Once he was close to the staff Varrin stopped and looked around to assess the situation. He wanted to make sure that none of the fighters had noticed him and the MILF wasn't trying to surprise him from behind. Then, if he found no immediate danger, he would go and get the staff.
One of the warriors interrupts her thought process, fainting left before slashing right at her throat. "It will be my honour to slay you, honourable one!" He calls respectfully but arrogantly.
Heading down into the tunnel, Ard only has to walk a few metres before he reaches a destroyed wall. Beyond the wall is a luxurious circular room filled to the brin with treasure. Inside is a chaotic brawl between two groups. The first group consists of three dark skinned warriors, a fourth one burning to death on the floor, who are fighting a group of two witchers and a sorceress. Nearby stands a navigator's staff, levitating and glowing, which the sphere tries to pull Ard to. Sneaking towards the staff, around the combatants, are a young noble, and a busty milf. (Sorry if I'm spamming you guys with images. I'm just trying to make sure everyone knows who's who. Tell me if I should cut back.)
Lutz searches the body, but finds nothing but a few coins, a dagger, and the axe at his side. Behind the torturer, the priestess moans slightly, but is still incapacitated.
Deciding she needed to move quickly, Mirellia sneaks past the fighting. She readies her knife just in case, and rushes to retrieve the staff herself.
Lutz took the coin and left the body. He walked to the priestess, and with a quick movement, he snapped her neck. Then Lutz started packing his things. Once everything was packed, he left the safe house, leaving the bodies behind - it was no longer his problem. It was time to leave the city and return back to his employer. The faster he left the city, the better.
Ard looked around at the fight, entirely unsure if he should help one side or the other. Stepping into the vault with Abigail, he created a magical barrier behind him, to make sure nobody escaped. He wasn't going to let them take the staff, conjuring his magic, he launched a ball of frost towards the warriors standing in his way.
The MILF had started moving, clearly looking to claim the staff. The new arrivals also seemed to be there for it. And the warriors would not be busy for much longer. Varrin was running out of time, and so decided to act. Sheathing his dagger so that he would have a free hand he rushed for the staff, taking advantage of the fact that he seemed to be closest to it and trying to grab it. His sword was held firmly in his main hand, ready to be used if necessary.
The warrior is clearly skilled, but he simply can't compete with a witcher's skills. His scimitar bangs off of Tristan's gauntlet, before her sword Pierce's his unarmoured chest. Varrin and Mirellia make it to the staff at almost the exact same time, coming face to face with one another, while the staff is only a few feet away.
He looks around after leaving, finding his way through the streets. Though the dwarf apparently came to the warehouse alone, Lutz is still in the middle of Cleaver's gang territory. It doesn't take much looking to see the gangster's thugs in the streets.
@Regin34 Ard's ice blasts cut off the two fighting parties, including Trista, from the staff. Moving forward, Ard sees the young noble and the milf facing one another near the staff.
Varrin gave the MILF a weary look and gripped his sword tighter, ready to attack or defend himself at a moment's notice – it was highly unlikely that the unknown woman had ended up there by accident, and that meant she was likely dangerous. “I don't suppose we could discuss the ownership of the staff some place else, over a cup of wine?” From the corner of his eye Varrin noticed movement and a person approaching them. “And it looks like someone else also wants it...” He added and pointed at the approaching figure, though his gaze remained focused on the MILF for now.
@asddas193 @moonblack Ard approached the two interlopers, the sphere in his free hand moving towards the staff. He looked at the older woman and the young man, his ice-blue eyes looking them over, 'You have my thanks for blasting the wall open, dh'oine. Stand aside, I will be taking the navigator's staff now.'
Varrin finally turned his head to look at the newcomer. “I'm afraid I can't do that – I still need the staff. Though you can have it afterwards.” He suggested, not really expecting the... elf?... to accept the offer.
“Save a young woman that was kidnapped by the Wild Hunt.” Varrin answered matter-of-fact-ly. “What about you? What do you plan to do with it?”
'How heart warming. then we seek the same thing... in a way,' Ard chuckled, 'I will use it to go to my world.'
Varrin narrowed his eyes suspiciously at the elf. “Your world?” Then it clicked. No wonder this elf seemed to know so much about the staff. “So what you're saying is that you're one of them. You're one of the Wild Hunt!” The last part was said loud enough for everyone in the room to hear – he could not be sure his guess was correct, but he was not going to take any chances. @asddas193 @Regin34
