Velaelle's opinion on the hyena woman could be summed up as “too dangerous to let go, not cute enough to keep as a pet”. Getting rid of her seemed like the right choice, thus she had no objections to what the demon woman intended to do. While the elf was not a huge fan of sacrifices she understood that such things were sometimes necessary. And considering they were in an unknown land with practically no resources... there was no reason to hesitate. “Sure, I'll help with what I can. Since it;s your ritual I'll let you take the lead and do the main parts.” she accepted the proposed course of action with a shrug.
"Ummm..." Vier found himself responding, eyes widening in alarm, "I'd really rather you not..." Vier winced. Yeah, he kinda got the idea this lady was the "honor or death" type but he had a vested interest in keeping her alive at least a little longer... maybe. Vier winced again. He had expected the elf to be amoral enough to go through with this idea (not that he was one to talk about morality) and there was no way he'd be able to fight the two of them off on his own, even if he wanted to. His mind raced as he tried to think of a way out of it... and decided to at least bite the bullet on a secret he had been keeping about himself. "Uhh... about this sacrifice," he hesitantly says, "Would it get thrown off if there was a second life inside of her?"
Valleria had to blink. “What? Like a parasite inside her or something? I don’t think it would hurt anything. Then again, I’m not too sure how well this will or won’t work here. But if it’s like...what demonic possession? It will just find a new host.” Running the claw along the girl’s neck, a small drop of blood started as she made a prick, not yet getting ready to be fatal, but it was absolutely clear to the hyena woman that the demon was not in anyway bluffing. “Besides, she wanted to do it, so...I don’t think the demon will mind. It will just take a new body.” Missing the point, Valleria looked still pretty set on her course of action.
As the wolves back away to prowl elsewhere in the forest, and the others head back up towards him, Seph stands up and rejoins them, keeping an eye out himself for anything edible in the odd dream-world wilderness. May as well feed the apparitions, if that's what they want. (Sorry for the delay in reply.)
Vier sighs and takes a deep breath before yelling, "I mean I think she might have a baby inside of her! That she's PREGNANT!"
“W-what? No, for the last time. You aren’t married so you can’t have a baby.” Valleria’s voice made it obvious she truly felt her logic was flawless, but closed her eyes and let out a sigh. “Buuut I’m a loving goddess to my peons. If you don’t want it dead, I guess we can let it run away....but...while I’m a very lovely and sweet goddess, I cannot let go of people not giving the respect due to me.” “I’ll let you live...” Pull her claw away from the neck, Valleria relaxed for a moment. “But you won’t be showing your face around here again!” Her eyes flashed to a blood red and let her claws fully extend to take a swipe across the hyena’s face, no doubt aiming to leave a deep and massive scar across the face, trying to disfigure her would be rival.
@asddas193 @Omega98 @GenericEditor168 As your group continues to explore the forest, you do manage to see the activity of animals more than just the wolves which is a relief as it means that presumably more than just intelligent beings were transported here. However, @Omega98 Val realizes rather quickly that despite the agreement that you wouldn't be followed, there is definitely one of the wolf-creatures that starts tailing you almost immediately. It stays far enough back that any attack would be hard to hit, but it's close enough that you catch sight of it every now and then flitting between the trees.
Valenya paid attention to the tell-tale signs of wildlife and did her best to track the path that might best lead to their prey; the straggler did cause her some concern however. Did she make a mistake letting the group leave? Why was the wolf following them? Was he/she/it leaving a trail for the others to follow? Would they return with more? Did the wolf abandon its pack to join them? She hated not knowing, and silently wished for an elder to enlighten her. "We have a tail." she informed the group after they'd walked a good distance. "Seems like a lone wolf. Not sure why he's following us." Maybe one of her companions would know what to do.
As their party was finally free to hunt, Cybele uses her own knowledge, and experience to look for prey, who were hopefully delicious, and not poisonous. But as the elf informed them of their tail, she raises an eyebrow. "Hmm. I guess they weren't that intelligent after all." She sighed, "Well, if you keep his attention, I can circle around and capture him. What do you think?"
Val pondered Cybele's recommendation and felt a sense of unease. Most of her previous experiences of working with others (in fact all of it) had been with her clan, and they had never really included her in their decision making. She'd grown frustrated with it and taken to hunting by herself, that decision had led her to the very situation she was in: stranded on what appeared to be another world with a group of people she didn't know and a pack of intelligent wolves possibly hunting them. Thus she had to question her own judgement. She found herself wishing for her shaman so that she might defer to their wisdom, and now silently wished that she'd listened to Vela and stayed with her. Valenya determined that leadership was uncomfortable. Cybele's plan sounded good to her, if only because she couldn't think of anything else. Val did wonder exactly how she'd keep the wolf following them distracted, and be able to cover Cybele in case she was discovered and attacked. 'Maybe Belisepheras has an idea.' she thought to herself and looked at their new companion almost pleadingly.
The Hyena woman shouted in pain as Valleriea clawed through her face. She shouted and glared at her attacker. Her torn eye closed and blood streaming down her face, "You bitch! Cunt! Whore..." she shouted every curse she could think of including some that you didn't recognise on her pained tirade of rage.
Wincing in sympathy, Vier wishes he had bandages or something he could trust to be clean enough to help staunch the blood flow without causing an infection (and using the scraps of her own clothing seems a little crass even for him, on top of the unsanitary elements). But that would require finding the nurse's office, which might have more zombies in it, and-- Hold on a second. Something about what had just happened struck Vier as a little odd, considering the previous examples of what had occurred when violence had been inflicted. Why was physical damage something that only happened SOMETIMES? He knew he had no personal force field equipment or anything like that, and none of the others seemed to have one or use that kind of magic either. It was a question for later though. For right now, he kept his attention on his potential baby mama as he looked at her intensely and said, "You can either keep cursing her out until she changes her mind or get out of here BEFORE she changes her mind."
The woman glared at the trio hatefully before stumbling to her feet. Her hand covered her torn and she quickly flees out the door and presumably out of the building. A trail of blood spatters dot the floor to mark her passing.
“Well, that's that, I guess. Shall we go back to exploring? There are still parts of the building we have not checked yet...” It was obvious Velaelle no longer cared about the defeated hyena woman.
Vier grunts, "May as well." Still, looking down at the blood trail, he cannot get the thought that has struck him out of his mind. "Still... why did that work?"
