddas193 @Omega98 Cybele and Val continue their pursuit of the wolf tracks when they hear a sudden rustling on a nearby ridge. Looking up the hill, you both see a black wolf sprint past briefly before disappearing out of sight. Maybe 30 seconds or so you see a reptilian man in some strange metal armor pursue after it. AKA Seph/ @GenericEditor168 . @moonblack @Daylan @Auraicide The three of you enter into the room and Valleria catches the attention of the odd trio. The two hyena men immediately move to defend the woman. Their spears ready defensively in case any of you attempt to rush her. She turns on the desk and looks the three of you over. "well, finally someone has come home to their hovel. Two females and a...male. What tribe are you from?"
Velaelle rolled her eyes at the woman's words. Intelligence seems to not be one of her strengths...She clearly has no idea where she is or who we are, and can't even tell that we're not locals, or that we haven't been traveling together for long... She kept the thoughts to herself, letting Valleria do the talking. Though the elf remained alert and ready to send a volley of arcane bolts at the nearest enemy, should any of the three act in a hostile manner.
@GenericEditor168 @Omega98 "What in the?" Cybele said in shock as a wolf seemingly charged toward them. Summoning her spears as she got in battle position, she expected the wolf to strike. But as it ran past, apparantly being chased by an armored being. The warrior raises her spear, ready for a fight. "So, are you hostile, or did you also get sent here?"
"I'm a bit of a nomad, myself," Vier says, looking the slender hyena-woman over, "Though I'm guessing all of us are a bit farther from home than some think we are?" Not too bad, he decided. Obviously not as voluptuous as his current companions, and if the two with her were the standard appearance for males of her race that might mean he was not going to be her type, but still someone he could easily imagine himself having a go at if the chance arose. Nodding his head at Valleria he added, "Some further than others."
"Nobody asked you, Male. They will speak for you." The woman nudged her spear in the direction of Valleria and Vela
“Don’t talk to my slave like that!” Valleria’s tone was sharp, and nothing in her voice sounded like she was only saying it for the hyena’s benefit. “You are still destroying my new castle and stealing my property. Maybe tell me what it is you’re looking for, before I start getting cranky.”
Vier shut up. This world certainly wasn't lacking for strong women, even if his account for said women only currently numbered five (the female zombies didn't count), and given Valleria was already riling them up, it was probably best he did not compound that problem. While not overtly reaching for his weapon, his hand did drift closer to the pipe he still had tucked in his belt... just in case.
"At least you have the presence of mind to keep your males in check." The woman scoff's at your posturing. "I don't have to answer to you. As far as I am concerned, we have taken over this village in the name of the Neish Tribe. You have not any power here."
The more she talks the less impressed I am. If the entire 'Neish Tribe' is like her, then they are not worth much. Velaelle decided as she listened to the conversation. Looks like it won't be long before our 'glorious leader' and the hyena woman come to blows. I could probably step in and stop them... but why bother? I could use the exercise, and we really don't need any competition in searching through this place... Thus the noblewoman remained quiet, ready to attack at a moment's notice.
